The biggest knife in the back for me was when I played valhalla for the first time, I am a big fan of AC games and was horrified how many armor sets are locked behind paywall in a SINGLE PLAYER game you have paid 60$ for. At this point they should just make their games free to play and sell skins. Fuck ubisoft
For me, it’s the fact after buying the physical copy of a game, and it’s your first modern Ubisoft game, you need to make an account just to play the game. What’s the point of buying a physical copy of the game if you can’t just play the game right away?
What's worse is that the game has an offline mode in it already (which the devs are using for debugging and testing). They just need to put in a little bit of effort into enabling it for users and they can freely shut down the servers or delist the game without fucking over the people who bought the game.
I’ve accidentally been boycotting them for years. Turns out, it’s pretty easy to boycott a company when all of their products are complete trash that aren’t worth the time it takes to boot them up. Siege is a parody of itself, Ass Creed hasn’t been good in years, Far Cry is bland, outlaws looks like a joke, and xdefiant is nothing more than a mediocre cod clone. The only game they’ve had in recent memory that was legitimately fun was riders republic, but it’ll most likely get the same fate the crew got, so I don’t care to get invested in it
3:50 subscribed for the funny and straight sense of humour , i miss it from the 90s... Nowadays ppl wouldnt say their opinion in order to earn some extra cents in youtube
Speaking of subscriptions, why do you need to make an account/subscription for a physical game, especially if that’s your first Ubisoft game? What’s the point of buying a physical copy if you can’t just plug it in and play? Edit: first Ubisoft game since the first Beyond Good and Evil for most.
I had 9 Taco Bell meals and 6 coffees this morning and the shit I took after still left a better taste in the mouth than any Ubisoft game in the last 8 years

To be brutally Honest I think the only good game franchise I like IS Farcry. All of them, to varying degrees but I never had a bad time really with any of them. AC is a mixed bag I loved odyssey but hated Valhalla. (Was never a huge fan of their old gameplay but still generally enjoyed playing them). Siege while having cringe story and characters is still pretty damn fun with friends but usually in short bursts of play sessions. UbiSoft is very liberal sometimes and it's really cringe and out of touch. But then they let me do chicken fights and play as Vass in Farcry 6 and it's just dumb fun. Overall, I get it. But there is still talent at that company, and sometimes it shines through. Idk Im kinda mixed, I don't think everything they put out these days is shovelware trash, nor do I think they are making masterpieces. Just generally good to great games imo.
i mean fair enough I have definitely enjoyed their games before. I just think they're a slimy out of touch company that desperately wants our money. And with farcry the newer ones aren't bad they are just rehashed versions of the old ones imo
