Wanna know what’s really sad? The voice actors are really good at what they do besides this. Keith Ferguson voiced Lord Hater, Bowlboy, and even REAPER from Overwatch. (funnily enough, he also replaces Owen Wilson as Lightning McQueen in some of the video games) And the Minion, I mean, 😩OL’ CHUM, voice actor also voiced Mark Beaks in the 2017 Ducktales reboot, and he was SO FUNNY! Everyone was happy, Megamind and Roxanne were in a shoping helping the crew with decorations and whatnot, there were kids around, happy to see Megamind, some of them were probably the couple's own children... And then the scene would cut to the town's other side, where some police officers were patrolling, spotting suspicious activity. Unfortunately, the dream ended there. I don't know what else might have been in store.
I like that the villain's plan kinda copies a plot point from Despicable Me 3 of all things, where the villain also wanted to send part of a city into space. Speaking of Despicable Me, I'm guessing they changed the name of Minion not because of Universal intervening but because Dreamworks thought kids would get him confused with the Despicable Me Minions. It's also ironic that they managed to get Will Ferrel for Despicable Me 4 but couldn't get him back for Megamind 2. Really says a lot.
All they had to do was have the second movie be about metroman wanting his old job back after getting bored as a musician. Basically have them compete in a bunch of games to decide who should be the protector of metro city and then have them team up to stop some kind of disaster like a metior or something about to hit the city. Then have a fragment of that meteor be shown to have been a pod and bam you could even make a third movie if you want to with the alien from that pod as the main antagonist of the third movie. If they had done this along with getting the voice actors and original crew who wrote the script back then this movie would have been just as good if not better than the first movie.

Here's something I would have done if I was given the task to make a megamind sequel first things first I would re-watch the original film 2 to 3 different times so I can get a really good grasp on what the concept of megamind is about Then I would bring in the Doom syndicate into the sequel but give them a new origin story making the megamind video game not canon to the franchise at all which is perfectly fine since nobody really played it or cared about it Possibly give them new designs to make them more intimidating as villains And give them a new origin story an origin story that could be as simple as this One of the members of the Doom syndicate could be a scientist while other folks could be random civilians who happen to have gotten power similar to that of what we see in the actual sequel itself but they actually look interesting The first try to use their powers to mess with megamind and then they tried to take it a step further of trying to take over the city and possibly the entire world and megamind and his new crew have to stop him For that girl character who's meant to be a sidekick I do one of two things either write her out of the story entirely or try to make her either be a parody of the sidekick archetype while also making her an interesting character in her own right that makes her worthy of being part of this new team megamind tries to form with her and Roxanne along with minion speaking of him I would also have him keep his name Another thing I would do is that if I want to make it as a sequel where it expands upon the themes and ideas that the first film did I would take the themes of the first film did and expand on them without contradicting the original themes and characterizations of how the characters were in the first movie (basically not pulling a Toy story 4) I will expand upon its themes and ideas that the original film had did without making the characters feel out of character or without retreading the same ground That is probably what I would do if I were to be given the task of making a true megamind sequel it probably won't be perfect but it'll at least be something Even if I wouldn't have the budget of the first movie to work on a project like this I would at least put some form of care into it as not only a standalone movie but as a true sequel to megamind if I were to be given that task I hope you had the time to read this and I hope you guys really liked what I have to say 😁 also btw the VA for megamind vs the doom syndacate acually played megamind in the video games so its not his first rodeo and yes the writters of the first film did write this as well.....film still sucks
It honestly looked like a tv series at first. I was getting major Kung Fu Panda on NickToons vibes just seeing the clips you posted here. It looks like they planned and produced a series, but then said f*ck it, and decided to splice it all together into a movie. I doubt we’re ever going to get an honest sequel, but if we did, I feel like it’d be super easy and in theme with Megamind’s style of meta humor to reference this movie as something Metroman produced in his free time. Therefore keeping it “canon” while not letting it impact the actual continuity.
ok so the way i remember the megamind ending megamind and roxane were 100% not together, he lied to her and betrayed her trust they are not together, but they're at a point where going forward its a thing that is possibly going to happen. this thematically has to be how the movie ends to make sense, because you can't end a movie where the main villian's thesis is "i'm the hero duh i deserve the girl" with "and so the girl forgets everything the hero did to her because obviously the hero gets the girl" the whole theme of the story is about how tighten treated roxane like she was the corner office that came with his position as the new metroman, not as an actual person, you can't just give her to megamind in the end like a prize.
At least we don't have Megamind 2 in Ba Sing Se. We are safe here. Well Dreamwork pressed AZ-5 button with that movie... The result is the same radiation in our minds and eyes. The brainrot is tragic faith that happens a lot. Colorful characters, stimulant picture, dumb stories. The future is scary. I turn on old cartoons or good stuff for my niece and its works! Thats how my Ba Sing Se works and not only that I always try play and talk with my niece. It helps because my brother-in-law is lazy asf and he take her to me or to my parents. Well she is my beloved family so I or my parents try to learn her things books playgrounds etc. not only TV and smartphone. While my sister who works a lot and my brother-in-law educate her to be typical gen alpha kid and it scares me...
This feels more based off of the Megamind series (megamind rules) - has a similar animation style and voice actors. I guess they just wanted to expand on that franchise, but nothing will beat the OG Megamind film.
Fun fact, the director of the new Megamind movie has never produced a single notable piece of film in his entire life. How he happened upon megamind is most definitely an affront to god.

All they had to do was have the second movie be about metroman wanting his old job back after getting bored as a musician. Basically have them compete in a bunch of games to decide who should be the protector of metro city and then have them team up to stop some kind of disaster like a metior or something about to hit the city. Then have a fragment of that meteor be shown to have been a pod and bam you could even make a third movie if you want to with the alien from that pod as the main antagonist of the third movie.
If they had done this along with getting the voice actors and original crew who wrote the script back then this movie would have been just as good if not better than the first movie.

@@Ryan41707 Not necessarily, sometimes artists (such as musicians) fall back on their dreams due to self doubt. They could have that be apart of the main story too having megamind help him recapture his love of music and even add PRESENTATION! to his concerts.

Here's something I would have done if I was given the task to make a megamind sequel first things first I would re-watch the original film 2 to 3 different times so I can get a really good grasp on what the concept of megamind is about
Then I would bring in the Doom syndicate into the sequel but give them a new origin story making the megamind video game not canon to the franchise at all which is perfectly fine since nobody really played it or cared about it
Possibly give them new designs to make them more intimidating as villains
And give them a new origin story an origin story that could be as simple as this
One of the members of the Doom syndicate could be a scientist while other folks could be random civilians who happen to have gotten power similar to that of what we see in the actual sequel itself but they actually look interesting
The first try to use their powers to mess with megamind and then they tried to take it a step further of trying to take over the city and possibly the entire world and megamind and his new crew have to stop him
For that girl character who's meant to be a sidekick I do one of two things either write her out of the story entirely or try to make her either be a parody of the sidekick archetype while also making her an interesting character in her own right that makes her worthy of being part of this new team megamind tries to form with her and Roxanne along with minion speaking of him I would also have him keep his name
Another thing I would do is that if I want to make it as a sequel where it expands upon the themes and ideas that the first film did I would take the themes of the first film did and expand on them without contradicting the original themes and characterizations of how the characters were in the first movie (basically not pulling a Toy story 4)
I will expand upon its themes and ideas that the original film had did without making the characters feel out of character or without retreading the same ground
That is probably what I would do if I were to be given the task of making a true megamind sequel it probably won't be perfect but it'll at least be something
Even if I wouldn't have the budget of the first movie to work on a project like this I would at least put some form of care into it as not only a standalone movie but as a true sequel to megamind if I were to be given that task

It honestly looked like a tv series at first. I was getting major Kung Fu Panda on NickToons vibes just seeing the clips you posted here.
It looks like they planned and produced a series, but then said f*ck it, and decided to splice it all together into a movie.
I doubt we’re ever going to get an honest sequel, but if we did, I feel like it’d be super easy and in theme with Megamind’s style of meta humor to reference this movie as something Metroman produced in his free time. Therefore keeping it “canon” while not letting it impact the actual continuity.

ok so the way i remember the megamind ending megamind and roxane were 100% not together, he lied to her and betrayed her trust they are not together, but they're at a point where going forward its a thing that is possibly going to happen. this thematically has to be how the movie ends to make sense, because you can't end a movie where the main villian's thesis is "i'm the hero duh i deserve the girl" with "and so the girl forgets everything the hero did to her because obviously the hero gets the girl" the whole theme of the story is about how tighten treated roxane like she was the corner office that came with his position as the new metroman, not as an actual person, you can't just give her to megamind in the end like a prize.

At least we don't have Megamind 2 in Ba Sing Se. We are safe here. Well Dreamwork pressed AZ-5 button with that movie... The result is the same radiation in our minds and eyes. The brainrot is tragic faith that happens a lot. Colorful characters, stimulant picture, dumb stories. The future is scary. I turn on old cartoons or good stuff for my niece and its works! Thats how my Ba Sing Se works and not only that I always try play and talk with my niece. It helps because my brother-in-law is lazy asf and he take her to me or to my parents. Well she is my beloved family so I or my parents try to learn her things books playgrounds etc. not only TV and smartphone. While my sister who works a lot and my brother-in-law educate her to be typical gen alpha kid and it scares me...

This feels more based off of the Megamind series (megamind rules) - has a similar animation style and voice actors. I guess they just wanted to expand on that franchise, but nothing will beat the OG Megamind film.
Fun fact, the director of the new Megamind movie has never produced a single notable piece of film in his entire life. How he happened upon megamind is most definitely an affront to god.
