Finally a real EV for us back seat drivers. The price hardly makes it a family car, more a business car. Being a passenger must be the purpose of the car.
Absolutely Jörgen. Very much like the BMW i7
A lot more expensive than I was expecting, we’re still a long way off an ‘affordable’ 7 seater which is stopping a lot of Irish families transitioning to EV.
Not sure the ones coming are going to much more affordable
I took petrol Mifa Luxe for test drive today. Absolutely loved it, as did my children for general comfort. Was stunned how smooth and responsive the acceleration was, how quiet, and the fact it really didn’t feel like a people mover or as big as it was. It had very tight u turn capability for size. My husband hates Chinese cars, so was determined not to like it. Because he has tendency to be heavy footed then slam on brakes he did wheel spin a few times. Which he was determined was a fault of the car, not his driving (even though I had no problems) I wish they did do android auto, but few reviewers here in Australia said that would only require a software update, so probably something that could be added and done during a service for a small additional cost.
Great review mate
Thanks!
At Fully Charged Live the grey model looked quite good in the metal. This black one is a cross between a London taxi and a funeral car.
Maybe lower spec models have rear view mirrors, so the rear wiper is then needed. Many vans have rear view mirrors to check the metal bulkhead is still in place.
Hopefully this vehicle has an element of voice control to switch on lights etc while speeding down the motorway?
Thanks for the comment Russ. Looks are divisive for sure. Great point on the lower spec models and the rear view camera. I need to recheck the voice controls
Very nice inside the car
Most of it
There is USB in all three rows each seat in second row has Standing USB and USB C next to storage cubby under armrest where you get tray table. Great for charging and using
I can hear the taxi drivers flocking toward these like they did with those crazy looking Ssangyongs back in the day.
With the price point, it will be interesting
@@NevoEVReviewIreland These would work out at what, €50-55K as a taxi if you were trading up from an older/higher mileage taxi
Minimum
The frunk hood looks a bit like a range rover from the side. The rest of it is a bit blah outside. The inside is impressive. I can see it being popular with chauffeur services
I thought it was a Range Rover meeting it on the road a few times
Nice review. Citroën Ami for me however😊
Agree with you
👍
I think SAIC should keep the split for vehicles in Eire , UK & Europe so that MG is passenger so this should be the MG9 & Maxus to be pick up trucks & vans the deliver 7 looks good the deliver 9 is such an obvious e transit competitor & you’re right in NZ & Australia they’re LDVs - interior in the back the MIFA 9 is really nice but price wise new it can’t compete with the ID Buzz or EQV so tough market
Thanks for the comment. I'm liking that idea re MG split. Price is the killer for this model alright
I bet you was looking for that bonnet release lever before you started this video 😀
I'm getting smarter
@@NevoEVReviewIreland lol
2023 Maxus 9 electric - first RHD EV MPV in ASEAN, coming to Malaysia?
Paul Tan's Automotive News
Looks like the new London Taxi
Yes!
Fun fact, London taxi is Chery
I can see these being converted to a hearse.
Would it be long enough?
So how much is it in English money ?
Starting at €53,588 ex vat
No no no no no 😵💫
Makes marmite look good!
😂
Will likely cater exclusively to 5 star golf holidays
Kia EV9, Xpeng G9, BYD Tang all on the way, interesting times ahead. Of course then there’s the anti SUV groups
Thanks for the comment Bryan. Lots of competition coming alright
@@NevoEVReviewIreland keep up the great work Derek it’s great to see the options coming through
Its hideous. But the seating arrangement is very good. Very american tbh.
Any look finding something that works for you?
Not sure about the outside but inside looks sumptuous but not to merc/bmw levels. As said by others a super taxi possible.
Nice review but not for my needs.
DES
Thanks for the comment Des.
Iv liked it since i first seen it but the price, OMG. Might find a market as a taxi/chauffeur but it's a far cry from a Merc/BMW
A tad on the expensive side alright
This car will beat all Japanese and Korean people movers .
Time will tell
MG and MIFA 9 are from the same company
Yes, SIAC motors.
80 to 100k for a Toyota Estima…a bit steep don’t you think😂 I suppose you could live in it so maybe a bank would give a mortgage
Big enough to live in!
Gonna wait 4 years and these will go for 20
Depreciation on the high side for sure
@@NevoEVReviewIreland what do you think off this as a buy : model x 2018 75d , 100000km , 35k . My wife just crasht the i3 ...
It's hideous inside and out, range is small(maybe okay for taxiing), but the main issue is the price. I can see it sinking without a trace!
Thanks for the comment Geoff. It will be interesting in seeing the sales numbers and how it performs
The petrol version is around 32k euro
@@s4214988 where? Here in Europe?
Excluding the two back seats the rest of it looks Meh.. not a 70k+ car imo.
Thanks for the comment Chris
This is a considerable downgrade from MIFA 9 being sold in China, where all configurations have a three-display setup that spans the entire length of the dashboard and more standard amenities and features, all at half the price.
Really it's half the price there? That's mad
Thanks for the comment and update Dr Anderson's Ghost
Too expensive will probably lose half its value in year one...
It is on the higher end of the price point for sure.
So ugly. A box on wheels. Coffin . Inside is worse. My MG4 arrives in June 🙂
What colour did you go for?
What a waste. EV's are stupid prices and this car makes no sense except for funeral work.
Sales will tell if there's a market price
Airport transport and tourism in general is perfect for this.
