- In this video, me and my friend Ryan go on a fast paced trip all the way from the top to the bottom of utah, attempting to find some of its rarest snakes. We ended up finding the rarest snake of them all, the Regal Ring Necked Snake
Great video and beautiful country. Snakes are cool. Love to share your excitement.
Snakes are cool!
Wow, what an awesome video, guys! Loved this. We love our snakes in Arizona too.
I will definitely be heading to Arizona in the future to look for snakes. Thank you!
Awesome video! Utah is easily one of the most beautiful and diverse places in the US. I travel a lot for work, but no matter where I end up in the world it'll always be my home.
It really is a unique place on this planet!
Excellent video!! I do not like snakes, but you guys actually got me to look at them!! Plus the scenery is magnificent!! Thanks for taking me with you again!!
I was hoping the video would be enjoyable to people who didn’t like snakes too much, thank you!
I grew up in Hawaii where there are no snakes, so I actually don’t have an aversion to them that most people do. Cool video. That King snake and the rare snake were beautiful. Thank you for the info on the sidewinder tracks. Fascinating!
Scorpions and lizards are interesting critters too. You should go hunt scorpions with a black light.
I live in southern Nevada now so continuing learn about mainland critters not found in Hawaii.
Now if you do a video on spiders, that’s another story, it will be a hard no from me. Not a spider fan. They have their place in the world, I’m just not a fan.
Utah is beautiful, nice to see snow still on their mountains.
Don’t worry I will not be doing a spider video haha. Might try to find some scorpions later this year if I get the chance. Glad you liked the video!
I really enjoyed this video! Very well put together and I love the inclusions of the maps. It's always fun to see others with the same interests that I have. New subscriber! Let me know if you ever want to go herping together!
I’m glad you enjoyed! It’s good to get some fellow herpers in the comments cause I always love catching snakes when I’m out
That was interesting. I have been seeing so many snakes recently. Wonder if there is some sort of population boom happening with the rainy winters.
I have no idea, they also might just be more active now that there has been more water available
Not a big fan of snakes but I enjoyed the vid. I take it the red tail probably detaches easily if caught by a preditor? I just love Spring in Utah!
No I think the red tail is probably to pretend to be poisonous with the bright colors, they don’t detach easily to my knowledge
@@TopoTravelers That makes more sense. So glad you guys found that one. It is a crazy looking snake.
Snakes fascinate me. I'm not going to handle even th non-venomous varieties. I'm glad that here in Cache County that the only venomous snake is the Great Basin Rattlesnake. I served a mission in South Carolina and didn't like having Copperheads and Cottonmouths around.
The venomous ones are chill as long as you give them some space
Gorgeous ring neck. Non herpers do not get it. I found a blind thread snake once, (Rena humilis humilis) and got all excited due to the rarity, and difficulty spotting them. My girlfriend at the time thought I was nuts... it looks like a worm - ewww.
Thread snake might be the only thing that contends for rarest snake status in Utah, that’s super cool! That’s the nice thing about the ring neck though, it doesn’t look like a worm haha
@@TopoTravelers nope, it sure doesn't.
@@TopoTravelers that story is now 50 years old. My blushing bride of 45 years thinks snakes are beautiful. Guess why I married her, along many other reasons.
