    • @AlbertWesker-hx9ss
      @AlbertWesker-hx9ss 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a very hard spot to make a call with pair 8 in that spot, with an ace on the flop and your opponent 3 barreling. I made a call in that similar situation before but it was a 100€ tournament and I was 23. I dont think I still have it in me to make that kind of call anymore :(

      its a 50/50 call. 3handed Blumstein could run a 3 barrel bluff with complete air. I think after Ott calls the turn Scott knows he has some thing, maybe a weak ace or a pair like 66-99. He knows shoving the river would put all those hands in a tough spot. On the otherhand, Ott prob thinks that even though Scott knows he has sth, he still shoves which means he prob has that "something" beat. Maybe 2 pair or a set. Thats why he folds. The 3 barrel bluff shove is such a rare move and it needs to execute with the read that your opponent was weak. Blumstein played it really well.

    When Blumstien bets small on the turn and Ott just calls it pretty much caps his range. I mean, any big hand Ott was slow playing on the flop almost certainly raises the turn bet (except maybe the nuts which Blumstien blocks). Blank river makes it a nice river shove spot and a tough one to defend for Ott.

    I think #1 should be #2, and #3 should be #1. A deuce on the River, 7% chance of winning the hand, and he went from drawing dead to WSOP Champion with a fricking DEUCE. You will likely never see that again. That should have been #1 by a MILE.

    • @HoangTruong-vk7ek
      @HoangTruong-vk7ek 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      meh. You watch poker for the play not the cards. After the all in its just flipping out 5 cards to see who wins. Sure he went from 7% to 100% after one card but before the flop he was 1/4 to win it and it just happens to be one of those times he sucked out on the better hand. The best hand is the 5th where he bluff shoved with K10. Those hands define championships. Going all in and wait to see is just routine stuff.

    • @DukeFan1971
      @DukeFan1971 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HoangTruong-vk7ek Not with THAT hand, it's not. Almost no one would have gone all-in based on what he had and what he knew. That took balls the size of L.A. to go all-in. The one you mentioned, I would put 2nd.

    • @silentHangus
      @silentHangus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are correct
      Hellmuth then sent a pair of players home thanks to a lucky flop. The eventual champion, with A-10, called the all-in of Stephen Lott (pocket deuces) and Don Zewin (pocket tens). The board ran out A-7-7-Q-8.
      The double-knockout left the reigning champion, arguably the best player in the game at the time, up against the up-and-coming Phil Hellmuth.

    Dude, give me like any place from 15 on up, and I would never work again. 2nd place would be like FIRST place for me. $4.7 MILLION?!? Are you kidding me?? Yeah, $8.1 million is obviously better, but $4.7 changes my life forever.

    I see everyone getting mad at Blumstein for showing no class, and I get it, he was out of line and disrespectful; But no one in the comments has felt that rush of emotion of winning millions of dollars on the biggest poker stage possible. Cut the man some slack.
