Prayer for Homeless and Hungry including me here in Bay Area California 🙏 Great God, there are so many out there who have not only no place to sleep but nothing to eat. Help guide them to a place like a shelter or clothing and food pantry so that they might have something to fill their stomach. I know that You will come to help those who are unable to help themselves and those who receive no help in the coming kingdom. Until then, please give me discernment to know what do to for someone that’s homeless. Perhaps take them to dinner or buy them a sleeping bag and a gift card for food. Oh Lord, I look forward to the day when there will be no more pain, sorrow, suffering, death (Rev 21:4), and certainly hunger. Speed that day my God and for those who are hungry and lost, fill them with the Word of God and bring them everlasting life in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen 🙏
Thank you, Father, for being here every Sunday. I fall every day, and on Sunday, i almost don't come to your church, but your words resonate in my mind and bring me back.
Thank you Father Mike Schimtz for consecrating the Eucharist so reverently that it moves me to tears. Thank you for the intensity of your worship and the love in your eyes when you look at your people and when you look at your God. Thank you for praying over us and praying with us and praying for us. God bless keep you and all parishioners safe 🙏
Fr Mike, thank you so much for giving us the Bible in a Year. I'm doing it for the 3rd time and every day I learn more about God. At times he seems distant and unforgiven, especially in the Old Testament, but I have discovered that he loves his people and wants the best for them. So sometimes he had to cause them pain and suffering, but he always said, I am your God and you will be my people. And he gave us his greatest gift, his only begotten Son. So please read Father's Bible in a Year. You won't regret it ❤
Michael the archangel protect us always along with the legions of holy angels under your command and may Mary queen of heaven and earth be queen of every heart forever and ever amen and amen
Father Mike, thank you for this mass and how are you explain the Bible so beautifully and now I will go listen to your podcast because I still remain confused. God bless you.
Such a great message about the Holy Bible and how we must try to see God's Will, God's presence and grace on each page instead of trying to find ourselves on them. Once we know about God's desires and plans, we automatically find ourselves and solutions for our problems. We indeed need a teacher to guide us about the Bible. Fr. Mike does this excellently through the Mass and the podcasts- The Bible in a Year Podcast and The Catechism in a Year Podcast. The story about Jeff Cavins life journey and how he found his old home again is just awesome. The story about Michael and how God welcomed him back despite his disbelief is great. Even one verse or just one experience can help people to start reading Bible and know about Jesus. Thus, we must continue to share verses and our experiences. The story about Morocco and care package Bible was truly inspiring and shows why we must take Bible everywhere and send it to all. Thank you, Fr. Mike, the Pew Crew, and Team Ascension. God bless you and the fellow listeners
Hi Father Mike! Tried so many times to read the Bible to learn about god. I'm Catholic, attended Catholic School, went to church every day and every Sunday with my family. I'm now 60 years old! Fast forward, I came across Ascension almost 2 years ago. Jeff Cavins, Halo and this awesome priest! Not only am I finally learning and understanding the Bible, I'm getting closer to god. I'm so thankful for y'all! I attend your mass every Sunday here on TH-cam. I continue to learn from you every Sunday as well. Thank you Father Mike for all that you do for touching all our hearts
Thank you, dear Father, for supplying me with the way out of temptation and the power to face it victoriously. Please forgive me for the times when I succumbed to temptation and sinned. Please correct and forgive me for those times when I have chosen not to find your door of escape. Cleanse and restore me to faithful service, strengthen me for the trials and temptations ahead, and make me useful to your work in my world. In Jesus' name, I depend upon your promise and grace. Amen.
Thank you Fr Mike for being a servant of Christ. You have enriched my life so very much and I am forever grateful of finding you in 2020 🙏🏼 May God keep protecting and blessing you and all priests who do His will. Amen.
As a returned Peace Corps volunteer, the care package brought back memories! I also happened to live in Morocco a different time (apart from my Peace Corps time) in order to study Arabic. I was fortunate to live in a town where there was a Catholic church and I remember that during the important Christian holidays, Muslims would wish me holiday greetings and during Ramadan, my neighborhood bakery would gift me special breads and treats made only during Ramadan for kindness's sake. I am a practicing Catholic and I really enjoyed the Catholic community and Church where I had lived, and I especially enjoyed getting to live with Moroccans. God really is great.
Thank you so very much for this beautiful Mass. Father Mike you are very holy and inspiring and insightful. I liked and subscribed. I love you all. Prayers for peace in this world. 🌎 Amen. You who are reading this you are loved.
When I was in junior high and highschool, I had a goal to read the Bible that I got for confirmation, the Bible that my Grandma Francis read from and the Bible that my Grandma Phyllis read from. Those were 3 different Bibles and 3 different denominations. The NABRE was the one that had all the appropriate books in them, and the King James version was the hardest one to comprehend; but the RSV was my favorite one, because it was my confirmation Bible. Easy to read, easy to comprehend and easy to ponder God's Majesty; I did actually accomplish the goal of reading those Bibles all the way through. If you're not familiar with Fr. Mike's the Bible in a year study, check it out. It's worth the time to get to know Jesus. Thanks, Fr. Mike.
First time as a caretaker for my brother I didn’t think we could make it into church, so I dropped my kids off and he and I are sitting in the car. Thank you so much for this Mass Father!!!
Good morning to all prayers for all my family members and friends especially for my brother John and Sister Lu and my nephew Pepe for God’s blessings and mercy
Our God indeed is a covenant keeping God. Has he said a thing and not perform it? I watch how things unfold in my life, from penury to $356,000 every three months and I can only praise him and trust him more. Hallelujah🙌🏻❤️
After I raised up to 825k trading with her I bought a new House and a car here in the states 🇺🇸🇺🇸 also paid for my 10yrs old son's brain surgery (Oscar). Glory to God.shalom.
I've always wanted to be involved for a long time but the volatility in the price has been very confusing to me. Although I have watched a lot of TH-cam videos about it but I still find it hard to understand
Thank you dear Fr. Mike. God Bless you and your mission upon this Earth. I am going to pick up where I left off with The Bible In A Year Podcast. I started and stopped in between back in 2021-22. I’m going to do my very best to complete it.
Thank you Father Mike for today's mass! The story of Jeffery's house and study and where he kept his Bible's same place as that other man's childhood bedroom was amazing! God really does hear our prayers, and he shows up for us! He showed up for me today. I went to noon mass at my Church. I always am alone. I always pick the middle of the pew because of this, so families or couples can more easily be seated. Sometimes there are a few other people of either side of the pew where I sit, but not many. In my prayers, I have been asking God for a day to come when I am not alone, especially at mass. Today, I arrived at mass with minutes to spare, maybe 10 min total before it was to start. Now it's getting like 2min to start time, and it's just me still in the pew. I looked up at the cross, and said to Jesus, well I guess today I am really, really alone, and it made me sad. 1min to go and I can see our priest ready at the back of the church, and at that moment, not one, but two large families came in and filed into my pew on either side of me, one coming from the side door, and the other up the main aisle. My pew was so full, I was shoulder to shoulder with the persons on either side of me. At that moment I smiled, and chuckled to myself, because God does have a good sense of humour, teaching me my lessons of hope and patience, and above all, to trust in Him, and that with Him, I will never ever be truly alone. It was a really comforting feeling today. God bless you!

Last night, I fought and argued with God. I questioned Him on why would he create a world and lucifer, knowing that it would turn out that way it has. I'm thinking like a man, saying if I were like Him, I would not have created the earth. Lord forgive me.
I invite you (priests, and bishops, cardinals, and pope) to start placing the bible into the anthropological contexts of the different ages the various books were acrually written, not only for your sake but for the sake of the laity. Yes, we need to know the bible at the very least, but, too, we also need to know who the different deities were that influenced the Torah and Tanakh. Knowing them, we can understand and see how and where Gnosticism was born, how Allah rolled out, how the Hindu, Egyptian, Anatolian, Mesopotamian deities influenced trade and governance, how Ma and Ha formed the different "seas", how the Canaanite pantheon came to be, and how the Canaanite pantheon became the dietities we translate into the singular term, "God" in the OT. From this we can then come to Christ and understand His parables and we can know why the OT "God" is not a part of the Trinity, but was a prelude to understanding who the Trinity actually is. We can further understand how and why the Middle East is in such deep conflict, why they are on the wrong path, and how we should be responding as Christians. Right now we have one foot in the temple and we are calling El, "our God" while our other foot is before Christ and when we think of him, we think of Him as the "Elohim". This is erroneous and not good. From this perspective we certainly do not know who Christ is and we certain can't pretend to understand His meaning when He continually corrected the apostles in regard to the lessons and commandments of the OT. Anthropology. Understand the trade routes, understand the religions of 12000 BCE - 300 BCE and then 200 BCE - 700 ADE, understand the symbols of the deities and the different tribes (how, when, and why they were used). Your understanding of Christ will grow exponentially if you learn our religious history in context. We should not ever refer to "El" or "Yahweh" as "our God", ever. They should have taken Hallelujah out of our Church when Pope Ben the XVI called for "Yahweh" to stop being used. My guess is they didn't know "Jah" was the precursive deity to Yahweh. So, Hallelujah, "Hail El and Jah" is seriously not appropriate for a Christian to be singing. It just isn't.
The Bible is a difficult text, because it is a compilation of many ancient pieces of literature. The problem with many of the stories in the book is that the people within it are so foolish, so predictably cruel and at times idiotic, it is difficult to understand why a deity would tolerate such a species. The other problem is that culturally we no longer view ethics and justice as they did in the Bronze Age Mesopotamia. Bronze Age soldiers did not see a problem with wholesale slaughter of civilians. We do. So without a guide, it is very easy to walk away completely disgusted. I know I did as a teenager, when read it three times back to back.
And like many things Our Lord said, many don’t listen. Tho think in this day and age many think getting a tattoo of Jesus or the Cross is really honoring Our Lord and see no sin in it. I don’t like seeing a devil tattoo but a Cross I like. God is the judge,🙏🏽❤️

Father Mike, the holy Bible is not a source of tattoos. In Leviticus 19 God said "you shall not get a tattoo".
