Also known as Catching Fleas in the vinyl release, you can now listen to this masterfully arranged track by the Follin brothers with fully restored and cleaned up samples and modern mixing.

Coming back to this masterpiece upon hearing the news of Geoff passing away :(
Yeah man fucking miss him, cancer reeks
He died? Wtf man...
Time moves fast. May he rest in peace.
@@rommix0 too fast man....
The Follin brothers are legend man 😭
RIP Geoff Follin. You will be missed
no fucking way
@@PacoCotero1221 Yeah sadly :(
"They would never put prog rock in some silly obscure SNES platformer"
what are some prog rock songs similar to this cuz this is amazing
Prog rock? Whats that?

3:47 That's where the music loops back. That's a really long loop for a SNES game.
Rest in peace Geoff, you will be remembered for ever in the video game music history.

DAMNJ!!!!!!! why plokgi smokening that za za
After everything he's been through, he just needs to melt into the couch a while.
hes plokkin out
This is the kind of comment I would post
I really like the editing and explanations that go on this, really sets it apart from being "just" the music. Great job as always on the restoration
i agree! they went above and beyond on this
hello xarlable
_Plok_ is a prog rock album with a SNES game attached. Should have been called _Voyage of the Plokolyte._
thats such a beautiful name. and all of the games time follin works on are essentially albumns.
Nah. Plok is a fine name for it. Be happy with what we got! 😃
@@elgatofelix8917 Nobody is complaining.
@@elgatofelix8917No one is complaining, it's a prog rock joke. Voyage of the Acolyte is a sick album by Steve Hackett
1:09 The image perfectly described how I felt listening to that part of the song
I've heard too much hardcore breakbeat music. Just makes me want to dance
Yes
Also that part in Flea pit at 1:03 feels like my mind flew out of the body

Plok Rock
I want to say this is one of the most dedicated Plok videos I've ever seen. Nobody except me and perhaps a couple dozen others care about this game anymore. And the fanbase of the game is so detached that I made me so happy being able to find another person who was willing to go through all of this just to perfect the song. Thank you.
Edit: Please make more of these, I would KILL to hear a high quality version of Plok's house with the pan flute and guitar.. Actually, any Plok song in general..
same
You may be happy to know, some of us on twitch partake in Ploktober every year ;)
@@belcherno.1b638 holy shit is that real
I just discovered how awesome Plok is recently, and it's on my list of games to collect.
In my youth, Plok has opened my musical tastes towards the Prog Rock. I’ve first liked this OST, then became a fan of Genesis.
Honestly this song is so angelic. Sounds like something you'd hear at a professional concert or something
Sounds like something an artist like tyler the creator would sample for a song
Too bad nobody's ever heard the full song. At 1:09 everything just gets drowned out by Tim and Geoff Follin's ascension to godhood.
The " WEED" scene makes me wonder how the plok ost would feel on a trip.
I'm putting this in my trip playlist now. Thanks.
I remember when I listened to this song for the first time, high as a kite. I had no idea what was coming.
The Clayfighter OST is also good for that 😵
@JanneSala it's a wonderfull addition to such a play list. The bass line and drums are such a dope groove. I can't get enough of it, sober or stoned.
@@stevenc9251 I actually did have a shroom trip and listened to this and the restored Beach theme. It was so amazing that it made me dig out my keyboard and jam on Reaper for a couple hours, just recording improvised meditations with different synth presets. The freaking guitar solo in Beach felt like some kind of musical intercourse, lmao.
Honestly, the shit about Follin sampling his own guitar performances to capture the tones as samples is bonkers. Man really did go above and beyond the call of duty.
The guitar solo actually sounds like a Moog synth solo, and I actually like that.
Please please please.... Make more Plok restorations! This is one of my favorite games from when I was a kid. It's honestly one of the reasons I fell in love with music and hearing this restored gave me goosebumps. It's literally perfection.
My grandpa loves Pink Floyd and he listen to them whenever he has the chance to. Never knew Plok would get some of that sauce too.
Well, it actually feels like a mix from a lot of other genres I'd say
Truly amazing how tim folin was able to add chords and progressions into his music that were just so surreal and musically very advanced while working with such basic tools.
Neat little hack, actually. Instead of having the sample be a single note, he put in samples that were full chords, so when you program one note in the sequence, the sound consists of 3 pitches. This way, you could get 7-voice harmony and drums with only 5 channels of sound. Nobuo Uematsu also did this with a choir sound singing a major 7th chord Final Fantasy V.
i love this Genesis B-side
Ha, more like an instrumental passage off “Going for the One.”
(Seriously, I feel quite sure that Follin had the Yes song “Awaken” in mind when he composed this.)
"Los Plokos".
ive never played Plok! in my life but this song has blown 5 separate pairs of socks off my feet already
PLOK!!!! i lvoe plok..

I apologize, I did not know the homie Plok was chill like that
Holy hell this is amazing! You deserve more views for sure

The fact that I was born in the mid 2000's makes me mad because I missed so much stuff in the past
Same
Me too...
I'm glad i got to enjoy what would eventually become nostalgic to me in the late late 2000s and early 2010s, but sometimes I wish I was around to experience all the early consoles I missed out on lol
damn. that sucks, kid.
Nothing is stopping you from playing the game now
Most people played Bubsy instead of Plok it's sadly true but hey not everyone is PURR-FECT!
This is so good. Really appreciate the effort this took. And like Follin himself, you deserve more recognition for it.
this is peak music. In fact, this elevates music
This song was really well done. It's nice to hear the actual instruments in place of the original song. I'd like to hear "beach" as well, but that's just me
It already happened. He posted it a while ago
Best Remake I've heard. I wish the whole was done and downloadable. I donated! Maybe Flea pit next! One of my faves
A FLAC link is available in the description
The amount of work put into this and the attention to detail is astounding, this is really great!
That synth solo at 2:38 fucking floors me every time. 😻🥰💃🏻
Sick pfp
imagine what boss theme would sound like after restoration
beautiful restoration, and the video is fantastic, i really love the bit showcasing the time signatures. would love to hear more snes game restorations! keep up the great work!
This track has no business being this damn good. It's amazing.
Amazing work! Akrillic is absolutely my favorite track from this game! Beach is a great track too, but this one will stay with me for a long time.
2:37 The guitar solo could fit perfectly into a Risk of Rain game and I wouldn't even question it
Come and get em
I don't know why this appeared in my feed but it's exactly what I wanted to see.
it's still insane to me how you reconstructed this song entirely from scratch, incredible work here
This is wonderful. Thank you. To those very familiar with the game did you notice this theme played on the levels with all the boarded up shops and buildings with for sale signs? I have no idea if they drew inspiration from this but the general theme of this track and the sadness that is woven into it seems to capture so well the neglected and boarded up towns of formerly successful British seaside resorts. Even as a child it made me think of those forlorn places because it looks and feels just like them....I replay this game at least one a year and this somewhat haunting melody is one of my favourites.
WOW this sounds incredible, also like a hell of a lot of effort
hope that the sound driver gets reverse-engineered someday so that future restorations aren't a pain in the ass
This is amazing, not only did you recreate the soundtrack from scratch, but also edited the entire music making process into the video! Awesome stuff, hope someday we get to see more of this
This genuinely sounds like something Rush or King Crimson would have composed. This blew my mind.
i loved this game as a kid but realize as an adult i love the soundtrack way more than i ever loved the game play so i fully support this project!
plz do some of the creepy flea pit tracks from later in the game some day i love this project so much
If you do this to Beach, I would be so happy! :D
This sounds awesome, great work!
Incredible work! Amazing restoration of one of the best video game songs for one of the best video games of all time!
The tune heavily borrows from “Living In The Past” by Jethro Tull.
Came here from Church of Kondo. I must say, you did an awesome job!
Tim & Geoff Follin seem to have been very inspired by Jethro Tull when writing this song.
wow. this is a big work. starting from remake itself, continuing to editing with all those little things, info you give about historical context and many interesting moments from your workflow. you have creative and deep approach.
and of course, it's so pleasing to listen. like i'm having this recommended right on the page with original, and remake sounds so clear. downloaded flacs for both akrillic and beach. thank you!
my ears have been blessed
Thanks for this restoration
i cannot stop listening to this track, absolutely fantastic work. i've always liked the music from this game since it was released, i was lucky enough to grab a copy in the 90s. i haven't truily appreciated how complex this is until your restoration, and now it has lived in my head for the past few weeks. bravo!!

One of my all-time fave game tracks!! Awesome job 👏
Your restoration work is always fantastic, and this might be my favorite song ever - I expected it to be much lower on the list of the restoration community's priorities.
On a side note, I've noticed that your Corridors of Time upload is missing - was it taken down by you, or were you forced by SE? No pressure to put it back up if you intended to remove it, I'm just curious - especially since it's named in the Church of Kondo upload's description.
Again, really fantastic work!
Copyright struck by SE. They're taking down all reuploads unfortunately.
Yeah now that SE is putting all their music on streaming services that pay them, they’re striking all the free ones.
Amazing chords
if plok ever gets remastered they need to hire you lol
Long have I waited...
Man I really hope you're working on more of these, because this is superb

This is exceptional effort in a youtube video. i cant really say anything but thank you
Best remaster I've ever heard of an SPC-700 song
Well, that sounded good enough that I was gripped by it until it looped. The explanation is clear - clear as it can be to my musically-ignorant brain anyhow - any well presented. Nice. :D
They seem to love those crazy powerful jazzy chord change bits like at 1:10
God I love the attention Polk music is getting. Well deserved!
ever thought about uploading a fixed version to the google drive where the drums in the first part aren’t slightly delayed? that’s the extra 5% this needs to achieve perfection!!
This shit is phenomenal, great work
Really well made
this is the coolest shit i ever seen and id love to do something like it, but i got no clue where to start. this video is setting an amazing standard of quality regardless.
damn impresssive work
good job
Love the snes great music graphics for the time bless are does who grow up with this
I miss this game so much!
Amazing work on this project, worth the effort!
Also the WEED part gave me a chuckle lol
EDIT: I just realized you're the one who also restored Wario Land 4's Hurry Up! Get in my subscriptions, you beautiful person.
I almost forgot to listen to this today!
Maybe not the best place to ask for this, but is there a possibility we'll ever get a GDrive link for your Chrono Trigger video? Reuploading is probably out of the question I assume because Square Enix' legal team are actual assholes.

@@SennX I only noticed now you answered to this by coincidence wanting to listen to this masterpiece here for like the hundredth time. You are an actual hero.
Rad!
I want Thunder Cat to sang over this that would be 🔥🔥🔥
Really loved your hard work, I saw your first video 2y ago on wario land 4, keep up the good work and maybe another plok song for the next restoration? ;)
daaamn, nice!
always wondered how you "upscale" sounds to be honest
ure doing some rly good stuff here dude, tx
I hope one of these restoration videos can start with “hey all! Plok here.”
What a fantastic work! What technics do you use to upscale the original audio files?
daaas da guud shiiii
Didn't realize it was a brother team. All this time I was accrediting it to just Tim!
Kudos to you.
1:09 is seriously magical
I wish the Folin brothers would produce more chiptunes 😢
haha! nice job guys
0:42 do you have a page, document, or anything else where you/someone else explain/s how to do this cleaning & upscaling? I have several instrument samples from Wario Land 4 that I would _love love love_ to give that treatment to! (I can also give you my discord if I need to.)
I feel the 4/4 part more like a 2/2, so it keeps the same tempo
This feels like a remaster of a garage bands first album, where its way better than the original master, made from the original tape, but somehow feels like a completely different recording.
This sounds like something that would be right at home on a Japanese bullet hell.
Please do Beach!!
If anyone else is thinking of remaking this music, well, you’ve more or less made it impossible for them.
I love everything about this, except the right side of the screen being cut off. It's mainly for listening, but why?
Key word listening
