    Will probably need to replace your short screws that hold the hinges for the doors in your house. Those are really short too.

      I've upgraded to 3-4 inch screws not the shorter ones that come in the kit.

    This is such a great video and series I had to subscribe as a thank you. I like how you got right to it, without music or a lot of talk and that you showed different alternatives and pro tips. You're very clever. Thank you for posting.

    I have 3 of those in my front door frame. I have a brand new knob from schlage to replace an old crappy one I had. Got a reinforced strikeplate for the kob that's about 3x the length, replaced all the door hinge screws with 3 inch wood screws, and even use a stick one of those security bars under the door knob. Why? Because the more obstacles you give the bad guy the more likely it is he will give up. I have all the windows double blocked too with wedges and sticky things that make it impossible to push em up from the outside. Got cameras all around the house. Blackout curtains all around the house. I don't even live in a bad neighborhood or bad country. I live in the middle of nowhere but you know that one bad guy shows up in the middle of nowhere the cops aint showing up for 30 minutes and if he can't get in then I don't have to shoot him and get arrested!

    What brand of deadbolt would you recommend?

      I prefer deadbolts with key locks on both sides. Here's one that is highly rated: amzn.to/3neTKZF

    To be honest, based on the radius of the door swing, I don't think you needed to cut into the frame for the fourth install. But hey, you did, and now we know how it went. 😁

      I needed to do this, wish my install didn't require cutting in to the frame.

    Use the correct size vix bit instead of the center punch. Fit the chamfer on the hinge hole a the proper size pilot hole.

      I have an older expensive set, found a cheaper set at Harbor, there’s an Allen set screw to replace the drill bit or set a deeper depth.

      @@MakeItorBreakItNow I think what this person means is that they are not added protection for when you're leaving the house since you can't activate/engage them from the other side of your door. They are only good for when you are inside your home, which no one is denying is not a good thing in & of itself. But it would be nice to be able to engage them when you leave the house as well. Still overall, this is added protection so thank you for the information!!

    Ummm, an 800 lb super lock on a door with glass windows might not be a real effective deterrent for people who can break glass, reach in, and open your door.

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True, then again why go through a door when you can break a standard window. It's good to have multilayers of security.

    It's pointless to put them on doors that have windows on them.

    • @MakeItorBreakItNow
      @MakeItorBreakItNow  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      okay, maybe. Windows are usually easier to break in anyway, not doors. Many new doors have 3 or 4 panes of glass and aren't as easy to crack without drawing attention. My neighbors and I get along, so we cover for each other if we hear something funny...
