    Traxxas connector are super hard to solider on but it's the best to learn how to solider just my opinion and tamiya was the first connector and I wouldn't use high power lipo batteries to tamiya only used for NiCa batteries then you get Dean's connector that are easy to solider and can handle lipo then you got traxxas connector that aren't easy to solider but can handle higher voltage like 2s and 3s then you got EC5 and EC3 that can handle 3s to 6s lipo I been in this hobby way to long I haven't used XT60 connector because none of the companies that I have models from use them

    Nice thing about Deans is they're easily re-usable.

    • @jerryshobbies8224
      @jerryshobbies8224  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are. But so are EC's and XT's. Deans are still a pretty good plug, and I used them for years, but I really like the XT60's for smaller cars, and XT90's for my 1/8 cars. Easier to solder, they last a long time, and cheap! Also, if you get the Amass version of the plugs, they come with a terminal cover, so no heat shrink is needed. They make the plug a bit bigger, but it also makes a very clean install.

    Hi, thanks for the info, good points!! A question, the reasons applied to XT60, do they apply to XT90? Is XT90 just a bigger version of XT60 allowing more current/power to through?

      @@Oldmanlearns718 500w@48v is about 10 amps, fine for the xt60. But the battery already has xt90, so I'd use those. Also, I'd change the controller first, because there is less to go wrong.
      Practice on a scrap of spare wire and extra plug a few times. Soldering is not hard, but a little practice goes a long way. Plug a Male and female plug together when you solder, this will help keep you from melting the plastic on the plug. Good luck!

      yeah hobby shops are rip offs,kills me when guys say"I support my local hobby shop",these type of guys must not mind spending 3-4 times the amount of money at these hobby shops compared to online buying ie e bay ,amazon,wish and so on, i said it before an i will say again, hobby shops suck,they are rip offs,no wonder hobby shops are going under,i say they made their own bed, now they got to sleep in it.The lesson is these shops should not have been so greedy charging 2-3 times the money they should have,and that is why i buy all my rc stuff on line.

    • @jerryshobbies8224

      For brushed motors, you connect them parallel. For brushless you need 4 esc, one for each motor.

      @@stanleyx436 google "series vs parallel electrical connections " basically, parallel you tie all the + together, and all the - together. All motors get an equal share of power, and spin the same speed. Series, you string them together like Christmas lights, + to -. This way, the 1st motor gets the most power, the second a bit less, the third a bit less, the 4th a bit less. No good for motor in every wheel, your car will go in circles.
