Hi Chris - I enjoyed the trip around that part of Iowa with some great aerial footage and the time lapse. That lone tree along the road side through the crop fields typifies my imagination of American agricultural land. Very interesting to hear how the hills were formed from dust too ! Great artistry imagery and music 🎵👍🏻👍🏻
I will admit, I was one of those people...I started that road trip wanting to photograph the covered bridges in Iowa (Bridges of Madison County inspired) and came across the Loess Hills, It was such a beautiful area, I changed my whole trip, really glad I got to experience it.
Great Video, Hi Chris, I hope you are well, I've just been looking through my subscriber list to see if i had missed and Videos, you produce Great Videos, but not for a while. I hope you have a new Video soon, Can't wait! Thanks Tony
Hey Tony, yeah, it's been a while...as I came back from my trip to Oregon i started a new job in April and it has been 80 hour weeks all summer long. The few times when I had a few hours off to go shoot, smoke from wildfires out west was snuffing out any sky or light so haven't had much opportunity. The huge project I have been working on all summer finally ended yesterday, so hoping I will be able to get back out with the camera in the next couple weeks. Hope you're well!
Hey Ben! I've been lugging that drone around for weeks hoping to be able to be in a place where I can use it. Colorado is pretty strict about it, Iowa, not so much. Thanks for watching!
@@ChristopherCina Yeah that's understandable haha. I think that's one of the biggest issues I have about buying a drone is where you can and can't use it, it's such a grey area. Glad you got to use it :)
Great video Christopher! Who knew Iowa could be so beautiful?! Glad to have found your channel! Loved the shots especially from the backroads. I especially liked the one of the road with the lone tree! Hope you are doing well and can't wait to see more content! Have a great week and stay safe!
Hey Paul, thanks for subscribing! I've been enjoying your videos for a while. I really enjoyed the the UK VS USA vid, also your storm vids. You should know though, I'm a HUGE Chelsea fan so expect a little stick when Frank tramples Ole!
@@ChristopherCina hahahahahaha I accept all kinds, even Chelsea fans 😂 Well, glad to know that we are following each other. I'm off today, gonna catch up on some of your past videos as well! Glad you liked the UK/USA challenge, that was a lot of fun to do! Have yourself a great weekend and stay safe out there!
I came in from the Nebraska side so I started in Omaha, crossed the border drove south and hour and turned off the first dirt road I saw, most of the backroads aren't even paved, similar to Colorado. Coming from Chicago wouldn't be hard, just need to head directly west, once you cross the Mississippi, you can just get lost. If you want something more specific, head to Clinton, IA from Chicago and jump n the Lincoln Highway heritage byway. Lots of tiny towns and backroads to explore.
Nice stuff. FYI the correct pronunciation of the name of the soil type of those hills, based on the original German is LUS. The only other place in the world where soil based hills like that are found is in China.
Ha! Thanks, I've heard so many different pronunciations of Loess, I just picked one and went with it! Hoping to get back to that area later this year, thanks for watching!

Thanks Andrew... That was my first time in Iowa, honestly didn't know what to expect but I'm looking forward to going bach there some time.
So much woody encroachment, what a marvel it must have been to see these hills without all the invasive trees that have taken over.
Thanks for watching, I had a lot of fun making this video.
Most people who say that "the Midwest is boring and flat" have never been there... It is spectacular and beautiful.
