He doesn't. Simple. He's this year's young player that played one good match and now everyone is jumping on a ridiculous bandwagon. Needs to prove himself at first class level for longer than one match.

I've seen the Shield highlights. This guy is too raw, he's not ready for the craftiness of Bumrah and Shami . Blood him against Eng. I think he'll do well against conventional fast bowlers like Potts, Atkinson, Carse.
@@bencrabtree5647 yep, sample size across the board isn't enough. He's literally played one good first class match, on a flat Adelaide wicket against an attack that lacks any real venom. @@sammo5786 Likewise if Marsh opened after bowling. If it's strictly a specialist opener it's Bancroft (or Konstas with another century), If it's next best batter it's Inglis or McSweeney

A tragedy that Pucovski's career fell apart.
Steve smith batted 3 for nsw.
I bet marnus opens, smith 3 and I reckon they’ll pick Josh Inglis. He’s the best bat outside the Aus team atm.

Can we select an opener that is not near 30 or over it ? Like we need an actual young opener

Carey could open, or at least bat top six, so a pace allrounder like Hardie or Webster can be no.7
Too big of a work load in tests for WK to open the batting. They need a rest after squatting for 90+ overs.
