Despite both our jobs being on the skills shortages list!! I was a qualified paediatric and general registered nurse with over 10 years post registered experience. Because I had trained an unusual way in that I qualified in paediatrics (uk sick kids which doesn’t have a separate register in Australia) followed by another year to get my general the nurses board in Australia made me contact both colleges of nursing in the uk for a detailed breakdown of the exactly what I had studied academically plus a practical competency transcript Once I had that however they registered me straightaway. . Having laterally worked in tertiary education I understand that unfortunately not all overseas qualifications are comparable so we need to be meticulous to ensure standards don’t slip. But we didn’t have this information until we got here as nobody told us! You have be very careful and assume nothing . We became citizens of this great country 6 years after arriving. I wish you good luck.
The reason why people don’t want move to regional is that the uncertainty. I was planning to move to outer regional as well. One of my friends, who moved to SA outer regional, who worked very hard, the rules was if someone worked in outer regional of SA 20 hours per week can apply for 491. The moment he would apply the rules changed, now he can’t apply as the minimum working hours is 30 and have to be relevant field. On the other hand he is now in student visa, where as his visa condition doesn’t allow to work 30 hours, Sometimes who make the rules they don’t even know what they are doing 😞😞
SA changing rules like that most likely because of the quota limits, but this just proves how volatile Australian migration system is. The PR visa hopeful can only do the best they can and try to align themselves to ever changing eligibility criteria. However, uncertainty exists in 189/190 world too. To better solve the uncertainty, Australia would literally have to cap popular TR visas per financial year so that onshore competition goes back to healthy level. I don’t know how that would work though.
Yes It has been due to the slashing of the quota numbers for states and territories. SA has said they would like to re-introduce that system but we will have to wait until July to see what happens
I have been trying so hard to get visa 186, but it is very scarce now and hard to get. All the employers l have been getting are 482 temporary sponsorship visa. And they are mainly for age care nursing. You have to work for them for 2 years, before they will sponsor you for PR.

Hi Karl,I just have a more unfortunate experience to share from one of my friend in SA hospitality business. A young couple bought a motel for South Australia 491 small business owner pathway. And they ran it very hard, they take care of the community but suddenly the labor government just cut off almost all small business pathway in every state sponsorship stream. Now they sold the motel with running it for just over a year as it is no point of keeping running it without provision. I believe they lose a great market value and lose their precious time on their journey to PR. Temporary residents only have 2 or 3 years of visa, all those changes by government is making joke to their life!
Arab nations employed many workers from South Asia and other parts as contractual but never give them PR or passport, they earned, send money to Homeland and left after finished their contract....
I just can’t get why they set such a high bar for 491 grant over 190. Had 190 ever had pathway 1 like this I would be fine if they ask for 1 year highly relevant work experience plus 2 years residence and TSMIT salary. But why on 491? I don’t get it.

It’s always a cycle isn’t it. The whole governance is so reactive and I am not picking on who is ruling and who is in opposition. Inflation is the problem which is leading to Australian facing issues with getting bare minimum resources but it’s easy to blame immigration. Resolution is to break the monopoly of Woolies and Coles and make life more affordable by distributing resources. Being an immigrant myself, I can attest that problem is not immigration but the fact that there is less clearance check while they are inducted in the country. So while putting a tap on immigration will relax the resource constraints a bit but the whole education system will collapse. Remember, international students are not taking Australian students seat but filling in seats which could not be filled by local and at the same time fund the university operational cost. Three years of consecutive loss with 2 universities claiming bankruptcy will reintroduce international students back in Australia with even lesser academic or security clearance. We will not learn. Country doesn’t have a layer of administrative service- simply contract employee and ministers. A layer of permanent policy makers providing guidance to the ministry is the need of the hour.
Until the cistern of immigration stops flushing, The corporations will continue to take advantage. Stop immigration and watch society reach an equitable status quo which treats all citizens with the respect they deserve. Immigration just introduces rent seekers who will always take advantage of a naive system designed for the people who built the country. But now just a cash cow for fake colleges and fake students pretending to study until they achieve their residency and import their family.

Do they update you when a case officer is assigned.
I wonder will next year's allocation be kind back to the norm/increased??
Yes we expect it will be
I have been trying so hard to get visa 186, but it is very scarce now and hard to get.
All the employers l have been getting are 482 temporary sponsorship visa. And they are mainly for age care nursing.
You have to work for them for 2 years, before they will sponsor you for PR.
Yes 186 is always hard to get for employers want to get their value out of workers on the 482 visa first
I'm 10 months on my 482. Eventually the time will pass
Why not just go home?
Will students be able to get easy visa approvals now?? Is july intake 2024 gonna be smooth?
Thank you so much for the informative videos you provide every week. I love to watch them and get all the information I need as an immigrant. The most amazing thing about the videos is how open and honest you are about the migration system, among other things. I would like to share my experience with you regarding TSMIT
I am a Graduate agronomist working with a single regional NSW-based employer for the past two and half years. I have a positive skill assessment for the Agricultural Consultant and hold 90 points for the 491 visa.
Unfortunately, I am not eligible to apply directly for the RDA due to the TSMIT requirement. On the other hand, my employer is not willing to raise my salary to meet TSMIT level and I am not allowed to change my job due to my visa condition so that I can find a better job opportunity.
Would you be able to advise me if I should book a consultation? I would be more than happy to discuss this with you.
Regards ,
Pradeep Kumar
Thanks Pradeep, please email the office sydney@australiavisa.com with you details and I will get in touch with you early next week
U look +35 of age. How come are u a graduate agronomist Ffs?
@ailsaustralia Interestingly, I did a 1.5 years Masters in Public Administration from ANU, 5 plus years experience and could not even get a 485...now luckily offshore 491 is even off in ACT and JSA list mentions it as unsure for inclusion in future skills list... Australia has just blown up its migration system from broken to worse and useless ...both for its economy and immigrants.. for politics, we are the scapegoats
Yes I know the Minister seems not to care less the effort people have made to meet requirements
Do you see any increase in ACT migration places next year and will Policy and Planning Manager make the list? @@ailsaustralia
Hi Karl, I have applied 190 Visa in mid May'23, when will I likely to receive the grant? does it delay in July'24 or may be in May or June 24.
High chance you have to wait over July’24 for a decision on your application.
Can I apply for spouse visa immediately after marriage
After applying for visit visa just before the expiry of student visa, can i continue working o BVA which has work rights.
And the visit visa can be granted anytime so if I continued working on the day it is granted will i be in breach of my visa?
I will stop ASAP as i recieve the notification of grant......
Hi Karl, I am teacher with over 10 years of experience from Chile, I work as an ELICoS teacher now but I wonder if there’s a different pathway to teaching in high schools in Australia. Any migration news regarding teachers?
There is a high demand for Secondary teachers but your qualifications have to suit for skill assessment.
Hi Karl, I have applied/lodged for 190 vic on 6th april 2023, what are the chances of getting visa grant in this financial year? i am offshore applicant.
Is there is any updates in the processing time of subclass 300
Karl pls tell about ect is it wise to do early childhood graduate.
Tell about.more Trade courses not blody Chefs , real Tradie course and PR pathways ( Carpenters, sparky, painters etc)
DOHA surely takes time on everything but 482 visas. On website they say passport detail updating takes 72 hours, but I have been waiting 5 days after I upload the file. Granted I reported my old passport as lost but didn’t report it to the police, but now I am worried. It’s nerve wracking even for detail update like this.
yes Estelle the way these visas are processed leaves much to be desired. Hope it sorts out for you
Hi Karl, update about visa backlog?
Thank you
Thanks Karl.
Hi Karl. Specialist Skills Pathway when is release ?
Not before core skill occupation list is finalised, which specialist skill pathway is based on.
Thank you for your work Karl. It would be great to know about protection 866 visa after the government introduced $160 mln to fix issues. Are new applications processed in real-time as promised?
They don't seem to be yet
When will I expect my visa grant (190) .I lodged on March 2023 ( 12 month completed). Completed my medicals twice.😢.
less chance in near future right?, because they said they aren't processing offshore 190, 189 applications
Please make video on 491 visa grant after one year wait will there be grant or visa fees refunded…it will be useful
What would be the impact for the state sponsored skilled migration quota from next financial year? Increasing or Decreasing?
We expect the skilled migration quota to remain largely the same, fingers crossed
@@ailsaustralia Same means less numbers as this financial year?
In nsw eoi can only be for one subclass either 190or 491 parhway 2 as offshore which is unfair they should alow to select both visa subclasses in eoi
Yes another example where NSW is not on the ball
My brother as medical laboratory technician applied for 190 visa eoi with nsw any chance of inviation please tell
He has 75points
After July there could be chances yes
You should be able to lodge 2 EOI’s I think. One for NSW 190 and one for NSW 491. Depending on which one got invited you go that one. The requirement specifies EOI, not individual.
I know it is complex to manage multiple EOIs (I did it before) but at least there is a way.
Hi Karl to become an early childhood educator and postule for a pr I've been told I need an IELTS 8877 but can I use a PTE?
ECT's need Academic IELTS only I'm afraid
Is Australia Government going to hold PR Visa invitation in 2025?
They truly killed hospitality when they put up the 70k TSMIT.
Sir please update make video on subclass 309 visa too
Any news on 192 visa ? It's not open yet as your last it should have opened 29th March
No news on that as yet
Hi ,
Feb2024, I have submitted my EOI for all 8 states in australia by selected all visa type check boxes 189-190-491, and then additionally submitted my ROI for 3 states as SouthAustralia, Victoria, ACT Canberra. my points are 189-65, 190-70, 491-80
For me 491 visa is fine.
one of my friend is telling, don't select all visa types while submit EOI but i selected all previously.
1. Now, Do i need to submit new/separate EOI only for 491 visa?
2. I already submitted ROI as well, if i submit new EOI, do i need to withdraw old ROI and need to submit new ROI ?
please suggest. thanks
Please book a time to discuss but in ger=neral you should create a separate EOI for each state you are interested in
@@ailsaustralia thanks
Does the mean only student visa to be normal or also to be skill migration?
The main aim will be those on temporary visas
@@ailsaustraliaWould you please make me clear about your comment?
Can we keep hope for regular no of state allocations for upcoming financial year?
We can hope but there is no guarantee.
@@estellebright2579 thank you and hope so.
They actually can't afford the income without overseas students
Yes true
so this is why i still haven't received a confirmation mail from UTAS even after more than a month?! sad really.....😢
most likely, sorry
Hi Karl, what do they mean about normal migration intake cycle? I mean certainly it is not normal that they will grant backlogs of the previous FY to the next financial year, right?
So this means DOHA now considering get students without a big cut off?
No not really, they will still be keeping an eye on the number of grants
@@ailsaustralia thanks for the update...
Hi Karl, I loged my 482 visa application on the 5th of Feb, onshore. I did my medical check on the first of March. Agter waiting for nearly 70 days, there is still not signs of getting a result. Why it takes so long to process a 482 visa? Thanks!
Hi karl.....what is mean by normal intake cycle?
that means they will increase state seats in the next financial year?
your response will be highly appreciated.
thnks😊
I think the NOM is about 350,000 so that is what they are aiming for. more on that later
350000 for what? Is it for skill migration?
Hi Karl, do you think that the regional allocation for 190 and 491 will go back to normal this 2024-25 financial year?
Yes expecting it to Donna
What does normal mean? Is this year's quota the new normal? Or is it pertaining to the higher figures last year?
Hi Karl,I just have a more unfortunate experience to share from one of my friend in SA hospitality business.
A young couple bought a motel for South Australia 491 small business owner pathway. And they ran it very hard, they take care of the community but suddenly the labor government just cut off almost all small business pathway in every state sponsorship stream. Now they sold the motel with running it for just over a year as it is no point of keeping running it without provision. I believe they lose a great market value and lose their precious time on their journey to PR. Temporary residents only have 2 or 3 years of visa, all those changes by government is making joke to their life!
hi Karl my question will they normal seats for state sponsor in this FY
We expect so yes.
They don’t help local uni students to excel but expect immigrants to fix it. 😢
Arab nations employed many workers from South Asia and other parts as contractual but never give them PR or passport, they earned, send money to Homeland and left after finished their contract....
This is insane, why is this year's allocation so low.
Yes it has been dissapoiting
Can I hope with 65 points including state points (491) to get invitation next financial year😢😢?
Depends upon the occupation?
@@ailsaustralia Any hope to open RDA for offshore?
I have got remote work for Victoria in IT , won’t be able to apply for 491 pathway 1 😔
I just can’t get why they set such a high bar for 491 grant over 190. Had 190 ever had pathway 1 like this I would be fine if they ask for 1 year highly relevant work experience plus 2 years residence and TSMIT salary. But why on 491? I don’t get it.
@@estellebright2579 being software developer and getting same job in regional is very hard. And you can’t do remote work for pathway 1 😅 everything feels tangled
@@estellebright2579 also I don’t understand them saying there are housing crisis but based on experience are inviting overseas canidiate because one having huge years of experience in Australia will already be pr and we as a student who have few years of experience here in Australia in own field is getting messed up loosing hope now 😅
@@raunakbasnet7955 NSW seems to be unwilling to truly assist regional development based on how they set up pathway 1 criteria. I bet you there will be boatload of applicants if they remove TSMIT income requirement but keep 1 year regional employer working requirement.
@@raunakbasnet7955 That question has been around for quite a while now. Nobody knows why. In fact, governments are granting 482 in lightning speed, bulk of them are from overseas. After some 2 years they will all be eligible for 186TRT. I don't know about your situation but maybe you should consider applying for 482 if you can. At least you have another pathway for PR.
Thanks Karl for this informative video. How about the PR invites and grants? I certainly hope it goes back to its normal cycle as well
We shall see but it should
Thanks for the assurance, sir. We've been waiting for an invitation for months with good points (+80). Hopefully, the immigration cycle will move on soon even before July. Is it possible?

At Which organization did he got training visa?

Tnx sir. Update
My plesure.
Thank you
You're welcome
