    how about doing a trip to the Netherlands? the ferry to Hoek van Holland to either Rotterdam or Kustrout to Harlem?. You will love the Netherlands and the safe Fietspad. I'm going this Friday (5th trip) and before I go I always think of your "PUFFiN" quote. You would love it.

      That would be lovely but cycling there looks INTENSE

      Amsterdam is a bit intimidating, but the rest of it is lovely. Old cities (all traffic calmed) like Leiden, Dordrecht, Den Bosch and the glory of the Rhine. Eurovelo route 15. And I am definitely a PUFFIN. Thanks.

    Great to have you guys back on two wheels. I've recently been rerunning Season (Series?) 1 to fill the odd free 30 minutes and it's good to see from the short taster at the end here that Alexei's skills as a narrator are still as finely honed as ever. Cheers 👍🏼

    You know you zigzag a hillclimb, don’t you? Straight up is a cadence madness. The seats on the e-bikes seem too close and aren’t allowing your torsos to stretch out: rule of thumb: elbow on the front point of the seat with arm and hand stretched to the handlebars with longest finger just lightly brushing past it. Adjust seat back and forth and or replace handle bar stem with suitably longer horizontal extension if necessary. They are not Vespers but the fat wheels look great!

    Lexxie in a helmet, riding a lekky bike, never thought id see the day, looking forward to some "riding round London" vids on this monster !, my only problem with these bikes is, as Lexxie pointed out, you cant get off the bloody thing and park it, even locked, it would be whizzed in an instant !

    It’s annoying that if you set your car’s speed limiter to 20mph, you will take about 200 metres to overtake scooters and electric bikes. Therefore I think keeping their speed down is essential. But! I don’t see why we aren’t building separate infrastructure much faster.
    That’s my two pennorth.

    • @banksarenotyourfriends
      @banksarenotyourfriends ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed. When they first came on sale I rode one that wasn't speed restricted for months and I nearly got taken out a few times because cars took too long to pass me. Sometimes I'd have a nervous driver following me for half a mile before they'd get the courage to try and pass. In the end I bought a legal one that does 15.5mph and I feel a lot safer now.
      I live in the sticks though, so the traffic is mostly doing 40-60mph, perhaps in a city it would make more sense to have a bike that can do 25mph and just keep up with the traffic without holding it up too often.

    • @StupotTaylor
      @StupotTaylor ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Agreed - 25 would be good in much of my city. We can pray for separate infrastructure but it won’t happen for a long time. 👍🏼

    Is there any chance of this brand of Chinese e-bike catching on fire during thermal runaway and spontaneously combusting if left on charge overnight in the hallway? Has the charger and battery got a BSEN number?

  • @bernadetteoliver290

    Good video. You guys look like Harley Davidson riders. Be careful about coming home to a real home fire based on the reputation of e-bike batteries. What would Pete Matthews think.
