  • Princess Mary looked striking in red as she participated in celebrations of the 800 year anniversary of the Danish flag in Vordingborg, Denmark. The Danish royal, who was joined by her husband Crown Prince Frederik was a picture of sophistication as she coordinated her deep burgundy below-the-knee dress with a pair of stiletto heels.
Adding a splash of colour, Queen Margrethe also joined the proceedings as she opened the Danish Queen's Garden in Tallinn, Estonia. And it seems like red was the colour of the day as she donned a bold jacket which she paired with a stylish hat - along with a beaming smile.
Princess Mary, who has four children added a beige floral hat and matching clutch to complete her trendy outfit. Styling her dark brown hair in a chic side bun to show off her diamond earrings, the royal was also seen clutching a colourful bouquet.
Saturday's celebrations took place in multiple locations including Copenhagen and Estonia, where the Queen of Denmark arrived in style on board her royal yacht, Dannebrog. Two parachutists carrying Danish and Estonian flags jumped from a plane shortly after and she was then welcomed by Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid.
According to the myth, the flag fell from the sky during a battle between the Danish king Valdemar and local chieftains in Estonia in the year 1219. The reason for the celebration in Vordingborg is that this town with its large castle was King Valdemars city.
The Danish air force painted a F-16 jet fighter red and white, and at midday conducted a flyover over Denmark. The Queen, who wore over a red, blue and white dress, coordinated the visit with celebrations to mark Estonia's centennial as well as Estonian-Danish relations.
Later that day, she was joined by Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid and her spouse Georgi-Rene Maksimovski at the Arvo Part Centre for a gala dinner. Opting for an outfit change to continue the celebrations of the Danish flag - a white cross on a red background which is believed to be one of the oldest national flags still in use - she donned a white and blue floral dress.
During her two-day visit, she opened a dedicated exhibit at the Kadriorg Art Museum, participated in the opening of the Danish Queen’s Garden, and presented research scholarships. She finished her two-day royal engagement with a service at St Mary’s Cathedral, which was founded in 1219 shortly after the Danish conquest.
Queen Margrethe's youngest son, Prince Joachim attended a ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall Square - alongside interim prime minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen in attendance.

The people of Denmark must be very proud of the beautiful family that will inherit the throne, one day. Mary is so beautiful and a fitting partner for her husband, Frederick. 💕💕
