    • @mrx7181
      @mrx7181 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ryan Thurston yeah the right play was definitely to jam so that you don't put yourself in this spot. Realistically Obst is literally losing to one combination in that spot and it's 89 of clubs which is why it's such a sicko fold.

    • @mrx7181
      @mrx7181 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ryan Thurston the reason why Ruane can only have 89 of clubs is he's never jamming a hand like the nut flush over Obsts river bet given the fact that his range consists of boats and maybe a few bluffs. Also Ruane doesn't have any better full houses in his range so it's literally 89 of clubs or nothing.

    • @jacobwalden4801
      @jacobwalden4801 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Obst had the worst boat and as a little bonus there was a straight flush out there too. Unlikely the other guy had a 10 in his range unless Q10 or J10 maybe. Not likely at all tho. So for the other guy to ship into Obst he has to have him beat

    • @mrx7181
      @mrx7181 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jacob Walden I agree with what you're saying but the reason why it's a sicko fold is because the only thing that Ruane should be able to have here to ship it with is specifically 89 of clubs. He never has Tens full of anything that's just silly to even consider, and never has Queens or jacks full. On top of all this, Obst bet the river to get called by the nut flush that would definitely check back the river given the fact that Obst doesn't really have anything but a set of sevens or maybe QJ when he 3 bets the flop and check calls turn. Obst knows that there is zero chance the nut flush would jam because of this so it's down to 89 of clubs or some kind of goofball bluff. When your losing to one specific hand it's always hard to get away.

    I get where Benger is coming from, Kassouf's talk (EDIT: And tanking, forgot to include that, thanks reply section,) will get very annoying after a while, but Christ, just get headphones, or politely ask him to be quiet while you make a decision, do something else other than tell him to "check your privilege".

      1. I don't know for sure, but I would guess that featured table players that are on TV likely aren't allowed to wear headphones. It slows down the game and is bad for TV when a guy is jamming out to Coldplay and not following the action.
      2. I don't think politely asking Kassouf to do anything will actually get him to stop doing it.
      3. They've been playing together for hours at this point. It wouldn't be the first time somebody asking him to stop.

His whole attitude is "either accept my bullshit ruling or I'll give you more round penalties". If Matuson had asked him to be quiet so she could think and he kept going I could understand it but there's nothing wrong with talking at the poker table. In fact it's something that poker is lacking these days. Also if Matuson was 80-90% calling before Kassouf started talking - which I don't believe - and his table talk persuaded her to fold, then that's a huge problem with her game and a great move by Kassouf.

      Remember, there's basically only one "boat" in Obst range, which is 77. He's never flatting one raise preflop with QQ or JJ (both prime 3-betting hands), especially in late position. So either Obst has exactly 77, or he doesn't have a boat at all.

      This is a Top 5 of the most epic hands of that specific year's Main Event - we couldn't put that hand at No. 1 because the Benger-Kassouf hand was far more epic ;)

    Gotta be able to take some table talk and be able to make a decision Matuson can’t blame that shit fold on anyone but herself

    I don't think Benger was insulted at all. I think he purposefully reacted the way Kassouf wanted him to react. Kassouf was a good enough player that he could've laid down the KK and personally, I think Kassouf was going to fold. And I think Benger knew that. So to ensure Kassouf stayed in the hand he had to act like he was melting down from Kassouf's talk. Because from Kassouf's point of view, if Benger looses his mind then that means he didn't feel safe with his hand. If Benger felt safe he would've kept his cool. With all that in mind, I think Benger melting down was an act to get Kassouf to shove all in.

      Then Benger should be in Hollywood thats a top acting play. IMO, it really got to Benger, it got under his skin and he melted. "Verbal abuse", "Check your priviledge".....Benger, says, "Whatever happens, his miserable and I'm happy"...lol Notice Benger voice shakey..... Would've been something, if Benger lost the hand.

      The fact you're even suggesting to fold KK pre shows you have absolutely no business discussing NLHE tournament play. Do you know how exploitable that is?

      Watching this just now. I know I'm late. I don't understand what the guy talking a lot did wrong? I feel like the floor was super unfair to him the first time. & The 2nd time the table was mad rude to him also. He did everything legal. He didn't curse at anyone or disrespect anyone. He's in the right to talk all he wants when it's heads-up. At the end of the day it's on the opponent to block all the noise out & make a choice. Or am I bugging? I wanted a King to come out so bad to shut that other introverted cry baby up so badly

    i dont get why kassouf was so hated. speech play is such an important part of poker when u are heads up in a hand. even the opponent does get info from all that talking
