Keep in mind, you can get the S21 renewed/refurbished for a mid-range price. Of course idk what your budget is but you can get the phone reliably for under $600 on places like BackMarket and Amazon Renewed, and sometimes even under $500
Brilliant video , thanks ! We have the Snapdragon 888 processor here in the UK too , on the S21 FE 5G edition. The S21 5G would be physically too small for many too , folks are edging to the larger screens ! There are VERY cheap contract buys here now in the U.K. for the FE edition - the total cost for the contract ( excluding data/minutes/texts ) comes out at £240 for the handset , paid over 24 months ! !
After 6 months of use of S21FE, I do love it but I would prefer S21 for its smaller screen. It's hard to accurately tap the top and bottom of the screen without having to move the phone in my palm. And I'm a grown man with normal sized hands. S21 was an option when buying but it was 40% more expensive, so I went for the FE and got it for a great price.
In my case, I live in an area where I can only get Exynos Samsungs, which for me is an instant deal breaker. Except... the 21 FE I could find in Snapdragon. Which is why I'm now waiting for my 21 FE to be delivered. Not only cheaper than the S22, of course (by a fair amount) but again - I'd much rather have an S21 FE Snapdragon, than an S22 Exynos, and certainly much rather than an S21 Exynos Also, since it's a one year newer device than the S21, it will get updates a year longer, so there's that. Frankly, it sucks that all these devices come in two variants, Snapdragon and Exynos - most of the problems you hear about are always Exynos. So you can't just buy a Samsung after reading a review of the phone, because if the reviewer had a Snapdragon unit that rocked, and you get an Exynos unit that's much worse, the review you watched to buy it was not only useless but misleading. Phone reviewers need to emphasize this fact more, that there are two classes of Samsung flagships, good ones, and then and Exynos...
The S21 Fe has a different 120hz refresh rate it's high and not adaptive like reg S21 so it going use more battery since the refresh rate doesn't change it stays at 120 HZ all time unlike the S21 which can go down to 48 hz to save battery.
I have a S20 FE....what i do is set up bixby routines that if my battery falls, below 80 percent my phone will automatically drop the refresh rate. Pro tip 👌

I think the S21FE is more for those who want to try Samsung for the first time. And also maybe those who are skeptical about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. Although it's rocking old specs, at least you can get it brand new compared to the S21 series flagships that are already used or renewed at the same price. And maybe also due to the longer security updates compared to the remainder of the flagship S21s'. It's like they're bringing last year's flagship-ish experience this year for people who aren't looking to spend big for a new Samsung phone. Or Samsung really just messed up and will lose Millions if they don't sell the S21FE because they weren't able to cancel production since the deals have already been made and they couldn't back out of it anymore. Tsk.
I'm a size guy so the S21 flagship was always too small me. That's why I will wait for the eventual price drops on the S21 FE and pick it up for around $500 dollars 😎
I always stay 1 version behind the latest version, so I am just upgrading to the S21 as it is far cheaper on contract now that the S22 is released. I toyed with the idea of going over to Apple but after using both the iPhone 12/13 and S21 side by side I really can't justify that. I also looked at the S21 FE and you are right, the monthly contract cost in the UK is more than the standard S21 so again for me that really can't be justified. Really happy with my S21 and now certain that I made the right choice 😀
Doing the same, apparently my local store has already gotten rid of its 21s and the 22 isn't in yet.. But they have the FE so that's how i ended up here
The vanilla S21 is better than S21 FE better materials, better Exynos 2100 vs SD888 an more compact phone. You see the differences when you have both in your hand

Looking at getting a used phone and this review helped a lot. When I reviewed the specs between the two, it seemed like the S21 FE had a better battery life and front camera, but just not as much RAM. The S21 FE on Reebelo is slightly cheaper S21, so it was very tempting. I'm glad I found your video. I appreciated your video pointing out that the even though the FE has a larger battery, with a larger display it has similar battery life when comparing with S21. Also good point with the pixel size not always equaling better photo quality. It think I'm going to pay the extra $20 and get the S21.
I like the bigger screen on the Fe , I think 🤔 the pixel 6 is a better value , mainly better photos and software , and hardware, the Fe looks outdated compared to pixel 6 . Really the Fe really feels like Samsung A52 5g with a big chip set .
I think you didnt realize when you did the video but the s21 fe seems to have 2 sims to it when you took it out it said 1 on one side and 2 on th3 second side so they might be back to back like ÷ the devide side each dot is a card :) around 3:25 on the video 😊
Honestly the fact the FE is in between size of S21 and S21+ makes it more desirable and the fact you're getting a brand new phone released basically on the current time-line. I would never buy a refurbished phone
Nice comparison between the two phones. I will wait for a detailed review of the S22 before deciding which one i would buy. For now I'm more to S21 FE, because of the software updates and the battery
@@imgettingold9407 ya your right. I own the s22 now and actually its not terrible I mostly use social media and TH-cam and get around 7 hours sot. Phones nowadays should be getting more than that
Great video, will wait for the S22 to arrive and see what happens with the pricing etc and take it from there, will be good to see a S21 FE vs S22 video later this month
Thanks for your video. The price comparison is a little unfair. In the video, yes you showed that the S21 flagship was cheaper than the S21 FE, however those cheaper prices are for renewed or refurbished phones.
I just got mine for $499 in the US 🇺🇸. I miss when phones were loaded and reasonable in cost... Personally I don't need 8k photos but I prefer a 3.5 m headphone jack then wireless earbuds.
The screen difference between the 2 is the flagship has an LTPO (dynamic) 120Hz screen while the FE doesn't have that. This means the flagship can go from 1 Hz to 120 Hz which allows it to save more battery. The FE doesn't have this.
I have the S21 FE simply because I found one for a good price, but I have no idea why they made this phone initially. It seems like the S21 is slightly better and they're basically the same price. Not sure what Samsung is thinking. They should have at least added a headphone jack and an SD card slot in the FE.
Despite how old this video is, I did get one good peice of info from it in combination with a random comment. Toggle off background usage for most if not all apps despite what phone I have. Thank you. 👍
how quickly did you get used to the bigger screen? Does the larger size and weight bother you? I also want to change my S10e. I love lightweight smartphones to carry in my pocket and play sports, but I want a bigger screen than the S10e.
The S21 display is miles better - it supports refresh rates from 10 to 120Hz, while the FE is stuck on 60 or 120 - huge battery life difference definitely worth noting.
The fact that the fe is on sale in most outlets is what makes it a good deal . Plus it has a bigger battery an screen and should get a year more updates. Remember a used s21 well have a year old battery
it only has a bigger battery due to the 120hz only screen because 120hz only uses up way more battery unlike the S21 with its 120hz adaptive refresh rate
You can snag a OPEN BOX s21fe with 256GB storage and 8GB ram on EBAY for about 500 dollars now. So I am strongly recommending the s21 fe as an alternative to the s21 or 22!
Can you please label the phones? They looked like they moved out got swapped a couple times OR FE was faster? I don't really nerd out on phones, but I need an upgrade for the DJI pocket 2. Just keeping them labelled would help out a lot.
I got S21 for $40 cheaper than S21 FE. But even if its +$40 it makes no sense to go for FE. (Spoiler: No matter what samsung says both phones will get similar update lifecycle.)
I got the S21 Fe and yes it may be overpriced but me as a user who prefers 6.4 inch display I prefer the s21 rather than the s20 fe or regular s21 flagship device. Oh boy and how I hated the s20 fe design as well

Its January of 2023. I usually purchase my phones on Amazon as Renewed. I was looking to upgrade my S10+ and I was looking at the 21 and 21fe. Ultimately I ended going with the 21fe because of the screen size because I watch a ton of movies on my phone and camera/ram and stuff is not too important to me. The two phones were priced extremely affordable at $270 for both the s21 and s21fe and both were renewed in excellent condition.
Just bought the S21 FE (Exynos 2100 variant) yesterday. I'm actually loving it coming from the Galaxy A32, everything seems so much snappy and smooth. I got the S21 FE brand new here in Pakistan and the S21 would be used. I got it for roughly $550 and I think its almost no worse than the S23 except maybe for the processor which isn't a massive upgrade. Moreover, iPhone's here are crazy expensive. The iPhone 14 (base variant) costs $1200 because of taxes so really a no go for me. Get the S21 FE if it's cheaper than the S23 or S22.
Dude lol S23 is better than the S21 FE in almost every single thing. Yes it is double the price as well but it is a much, much better phone. It's on a different level altogether.
Picked up S21 FE. Honey gave me $100, and Samsung gave me a chrome book and an more than my Note10 was worth as a trade in credit. Value wise about $200 cheaper than S21 so worth it for me.
Bought the S21 FE and used it for Zoom meeting. After 30 minutes it shut down due to overheating. Exynos 2100 sucks. Don't recommend it. The declining price of the S21 FE is probably due to this lack in performance.
I dont think that about year later release is bad thing, actually for me that just sounds that he will be longer supported than other s21 series phones,

Our decision was made because of our phone plan. Thru the plan we have, the wife and I can get them for free, plus tax of course. So at 7% we're looking at just over 1 bill for 2 budget flagships. Not bad. And they didn't sacrifice too awful much to deliver great performance. Are the features a micro second slower? Yes. Are the cameras a hair less than the flagships, that all depends on the eye of the consumer. But I think overall, it's worth it.
First of all, thank you so much for your review. And I am so confused😅 I read comments that S21 FE's selfie camera is better than S21 flagship. But now I see in your video that the S21 flagship selfie cam is better & more detailed. I use the selfie camera quite a lot, it's important to me. If the selfie camera is important to you, you would choose the S21 flagship, right?

My carrier is giving away the s20 FE right now . I picked one up because imo with the SD card slot and they're offering the s21 Fe with only 6gb compared to 8gb on the s20 FE . I can tell the difference between 8 and 6gb too.
I watched about 2 dozen videos on the s21 fe the last week because I was able to buy a new in box at $200us. I am currently using an S9+ I bought in 2021 from Samsungs Certified pre owned store. I was stuck with Android 10 and one ui 2.5. I think I will be overwhelmed by the advancements withing the new Andriod 14 and UI 6.1.1
Why doesn't American reviewers realise that most of the world has Exynos chips on their Samsung phones and nit Snapdragon. Not mentioning indicates that you only intend to have Americans viewing the channel.
I just got my 21 FE 4 months ago brand new from Samsung and my data goes completely out all the time and I live in a major city. @@rizdog5735try the s21fe its the best. Its super light and the 6.4 is the perfect size for viewing media
Personally I whould get the s21 if I wasn't on a budget. When it comes to the other phone , that one is great for people on a budget. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much! 👋 Lots more videos coming over the next few days
@@TechDaily nice . Thanks for the heads up on that. Also you are welcome .
I have the flag ship s21.
Keep in mind, you can get the S21 renewed/refurbished for a mid-range price. Of course idk what your budget is but you can get the phone reliably for under $600 on places like BackMarket and Amazon Renewed, and sometimes even under $500
But it's the same fucking phone.....like slightly bigger and the telephoto has slightly less megapixels.....that's about it?
Brilliant video , thanks ! We have the Snapdragon 888 processor here in the UK too , on the S21 FE 5G edition.
The S21 5G would be physically too small for many too , folks are edging to the larger screens !
There are VERY cheap contract buys here now in the U.K. for the FE edition - the total cost for the contract ( excluding data/minutes/texts ) comes out at £240 for the handset , paid over 24 months ! !
The 21 fe will offer much better value when comparing contracts with s22 and will keep dropping.
Yeah FE for me, the flagship is still $250 aud more here, being nearly identical I'd rather save that, it's a lot for me.
Exactly you can't just compare 2 phones, you have to compare 4 phones internationally
The 21 fe is the perfect size at 6.4 compared to the 6.1 of the s22 which is too small and the battery too is small for a flagship
The S21 FE is still dual SIM. It's just not long as the previous S20 FE. You just flip the SIM plate to our the other sim
Pro tip 👌
@@Swagalious689 How can I do that with the s21 FE?

I like being able to put a micro sd card into my phone. I don't like it when that option gets taken away. If you're listening Samsung, bring it back
My buddy sold me his S21 for only $200! He used it for a month before deciding to get the new iPhone. This is the best phone iver ever had and I absolutely love it!
I agree. I left apple after having only apple products since they came put and I LOVE my s21. Samsung is amazing.
The only problem is that S21 is NOT available in Europe with the Snapdragon processor and S21 FE is available with 888
is the snapdragon really that much better then this other processor we have in europe?
@@surf_machine The exynos is a good processor, but it is usually known to drain the battery much faster and get a little hotter than the snapdragon.
@@surf_machine exynos is slower, hotter and drains more battery... exynos samsung phones are usually as fast as 1-2 generation old snapdragon phones.
@@SweatyFeetGirl No, watch reviews and do your own benchmark. Their battery perf are identical. CPU benchmarks are almost identical and even GPU scores are almost identical. Exynos does tend to run a bit hotter due to higher clock speed but don't spew nonsense due to you premeditated ideas.

Tsk.
Snapdragon 888 is chip on s21 fe
I bought the s21 fe over the s22 because the sd gen 1 chip has issues and the 3700mah battery is too small.

No, with a bigger punch hole but thinner curves
I think you didnt realize when you did the video but the s21 fe seems to have 2 sims to it when you took it out it said 1 on one side and 2 on th3 second side so they might be back to back like ÷ the devide side each dot is a card :) around 3:25 on the video 😊
Honestly the fact the FE is in between size of S21 and S21+ makes it more desirable and the fact you're getting a brand new phone released basically on the current time-line. I would never buy a refurbished phone
People don't have to buy a refurbished s21, they can buy a brand new one.
@@urazoktay7940 never said they had to

Just put the motion smoothness as standard. The only time you notice a difference is when you're scrolling and I don't scroll for entertainment.
Great video, will wait for the S22 to arrive and see what happens with the pricing etc and take it from there, will be good to see a S21 FE vs S22 video later this month
I have choosed the FE because regual version in Europe has Exynos while FE has Snapdragon, FE also has bigger battery.
Thanks for your video. The price comparison is a little unfair. In the video, yes you showed that the S21 flagship was cheaper than the S21 FE, however those cheaper prices are for renewed or refurbished phones.
The perfect video I've been waiting for. Just bought my s21 for $690 here in India. It was launched at $920
I just got mine for $499 in the US 🇺🇸.
So?
@@zeneipra The video said the 2 phones have basically no difference in their screens. I gave what the difference is.
To be precise, the refresh rate can go down as low as 48Hz up to 120Hz and it's the same as S21+. S21 Ultra can go down to 10Hz and up to 120Hz
you’re right about the S21 saving more battery due to the adaptive refresh rate, but it doesn’t go down to 1hz it goes down to 48 i believe
Thank you. 👍
My 21 FE I got March for 400 with trade in of 10e. I like the bigger screen than new S22 now out
how quickly did you get used to the bigger screen? Does the larger size and weight bother you? I also want to change my S10e. I love lightweight smartphones to carry in my pocket and play sports, but I want a bigger screen than the S10e.
After comparing both, I bought the tricked out flagship S21. No regrets.
The S21 display is miles better - it supports refresh rates from 10 to 120Hz, while the FE is stuck on 60 or 120 - huge battery life difference definitely worth noting.
@ko3bz_ You're correct, my bad. Thanks.
There is not a huge battery life difference..
You can use Bixby routines to automatically change it to standard when battery falls to a certain level
@@lifeisshørt_420 cant the fe have the 120hz screen option disabled thou if we wanted ? thx
