Will you tryout getting your cards graded with GameStop?
I would
Maybe but when is part 2 I wanna see the grades
I would. I dont really know how the process works, so this is pretty straightforward
No coz they will make the worst out of it...thats gamestop.
@friendlyhuman6958 i feel like the only problems you would come across is sending in fake cards and thinking you'll get your $16 processing fee back lol. Even the buying process seems fair
This GameStop employee Keith is a legend! He was so genuine and helpful and nice. I would use GameStop to submit to psa if I could go through Keith.
Give that guy a raise
For real
Three cheers for Kieth!
Hoping leonhart gave a good tip off camera

This is by far the best gamestop employee i've ever seen...this man deserves a raise and should teach a class on customer service at GameStop corporate
So... it's a middle man scam...
When your kids Charzard comes back unexpectedly worth $10,000 and Mom can't afford the $800 fee, GameStop gets to write you their "maximum" offer limit of $1,500 and force you to sell the card to them for 15% of it's value.. and keep $8,500 from you... instead of selling it for you on commission...
RIP all those kids whose Dad's do this with their 5 figure card collections to pay for college and find out they can't afford to get them back...

Not even 2 minutes in and the game stop employee is already legendary for allowing you to create this content and being a great host at the same time. Kudos brothers
Considering this is a fairly new service for GameStop to offer, and having worked in customer service myself before and knowing how difficult it can ve for longer serving staff members to fully grasp a new process, I have to say that Keith handled everything exceptionally well. Not only that, he spoke with the knowledge and conviction of someone who had been taking grading submissions through the company for 20 years!
GameStop NEED to make him employee of the year, because everything about that interaction was as close to perfection as you could wish.
Keith, if you're reading this, you're a legend.

Keith is the absolute goat. He didn’t need to do all that. Great look for GameStop.
Ok
The gamestop employee seems like a really good dude who takes pride in his work. A refreshing welcome compared to some of the other gamestop employees you see or hear about.
The Game Stop employee, Keith, did a phenomenal job with you. He was cool, calm, collected and very patient with you through the entire process. This encourages me to use GameStop for card grading.

And he answered any question on the go with confidence. That's an employee that knows his job very well, which is a rare thing in retail
Keith was very professional about answering all of your questions and explained the process super well, good video and a good in depth look at this process for people who might be interested!
Damn, you actually got the best GameStop employee to go through this. I'm surprised at how well he knew the process and how helpful he was. Get this man a raise!
as a 3 month employee for gamestop who just did the training for psa yesterday u asked alot of questions i wouldn’t have the answers to if someone came in asking about it i learned alot from this video thanks man
sounds like they should have employees watch this video for there training.
Agreed. The question is how this process will be applied to all locations on launch and if the training will be lack luster at other locations
So, the training isn't fit for purpose, obviously 😅
Ok
@@TheMadMedekthey will probably refer thier employees to this video
That has to be the best GameStop employee I have ever seen or heard of. So polite and professional. What a G
I dunno what it is about the DFW area, but there's quite a few stores with employees like Keith. I've actually met Keith before and there are at least 3 different locations I know of where they're all very much like him. I wonder if it has something to do with ownership and them being very selective to hire people like them.
@SweetLeavesXbox1 I remember those days too, but I haven't had that experience in a long time. I avoided gamestops like the plague for the same reasons you listed. Maybe they've had a work culture change because all the ones I've been too recently have been great. Wonderful staff who are very helpful.
I stopped grading with PSA since they gave my Scream Pikachu a 4. I sold it and the guy resent it and it got a 10. Hilarious.
However, very smart move from Gamestop! Lots of people will have access to grading now.
The guy in the video was great. Give him a raise 👏
NEEDS a raise...i coudn imagine grilling an employee that long...im like 4 mins in a hes just none stop asking him questions like hes a tour guide
@@Red4350 That's just customer service. I've dealt with these situations before where random customers throw out tons of questions from nowhere but im pretty sure Leonhart asked for him to give the in-depth explanation of the process beforehand, not just walk in and bombard the guy lol.
@@Zenoroth1 Yeah. I am almost certain he spoke to them well before they started filming. They probably made an appointment and brought in the specific guy and then had Leonhart come in before the store opened to ask his questions. @@Zenoroth1 ah ok cool ty...yeah i work customers service so i get that..but ppl dont ask me every single question about something just nonstop...so yeah prob asked them beforehand...for me customers usually they know what they want and just need a few questions to make sure
He definitely deserves a raise. He’s convinced me and who knows how many millions to trust GameStop with my cards!
Gamestop is about to change the landscape in card grading. This is well done, and needed for casual fans wanting to simply grade a few hits without the hassle.
This is actually really cheap to grade with PSA this way. Normally you get charged 10% of expected card value to grade through PSA. So being a flat $15 is a great deal.
Actually never mind lol, I got further into the video and he explained the upcharges from PSA. I was assuming gamestop had a deal with PSA to grade at a flat rate for their customers.
My concern is GameStop acts as the middle man and hides the surge charge likely in most cases, then a kid finds out he cant even afford to reclaim his card and is forced to let gamestop keep it for store credit or whatever at a fraction of it's value... and note 28:50 "Gamestop will pay a maximum of $1500 for a card" so... when Mom can't afford to pay the hidden fees to reclaim her sons $10,000 charzard... gamestop gets to keep it for $1500

This is such a great way for younger pokemon fans to get their cards graded, also that employee came across very professional and knew the process quite well for a new service. Also I can't imagine many employees being cool with you filming 😅
Canada too? This is an awesome option!
Ofcoarse they let him film. This is free advertising for GameStop. It's almost like GameStop paid him to do this.
My guess is he talked to the person there before he actually began to film. I wouldn't be surprised if that Gamestop was actually closed and hadn't opened yet when he went in to film. I also wouldn't be surprised if they specifically brought this guy in because he was an expert on cards and worked at Gamestop.
@@iceman3317 hadn't considered that, but still if they can make sure all employees give the same help and advice it'll definitely be an easier option for the average collector. I do also really like the way they document the cards they're sending for both the customer and their protection

85% of market value is very good considering eBay takes 15% off the top. Plus you don’t have to worry about shipping.

Damn with pro membership they were buying your card around 85%. Getting even 70% at your local shop or convention is hard enough. That's pretty cool
Yeah, I was really surprised at that. I thought generally collectibles you shouldn't expect to get more than 2/3 of the value when selling it to a reseller. GameStop won't even give you anything close to that for an actual game.
It’s smart on them for paying more than card shops , this will get many people to grade with them and sell back to them and many more people will buy the GameStop membership
@@c7a865 Definitely gives them the best shot at being the Go-To place for grading cards/selling them but I doubt they'll be able to uphold this long term.

Ngl. With the way gamestop was going. I'm kind of amazed how consumer friendly they are being about this. They definitely aren't known for it but they are literally doing things better than the grading companies themselves. With proper insurance, reasonable charges, and basically zero hassle. On top of just actually properly working with people which is basically something no local card shops or PSA themselves do. Always feels like people are trying to screw you over and having this as an option to avoid all that is kind of huge.
Super impressed with Keith, really knew his stuff considering submitting to PSA is a new service. Answered every question so well!

Happy to see this video blowing up. You deserve it, Lee!
Holy Moly he's here
I think its cool gamestop is having cards graded. Think I trust that more than sending them in the mail.
Also dont forget with the gamestop membership you get a $5 coupon every month which could be used for a "free" pack of cards or whatever else. I think that's worth the $25 membership alone. And the free shipping for grading cards is cool too
You don't feel comfortable having your cards in the mail, yet you're enthusiastic about free shipping? They still mail your cards out. Game Stop does nothing except aid in the process of mailing, and receiving the mail that goes to who they use to actually grade the cards. You dropped your consistency somewhere.
@@Unpopular_0pinion "liability"

Funny enough I met Keith while traveling and I randomly popped into a GameStop! Crazy to see him on YT, small world.
The audacity of grading companies upcharging on the VALUE OF YOUR CARD in my eyes is criminal. The value has nothing to do with the grading, this also proves they grade based on market value AND IT WILL AFFECT YOUR GRADE, I can't believe people submit cards to these thieves.
Yeah, this part really seems weird. It's a service? but like if you have a valuable card you'll get taxed... this is wrong.
If I understood it correctly, then the upcharge is simply to make sure that the card is properly insured, because you'd otherwise only get $200 back if your $500 card gets lost (if you declare a $200 estimate)
It's literally if you're card is over $500 market value the tax is $9 which in my opinion ain't bad
You have never graded then. PSA charges differently to grade your card BASES ON IT'S VALUE AFTER IT IS GRADED. They are simply upcharging what PSA would upcahrge in the first place. Please do some research before spewing nonsense.
That's for insurance. Basically you pay an amount of money where if one of every 10 cards gets lost in the mail, or stolen from the mail, they're not in a financial hole they can't climb out of, so you pay 10% of the cards value if it exceeds the basic value threshold. They don't expect to lose 10% of cards, but they have wiggle room for the ones that DO fall through the cracks. They couldn't afford to grade valuable cards if a charizard being stolen from the mail would invalidate the next 5,000 or so cards they grade
Man, this is going to be huge for Gamestop! They are really getting to be a handy company for card folks! You get better benefits than having the $150/year plaginum membership with PSA! Saving on shipping back and fourth saves around $100 or more! Very happy people will be able to grade without all the stri gs attached!❤🎉 Very Cool!
