FORD just released their earning and they beat, but their stock sold off. Investors know that Ford is going into some tough times and the headwinds might be too much for them to overcome, In this video I talk about their struggles and even show you what kind of prices they are trying to get for their new trucks. I also talk about problems with their EVs.
My name is Brandon and I am a used car dealer. I created Car Questions Answered to share the ins and outs of the used car market from my perspective. I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. My goal is to share information to help you make the best decisions while buying a car to save you money. I do not want car dealers taking advantage of you.

This is not a one size fits all statement, but here goes. If someone has a gently used vehicle(or two) that is paid for, runs well, fits their transportation needs...why the Hell(O) would they even think about a $1500/month vehicle payment for something "New and shiny"? I run 90% of my personal, around a small town, errands on a touring Can Am Spyder. It costs me about $7.00/week in premium gasoline. My older Chevy Avalanche is devoid of payments and is used as needed. Couple that with my wife's Prius that is also paid for...
Why in the name of anything fiscally sane would we finance a $1,500/month payment...NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!

Why? because I retain my vehicles for 20 years therefore and with the interest & insurance savings I can easily pay cash. however NOT when a pickup that's NOT an F350 diesel is over 70k. That's nuts I'm not paying those kindsa bucks for any gasser. EV is atta the question those things are a complete disaster unless you're in urbia charging at home. Ford's CEO seems to be doing a good job of changing the company but the problem is that Ford, and other legacy companies, waited too long to get serious about EVs. All of them were warned over and over that there was going to be a move away from internal combustion engines but they did not take those warnings seriously and didn't develop high quality EVs that people want to buy.
I don't know that pretty much any legacy car manufacturer is going to survive unless their governments bail them out. They don't have good EVs that they can sell at competitive prices and while they've depended on ICEV profits to get them through the changeover they're starting to see demand for ICEVs collapse.
It's happening slower in the US but rapidly in Asia and Europe. Right now GM and Ford have largely lost any sales into Asia and Europe.

So we drove around on Sunday’s looking at full sized 1500 models. $70,000 plus. I bought a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse LT out the door 44,908. And a much nicer & bigger vehicle plus 5,000 lbs towing capacity. I get 26 to 28.5 mph on the Hwy depending on driving conditions. So happy I didn’t buy the Ford Maverick. Ford Dealers make my skin crawl.

I told him, his in-ability to build the truck wasn't my fault and I wasn't paying it.
I literally walked out. They called me back and told me that they were going to keep my 500, my lawyer called them and informed them THEY changed the deal, not me and I would be coming in to get my 500 dollars.
When I showed up to get my 500, I was met with a ford lawyer who informed I wouldn't be getting my 500 back.
It was at this time my lawyer (who came along for a free lunch) handed him the lawsuit I was filing if I didn't either get my 500 back or the truck at the original deal.
The truck is now parked in my driveway and I will NEVER buy another ford as long as I live and I have been buying fords since I turned 14 in 1978.

Do car makers really think the average American can afford $45,000-$100,000 vehicles? They finally started offering affordable vehicles like the Maverick and dealers jacked up prices 10-15K. Not just a Ford thing, this is industry wide.

My almost 86 yr old father, involved in family farm his entire life, says the costs of trucks is due to tax breaks.
Farmers have no problem paying whatever, and writing them off as farm expenses. So, the average guy can’t afford one. He says the write-offs are so good, farmers get a new fully loaded up 4wd one every 3-4 yrs, and amortize it off farm expense.
