I call my sims 3 game a "Sims Empire". I am now on my 7th generation of sim family. I started with a sim a created myself and had him marry a local in Bridgeport. I made the starting line to be at the top of their careers. Then they'd have kids who are also required to be at the top of their careers before they get married. The kids can live with a lover, but that lover must also reach the top of their careers before they can get married and have kids of their own. I am on my 7th generation now. Part of my challenge is buying all possible establishments and naming them in honor of the family name or relatives. I also built a resort that is required to be maintained by each generation. The challenge is not one sim in the bloodline or their spouse can have the same career that has already been chosen by a past family member. It's been 10 years and I haven't stopped playing sims 3 because of how I play the game.
Sims family empire sounds very interesting. I am always pushing for top of the career. Do you use save clearner and stuff? Let me know how you play a save for that long, lots of people come to me with questions on how to keep it running well.
@@Rekowcski I have a no cheats rule and I don't have any mods. All I have are all the games and stuff packs and downloadable content. I'm usually too lazy to do the point system for legacies but I do follow the rules I set for myself strictly (currently have a Strict Equality gender law + Exemplar heir law with the Confident trait). I prefer Sims 3 and 4 for legacies/rags to riches and 2 for rotations but I've done a little bit of everything in every game. Lepacy so far has been very different since it's more about exploring the pack that the generation is on rather than rules for continuing your family. Moving worlds is encouraged, don't need to start rags to riches style if you don't want to, no real restrictions beyond "A “generation” is completed when the Lifetime Wish is fulfilled." and the LTW of course being specific to the pack you're currently on.
i am going to play a lepacy in my free time to explore a couple packs in depth, i've done so many rags to riches that now I just like to start with maybe 10k to build a house, nothing fancy, but the needs get met so i can focus on the actual content

There's one issue I have with the rules which is unclear. The rules specifically state that Sims can't be resurrected or have their live-spans expanded or so on, but there's two things which seem unclear- 1. Does getting spared by the reaper count as getting resurrected? Like what can sometimes happen by chance? 2. If being spared is allowed, does that mean that the unlucky trait is or isn't banned? Since Sims with Unlucky have bad things happen to them more often, but in exchange they're immune to all forms of death that aren't natural causes, because the reaper will always pity them enough to bring them back to life- It sort of feels like the rules forget just how powerful unlucky sims can be in this context-
