- Malaysian Prime Minister, Anwar Ibrahim has launched a new anti-corruption effort, outlined in the National Anti-Corruption Strategies (NACS) 2024 - 2028.
In his effort to crack down on graft, he has gone after influential business and political figures, including former Finance Minister, Daim Zainuddin. The key ally of former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad faces two charges for failing to comply with a notice to declare his assets. Two of Mahathir’ sons, Mirzan and Mokhzani Mahathir, are also under investigation.
But Anwar’s critics say his corruption busting campaign is politically motivated, pointing to the dismissal of charges against his own ally in the government, UMNO President, Zahid Hamidi. What is behind the corruption crackdown in Malaysia? Will it remove the stain that was left by the 1MDB Scandal?

The clear answer is no. Najib been granted pardon and early release from prison. Malaysia is clearly sending a signal to all politician to be bold and take part in corruption. You will be pardon.

The way I see it Najib has a lot of influence. Balancing the fight against corruption and reviving the economy while maintaining social harmony is tough, but efforts are being made. He's not fully pardoned and it was his jail term was reduced from 12 to 6 years and his fine from RM210 million to RM50 million. He still faces ongoing court cases, which could extend his time. He’s currently 71.
And a lot of crooks especially chinese billionaires in Malaysia walks scott free. What does that signal?
It's really disheartening to see when leaders with questionable records remain in power despite promises of change. But let's not pretend, it's Anwar's choice that we have a coalition government with BN which consists of corrupted and kleptocratic leaders. The reality is coalition governments or compromises may lead to alliances that seem contradictory or unsatisfactory to certain voters.
Only in Malaysia, people would still vote for leaders that have incompetent track record, riddled with corruption cases and only pander to race/ religion rhetoric all day long. After all, this is democracy. The power is always in our hands, and like it or not, we are responsible in causing this situation where we have corrupted leaders remaining on top forever.

PMX has done a great job to battle corruption. TPM case is NDAA meaning it is just postpone as PH need UMNO to stay in power. That is the reality of our current politic. Corruption is still very prevalent, especially under the transport ministry, if you have been to Puspakom to do vehicle inspection, they will ask you to go into the room with the director and he will ask how much you willing to pay for the inspection, another time experience it was when a police setup a road block and claim I have violated the traffic rules and told me he can "help me", of course I rejected both of it, so I did my inspection twice and got the saman.
No point reporting these types of corruption, the police station will not take the report and even if you did make the report the police will threaten you that "if they found it to be "un-true", they will punish those who smear the polis", but at the end they will still do nothing to investigate it.
By the time you wanted to start your anti corruption drive plan. You are already voted out. 😅

Many are complaining about Zahid's (discharge not amounting to acquittal) DNAA. It's a court decision. The case still can be opened if there are new evidence/s that could implicate Zahid.
Malaysians followed the case. Those who follwed would say that the evidence of corruption was too weak for the court to decide that corruption did really take place.
Until new evidence is brought before the court, the case is still open for trial. Zahid is not off the hook yet. If anyone out there who has new evidence, please come forward.

Hahaha to you Pak Ngah if you care to go through court cases. Since you made a sweeping statement like that. Go do some research on DNAA cases and you'll find there have been numerous court judgements issuing DNAA verdits NOT involving politicians. Traffic offences are just the tip of the iceberg. Also, Kim Jong Nam murder case involving the public prosecutor and Siti Aisyah and Doan Thi Huong is one of the many not involving JPJ or politicians. Go do some research.

Corruption can be caught and sue but if some country leader just write it in the law, it cannot be sue.. end game is getting more money, same! Question is which is worse.
Judging from some feathers being ruffled coupled with the rise of the Malaysian currency against USD, Anwar is doing a good job from a rudimentary point of view. 😉

Anwar want to be joker of the year..? Is there an award for this..? I don't see any new prison buildings..so which state did they build them..cos every state need 5 or 6 that can house thousands. Anwar should say: "Can't beat them..join them.". That I believe..👈😁😁

In 2018 when Pakatan Harapan came into power they were making noises on 0.7billion debt. Now in 2024 we know the national debt is 1.6billion. How did it snow balled? Present out the figures by Muhidyin and I smail Sabri. How do you know these debts are valid? Maybe it is a kind of stealing or corruption.
Ngl I was a hater. But, after exposing myself to the political world. Learning new things, I realised we need professional/mature politics in Malaysia. We NEED to stop hating, and instead, give our full support to whoever holds the mantle of King and Prime Minister. No matter what party you support. Although I am not a fan of our PM Anwar, since he is the Prime Minister, we have to support him to achieve his manifestos. With that mindset, stability may be achieved.
Corruption is Malaysia’s culture and way of life. It pervades all levels of Malaysian society ( top, bottom, rich, poor ). It was strengthened by Mahatir’s New Economic Policy (NEP). The NEP which basically diverted resources was implemented on the lame pretext of social engineering. It will continue forever….if you have your hand in the purse, would you ever take your hand away ?

Sadly Malaysia is quite hopeless and its common people are suffering. Why? Pervasive corruption and many more problems.
In Malaysia, your tax dollars go to politician's pockets. Same in Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines. In communist countries, tge tax dollars go into taking care of party members. In developed countries, your tax dollars go into supporting immigrants and people too lazy to work. Never put your money into other people's hands.
