Why does WP not talk about our Reserves ?
His 2k nominated mp salary is far more worth than millions of dollars of minister pay. He perform really well given such low salary his passion for singaporean is felt. Except for those ple who wants karma of the suffering
PAP are now facing many hot issues today. One exclusive agreement with India CECA, senior ministers facing Corruption, GST increase in unprecedented inflation, Budget Flaws such as CPF accounts closure, training for senior career seeker etc. Till today all these legacy issues are still not address properly which is affecting SINGAPOREANS Lively hood such as Jobs, Benefits and Opportunities. As what many ex-PAP Ministers have said todays PAP have changed and solely moved towards FT instead of supporting Singaporeans.
Mr Leong, it is not so simply to release the amount of our reserve? We are surrounded my big countries and once others country knew about our reserve, they might starts to borrow. It is just like if we let our friends knew about our wealth, they will borrow and it is very difficult not to lend. Please do not suggest policies that might severely harm our country in long run. Good policy are for far sighted long run and not just shallow viewing it! I don’t agreed to disclosed our country reserve! Our country reserve must be always confidential

It is good to float this issue for discussion as our reserve has reached a meaningful size and question is are we going to keep adding it and do so at what cost. Some of the problems we face are transient like high oil prices due to war. If we are going to priced our things based on this then our prices will be inflated even oil price will eventually goes down. Prices will not drop if oil price go down. So there is a need for a stabilization fund to cushion such sharp increases to tame inflation and reduce cost of living. Handout is throwing money at the problem not solving the problem. PSP can consider proposing setting up of such funds to address transient issues.
There is an elephant monsterbating feverishly at one corner of the room but the People seems unaware still. The Reserves Logic seems flawed. How many generations have passed and have they enjoyed the reserves? So how many generations must SG reserves continue to accumulate before it can be used more for the tax payers for their sacrifices ? I suspect citizens don't understand that reserves is meant for them and it's their monies

Yes, it will not go away. The question is why do you want to reveal what you have to the world? Just like one family will not reveal how much money that they have in the bank and their asset. It is for strategical reason.
How can he say he aims to be a responsible opposition when he proposes to slow the growth of the reserve? I had never heard the Singaporeans say they wanted to slow the growth of the reserve. Quite the opposite actually. Many young people I spoke to actually want to quicken the growth of reserve! The reasons for them were cheeky but pragmatic. They said that with a bigger reserve comes a bigger net investment return contribution and therefore, more financial power for the government to spend on them. When I ask them how much is enough in the reserve? Again the answers were greedily shocking but smart.. They answered that reserves will be enough when the Net Investment Return Contribution equals or exceeds those of Singapore's entire spending needs. Then the one youth said to me, stupid uncle. It means that when the citizens no longer have to work 100 percent of our spending is financed by the returns from the reserve. This is so greedy, I thought to myself. But Hey, the youngsters are smart. Here we are, a low intellectual being talking about slowly the growth of reserve which can earn higher returns in the future and fatten Singapore's wallet. If this man can go into parliament, I don't see why anyone on the street can't.
@user Ya, the young people you talk to are so correct. LMW is telling the govt to slow down the growth of the reserves is like telling everyone to have LESS MONEY. DOES LMW AND HIS FAMILY WANT TO HAVE LESS MONEY? Ask him this question and see what he says. LMW is a traitor following the PSP leader who is a JUDAS, who betrayed JESUS.

Wait another 3 Generations? 60 years can loosely be regarded as 3 generations. Why do the people pay tax abd suffer and sacrifice themselves? 56 man years cited as how long accountants need to check the reserves long ago during the late Chong Teng Cheong time. Since then a long time has passed. How many man years needed now? What if the "smart" majority decide to allow another 56 man years ? Then impossible to audit? HK?😅 The majority is not Complicit because thats politically incorrect to say. The whole point of this is to review whether the accumulation of the reserves can be moderated and more to be spent on benefitting Singaporeans (not just LMW) today. If you have actually watched his speech, he actually made that point quite obvious.
@@AK8901 All said and done, LMW just wants to know how much is in the reserves. He does not represent all Singaporeans (he is not even an elected MP) and his views are mainly his own. LMW, by telling us to slow down the accumulation of the reserves is like telling all Singaporeans to have less savings in the bank. Does not make sense. LHL has challanged the opposition to bring this matter to the ballot box. PSP and LMW should show what they are capable of and win the next GE, form the govt, change the constitution so that he can reveal the amount in the reserves.

Small island Singapore population but we have mountains of reserves more than 1 trillion they are more than enough to feed our retired seniors who built up Singapore what we are today for generations instead our leaders are world highest paid uet our seniors are still working toygh works at food courts n washing plates at food courts instead of retiring happily looking after their grandchildren.

❤Does PSP only have a few members supporting their own videos? This proves something about Bo Chup and why the messages from Opposition is unable to be known to the general public in a critical mass level. Psp members only need to share the link with a one sentence summary. If you unable to even make use of this holiday period, you have no chance.
If a critical mass demands for transparency , its unlikely the G would not reveal. So, we need to dissect the issue deeper down to the roots. Status quo is really due to the voters mindset. The G can dont disclose but lets say 1m sporens step forward and indictate they are concerned or interested to know, its unlikely the G would not do something about it.
