Nice looks like fun. The perfect balance of a challenge and not being too hard. I’ve been to some trails at walker valley in Washington state and they are so tough that you question selling your bike if you accidentally take the wrong one. Being on the edge of a cliff is above my skill level. Keep up the good videos.
@@Captain250FX Do you remember what size yours was? I about to order the same one but my bike isn’t around to measure it right now. Keep up the good work on the videos. Fun to watch someone with the same bike!
June-September it gets really overgrown with ferns, and if it rained those rocks are super slippery even with gummy tires. Iv ripped two brake levers off and 1 buckle on my boots there. Moss Lake is even tighter than that I thought, just less rocks
Hi Captain: My wife and I are enjoying your videos; great job. They make my hands sweat! Question: I have a GoPro10 - What settings are you using? My videos suck. Keep up the good work! Hope to meet you on the trails. (Hopefully traveling in the same direction)
Thanks for watching! I always use Superview in 4k@30fps. Always use superview for dirt bike videos and also 4k. If you use 1080p it just gets all pixelated when you upload online. If you upload to TH-cam in 4k it forces TH-cam to assign your video a VP9 codec which is what you want. Hope this helps!
Hi Captain: Thanks for the tips on the Gopro settings. I'll try them next time out. Another quick question if I may.... This is my wife's first year on dirt bikes, so we're looking for good beginner trails. Could you make some recommendations please. We live in Holland and have a cabin near Luther . I went out on the Little Manistee for a ways but it was pretty whooped out. Suggestions please?
@@OFOffroad Little O, Cedar Creek are decent beginner trails. Everything in Michigan will have sand and whoops. Also M20 in White Cloud, Michigan is probably the easiest.
I wish this trail was closer to metro detroit but then again if it was closer it would be blown out by super fast guys who know how to ride whoops... :)
Captain, I love your videos and this trail looks nice. Question for you...So I have a 2019 WR250F, all uncorked and it's a woods beast and I love it. Of course all my buds are on KTM's and tell me I'm nuts. So what do you like so much about your FX that makes you resist the Orange wave? I need some support here...haha
The FX’s are a really aggressive bike, I need to have a bike I can count on! If your like me and keep a bike several years the Yamaha is hands down a better bike. KTM is shit in my opinion, built to be the lighter usually means less longevity. I know several people that have switched from KTM to these FX’s and said they would never go back. If I switched to anything it would probably be a Beta. It’s really hard to beat the Yamaha though, I would only get another bike if it was a secondary bike.
@@Captain250FX I can't agree more. Bought my WR new, have over 230 hours on it and it has performed flawlessly with no issues. So far it's never let me down and inspires such confidence on the trails. I'm looking forward to their 2023 lineup. If I upgrade it will be blue. By the way I'm here in GA and ride Highland Park quite a bit. Thanks for your thoughts.
As I mentioned in the video I was feeling under the weather the day we rode this trail so unfortunately I didn’t film the best parts, next year!
Did you add a fan to your 250fx ?
@@livingforjesuschrist7761 yes I bought the GYTR fan.
Great stuff, I'm recieving mine in 2 weeks, can't wait. I get a little nervous when not moving fast enough while hitting the single tracks.
I’ll be in the UP first week of August. These videos are getting me pumped to explore more than usual.
Sweet! Bring your bug spray! We also rode Bass Lake.
On my 2024 list 🤘🤘
🤙
Great video! That's one thing about living in AZ we don't have a lot of mosquitos or bugs! UP looks awesome! 🤘
Thanks Bart! U.P. Is a completely different world and terrain than the lower peninsula.
Absolutely beautiful trail
Sure was! We hit it before the ferns start to overtake it.
Have to hit this one for sure. Looks like I'll need to wait until late Sept or next spring if the ferns are as bad as I'm hearing. Thanks for posting!
It’s a good trail! Yes right now you probably would have very poor visibility due to ferns. First or second week in June is perfect!
That place looks awesome!
So much more than I showed on the video! You need to make a trip north sometime. We have tons of single track!
Looks like a blast man!
Thanks Tom, it’s a sweet trail!
Was up there a few years ago. Sweet trail.
Nice!

@@Captain250FX Do you have a spark arrestor on your bike? I know mine didn’t come with one.
@@mikeelliot8904 yes I just threw in a Fisch moto arrestor.

That looks like a nice trail. Yes evart is my favorite trail I have ridden so far. I might have to make a run from my cottage up here one day. 👍
It’s similar to Evart but a little harder and definitely tighter.
@@Captain250FX nice to know.
Great video, mind if I ask what go pro you use and what settings are you shooting it with.. Very good quality video as always.
Thanks Jon! Still using the GoPro 8 shooting in 4k@30fps in Superview!
great vid what gopro are you using?

That’s what I here about Moss Lake, probably his that one next spring. We just ran out of time this year.
Great video. One day could you make a video about the mapping you are running? I tried many maps and still dont like the engine braking on my 2018 FX
Thanks, will do!
Nice job
🤙🏽
Hey Cap! Hitting this trail on September 9th!!! Any tips or advice?!
Just have fun is about it! It’s a great and semi-technical trail.
Thanks Cap! Sage Advice!!!

Very true! You have to make a yearly trip out of it and hit other trails in the area.

Question did u stay up there an were did you ? Going to ride it Sept 10 an 11 th
Yes, we stayed at Rippling River campground in Marquette. It’s close to all the trails we rode and is a awesome campground!!
this looks like it would help me learn for hare scrambles but be slightly easier
Definitely easier, but still tight! It’s a great trail!
This Saturday, sometime just after noon. Anybody interested? I will camp out and ride Bass Lake Sunday. I dont mess around and like to just ride.
Working Saturday, but thanks. Hopefully I can get up that way next spring. Bass Lake is a 7hr drive for me! 🤪
How is it compared to Tomahawks loops?
Definitely more technical but still a lot of fun, highly recommend!
