Wow they were so patient with that special needs boy. Really takes a saint to be that level headed in a situation like that.
Lol you deserve to be on ONN staff.
I'd have a tranquilliser on hand. You'd be surprised how fast and strong they can be when they lose their temper. Once saw a video of an alleged chess master throwing people around like rag dolls after he lost a match. Scary.
I too agree, very professional on their part

This is just horrible, I can’t imagine what those hosts would’ve felt like when that child started trying to attack them. I’m glad security saved them.

Actually no, they said that to him saying "Accelerated Learning" classes. They think it's the same as a "gifted" program (which may have children who learn/develop differently/specially), so they say "is that what they're calling it now?" She sounds so sorry for him when she says "The Gifted and Talented Program" and as someone who's in such a program I can confirm that is the appropriate response.
I am sorry to hear that you are in the gifted and talented program.
Mainly because of the extra workload and social pressure to preform well resulting in burnout.
In all seriousness though how is that program where you're at. Do you ever get to do anything fun in it like robotics or extra field trips?
@Best around I mean it’s not bad… it’s just accelerated learning. Better GPA and college opportunities. Also not that hard if your adequate enough to perform at that level
Although we don’t have field trips.
@Mr. Turnip Ah, so you needed to be in the gifted gifted and talented talented program. You poor poor thing. People must think you are a total freak and bully you relentlessly. You have my sympathies you academic abomination.
@Mr. Turnip I'm not, it was a joke based on the video of smart kids needing to have crippling mental defects. I apologize for not making it clearer.
Tag is the only thing that kept me remotely engaged during school. Literally had teachers rip up worksheets when I was younger because I worked ahead and got it done too quickly
Omfg the lady climbed back onto her chair out of fear. Probably a safe call, that kid is hardly in control of his actions.

I'm really impressed at how well written+acted this was. It reminded me waaaaaay too much about how people talked to me growing up

I don´t have autism, and I am the one that forgets (in a way) how to breathe.

This kid was the first ever known case of Big Brain
"There's nothing wrong with me, I'm just smart."
"Right."
My brother's kid is three years old and is already showing signs of being an actual genius and my sister treats him exactly like this. Funny how when somebody is obviously superior, people will act as if it's due to some defect.
Or, if they can't find a defect to blame it on, they just find an unrelated flaw and blow it out of proportion and keep reminding the person of that just for the opportunity to belittle them.

Lol this one had me laughing my ass off XD
"My brain works normally so i can't even fathom how you do it" and "oh is that what they're calling them now" XD
sad part is this is legit how 50% of public schools treat smart kids
True
Love how the host realises the help he's called is about to manhandle the child on live tv & tries to intervene with a "nononononononono" before realising its too late with a big "whoops!" as they scoop him up & then decides to just roll with it with a "alright guys thank you very much" as they carry him away.
Its so accurate its scary
Nah, he is scared that the child might start rampaging and kill everyone.
The kid raised the trophy up and the host thought he was going to attack them with it so he said nonononono
1:57 just kills me, "right..."
What an amazing actress
What a disturbed young man
The kid is such a good actor I was half convinced they didn't tell him it was fake
I know it's a joke, but the acting is so good that they genuinely made me frustrated

Its crazy how accurate this is to the way some adults treat even other adults once they learn they're autistic
You guys are applauding the host for being calm but you all forgot the bravery of the security in saving everyone in that room.
The best part:

Man these are all comedic genius but this just made me feel uncomfy so yeah the video did it’s job 10/10
Gosh, it is just so great that people can treat this special little boy as if he was an actual human being. Very inspirational.
“Is that what they’re calling them now” was the best for me
I've never heard the word "right" delivered so perfectly.
Just wanted to add that these hosts are very brave for having this dangerous young man on the show, and allowing him to hold a blunt object. It was a close call at the end there when he attempted to viciously attack the hosts.
"There's nothing wrong with me, I'm just smart."
*sympathetically nods head* "Right."
It's remarkable that many people who have never read The Onion confuse this amazingly smart satire with real news. The players are utterly convincing as the vapid, dull, and generally reactionary type of media person prevalent these days, and the way the news is sensationalized is spot on.
