These bad cgi movies look like the characters are made of rubber...they just don't move right
They’re so unbelievably stiff its crazy
Which is ironic because actual rubber hose style animation is incredibly fluid.
You know why you don't say that about the shows for Kung Fu Panda, Puss in Boots, Dragons, Madagascar, Monsters vs Aliens, Croods? Because those are not a trend. Because Twitter did not decide to gang up on them. Because y'all are either to fucking stupid to connect the dots, or just completely ignorant about it, not knowing what the hell you're talking about.
They look like this. DreamWorks has made these productions for well over a decade. It is your fault to expect something of theatrical quality. Now? We'll never get Megamind 2

@@GreydaCloud you did miss something. there's no copywrite on the word "minion", that was just a lame joke they made in the movie with a separate "minion" entity that was fake, in order to cover for the real life changing of Minion because of Despicable Me... I remember I called my exes kids each "Minion" because of Megamind, but everyone thought it was because of Despicable Me... I hated that
The new models don't even LOOK like the characters, they have this really uncanny valley sort of look to them. I legitimately thought this movie wasn't real I thought the covers were made by AI bc of how wrong they looked 😭

Frrr, and not even season 1 miraculous ladybug (when the budget was higher and at least looked somewhat decent). The models are just so... stiff and rubbery? And the lighting is horrible. It just looks cheap.

Minion's name change makes no sense at all. He's a character, that is his literally name he was given in universe. It's not like he's a company or brand, so his name being copyrighted and all that doesn't work at all. That's like saying someone can't be named Wendy because that's the name of a fast food chain
Tbf at the start of the first movie when megaminds mother gave him minion, she said “here is your minion” so to me I didn’t mind the change because minion didn’t have a name? But at the same time I’d probably rather they didn’t change it at all cause minion suits him more
@@sodapetsI think the point is more that it’s an absolute horrendous reason for the change. Like, they could have just said “Oh, I don’t want him to feel like my Minion anymore, so his name will be Chum now, cuz he’s my friend!” And that would have been fine, all’s good, and it’s very sweet.
No matter what people’s opinion on the name change is, this food chain copyright thing is total BS, and even for Cartoon logic is makes absolutely no sense. Nintendo doesn’t own the word Mario, Sega doesn’t own Sonic, Sonic doesn’t own Sonic, etc etc.

I just rewatched Megamind and got into a heated conversation with my siblings about how it was so good and worked well as a standalone movie that didn't need a sequel. So disappointed to hear they butchered one of the greatest cinematic masterpieces like this.

I know they could have done better with a spinoff series because Dreamworks did do MANY spinoff series that range from good to iconic (at least in my eyes). Heck, Dreamworks did the series and movie combo for The Penguins of Madagascar and both the series and movie were great! This is just a cash grab to ride off of Megamind's internet fame and it just fails.

Can’t say I agree about looking forward to better Megind movies. Megamind was built from the ground up with the express purpose of being a superhero PARODY that loops around into being an engaging story in its own right. He was NEVER meant to play all the tropes completely straight, that’s just not in his dna. It makes him the very thing he was designed to riff off of. Unless they can somehow come up with an entirely new fun way for him to subvert the genre, I’m perfectly satisfied with the standalone movie we’ve got

There were so many ways they could have played off some of the plot holes/things that make ZERO sense.
For example, the Doom Syndicate. Why not explain it as a teenage phase/club he made when he was finally out on his own? Realistically, he would be at a vulnerable point in his life and desperate for any approval he could get. Maybe he found a group during that time that was also villainous.
Hell, I'm not a writer, and i dont know how to make a script, but that makes so much more sense than "villain school."
I have severe ptsd with s*xual stuff, so I'm stuck watching stuff like this. I don't see it as weird being old and still watching kids movies because that's the majority of what I have to watch. There's a lot that I want to enjoy that I just can't.

My headcannon now for the Megamind universe is that "Megamind vs The Doom Syndicate" and the tv show never existed/never happened.😁 Either that or they were things made IN the universe that Megamind probably watched and was super confused about.
Megamind was one of the movies I missed growing up. I watched it as an adult very recently with my wife, hands down one of my favourite movies.

I’m all about having a doom syndicate, they already had one from the spin-off games and in early drafts of the first movie. But my god these aren’t even fun trope parodies like the first movie they’re just generic uninspired tropey villains. I bet that 50 randomly selected megamind fans could write a better sequel than whoever was in charge of this because if the original writers really wrote this I need to know what happened for them to produce such garbage.
I feel like we would enjoy the movie if they went through the shrek route, gave us three little baby megaminds!!!!

This Doom Syndicate disaster really reminded me how goated the og movie is, I was also excited to see a human alien hybrid child (hell I’m writing a fanfic about MM and Roxie’s daughter) all in all, we should forget this ever happened. Also to any aspiring writers and artists, if you ever have a moment of self doubt; you can just remember that this dumpster fire exists and you’ll feel better about your work and yourself (honestly you can do this with any kind of bad media as well), instead of a “movie” we should treat this as a good lesson of “what not to do” when writing

It wasn’t lost on us as kids that Minion was called a minion on Megamind’s original planet despite it being a peaceful planet, we remember, so implying that he’s only a Minion because of Megamind becoming a villain is dumb; he could have stayed Minion because he was always called Minion. I watched Cats Don't Dance 5 times in a row, back to back, the first time I saw it I enjoyed it so much. Definitely understand the hyperfixation rewatch compulsion. I've always had hyperfixation phases with things I love.
oh man i tried to watch it but i only got 7 minutes in because megamind and minion were already out of character and then they show roxanne and shes _also_ out of character and i. i couldnt do it. megamind the movie is like a gold bar and megamind doom syndicate is like if someone took a jagged rock off the ground and painted it a gross yellow-green color... and then the rock crumbles apart in your hand.

The thing about Megamind and Roxanne not being together is pretty good I think. In the first movie Megamind seriously broke the trust between them, it's not easy and it shouldn't be easy to just immediately trust him again, so them taking their possible relationship slowly is a healthy thing to do imo. Also yk Megamind had this mindset that because he's evil, he doesn't "get the girl" which is just not respectful to Roxanne, she is a person, not something to "get" by being good. They are really cute and fun together so I can totally see why them being kinda distant doesn't add to all the new stuff.

I relate so much! I absolutely loved Magamind (2010) when I was a kid. It's a masterpiece which I thank for my musical taste and bisexual awakening (god, Ms. Ritchi), by the way xD Then I rewatched it as an adult and it hit a little bit differently - I became legally obsessed! I consider it the best cartoon I've ever seen.
I deliberately forgot about "The doom button" 'cause, in my opinion, it just doesn't fit into the Universe. And now they are doing THIS to our babies...
Its not weird to watch or listen to your favorite things over and over... A lot of us obsessive compulsives do it. I also force myself to watch things just to "complete" the task and make sure I didn't miss anything, even when I'm 99% sure I won't enjoy it. Try and break yourself of these habits well your young. As a nearly 40 year old, I can tell you, it wasted much of my time, and times one thing you NEVER get back.
I’ve been seeing people take screenshots of the movie and poster and edit them to look like cutscenes and cover art for one of those terrible rushed licensed video games, but that comparison goes deeper than you think.
The Doom Syndicate was a scrapped concept from the original movie that was used for the megamind video games, though the DS in the games had completely different members for some reason.

Antz (DreamWorks very first animated movie from 1998) has better CGI and voice acting than Doom Syndicate which is saying a lot

Welp, I know I've said this a hundred times before but after watching The Bad Guys and Orion and The Dark since I don't care for The Last Wish,Teenage Kraken, and Trolls 3 because 1. Those annoying "DreamWorks vs Disney in a nutshell" memes ruined the movie for me and yet caused me to care less about the Shrek franchise now like how that "A Little Wild" spinoff caused me to care less about the Madagascar franchise and 2. I don't care for the Trolls franchise? I think I'd have this to say since I'm also not really looking foward to Kung Fu Panda 4 at all.
After when that stupid Megamind sequel happened? I decided to quit DreamWorks media until further notice, I'll take Disney+'s X-Men 97',Godzilla and Kong,The Garfield Movie,Paramount's Transformers One and Sonic 3 movies along with their Tales of the TMNT and Knuckles shows and Netflix's Ultraman Rising over that mess of a Megamind sequel anyday lmao.
