I usually purchase mine off of eBay or other auctions. Prices seem to be more reasonable than target and similar stores or card shops. But yes, prices are INSANE. There needs to be some kind of market correction.

I agree i’ve hit some insane cards opening product and it’s so much fun! I don’t open product to “make money” i really do enjoy it. The only think i do mind is paying $40 a box, simply because i used to pay $20. But thanks i try and keep a positive attitude through it all high and low.

Since flippers and shady vendors have been gobbling up Optic Football and Prizm Basketball, I've spent more on hobby boxes. Now, I'd rather leave most retail alone, and pay a few dollars more for guaranteed hits. Plus, there are numerous reduced or undervalued hobby boxes that you can purchase online or via LCS.

I learned along time ago to let everyone else chase the hot players and to only collect who you like. And when I did open packs I would sell every big card at it's height.

Collecting is fun. when you try and do it as a side hustle or job that’s when things can get overwhelming. but if you see a card you like on ebay and buy it because you like it. that’s when you’ll have fun opening boxes to try and make money is never a good thing.
For some products I am waiting for black Friday deals or any other discounts. I don't necessarily need the latest product immediately. I guess I'm always a bargain hunter. $20-$25 seems reasonable for blasters. I wonder how inflation has affected the prices of wax.
That’s exactly where my price range is. i was looking at old posts and people were re selling 2020 topps chrome mega boxes for $70 now that’s what walmart and target sell them for lol crazy times. Inflation has to be a part of it. I’m sure fanatics and panini want to pay their employees good so in turn they have to get revenue some way.
So you mentioned about the price of wax now in retail and Walmart has 24 chrome blasters for $44.98 so almost $50 with tax. I said that if blasters ever hit $50 before tax, I’m done with the hobby cause that’s just ridiculous.

I thought I might get out of collecting totally, but I still enjoy the hobby. Just a matter of the ripping part became a complete waste. I’d rather get rid of the clutter and collect singles of things I really want.

Seems like a terrible idea to move the cards to a secluded location knowing damn well theft on them is crazy! I only buy football I leave everything else I keep telling myself it’ll make some kid’s day if they have what they want.
