Nice video and images, Scott. I felt quite rushed the day I was there, as thunder storm was moving up the valley...and my wife was waiting in the car!😁 For my image, I was going to a bit of tension, hence the really tight framing. I also didn't apply any perspective corrections, since I wanted to emphasise keystoning....force the viewers eyes from the church, and upwards. I flipped back to a vertical orientation, to capture the interesting clouds. Cheers!
I find it interesting to instill tension for a church, when a church is there to relieve tension in people's lives. But you explained it saying you wanted us to look upwards, which makes sense, in a spiritual kind of way.
I wasn't rushed while we were there, but it was 40 degrees out at that time, so I didn't stay and shoot as much as I wanted. I wanted to shoot an infrared roll there, but declined after being there for a bit. I also forgot to shoot some digital shots there as well. But I did get some shots I was happy with.
And that is why I rarely do any photography in Thompson during the Summer months! Bloody hot! The spot where my mom's ashes are (up in the hills above Kamloops) is near Monte Creek. I'm planning on heading there the coming week. Hopefully Autumn hasn't left the little church yet...
@analogueandy8x10 you'll have to stop at the church again and do some new shots. Hey you can even shoot some color this time, with the fall leaves. Love to see what you'd come up with this time, especially since you wouldn't be rushed this time. Think of all the shots you could take, and finally get some pics of the bench seat by the tree as well. Maybe even try to get some infrared like I wanted to, as long as you get some sun.
@@braxus351W I did shoot some colour there, but with my phone. I doubt I'll shoot infrared, but you never know! I'll probably have the 8x10, and the RB, so I could also shoot colour films, since I have quite a few rolls now. I might even bring along the 14x17. My wife will be with me, so there still will be some time pressures...especially if a bathroom break is required, as there are no toilets!
