I found my Ray nearly 30 years ago at college , we got together aged 23 and will both be 47 this year. He is the kindest man I have ever known and we have a beautiful son together. The two of them are the greatest gifts in my life.

I’m 1963 I married a very special man who was also named Ray. We had barely been married for 10 years when I lost him to brain cancer. He was only 37 years old. But he left me with three precious gifts. A young girl of 9 years, another girl of 6 years and a boy of 4 years. Ray was a faithful man, my two girls married faithful men and I have 6 granddaughters all married to faithful men. What a beautiful film. I doubted that men like Ray existed, but if anyone is out there reading this, please know that they do. Selfless, faithful, strong, and dedicated to their wives - I married one and I thank God every day for him.
Ray is like a saint! He starts off willing to accept & marry a woman he just met who was pregnant out of wedlock & raise her child as his own then just continues to build on his awesomeness from there. This movie literally has to work it to show he does have some human imperfections but he is definitely way up in the stratosphere in the ratings of true gentlemen 🥰

No offence to cursing though, because sometimes it just needs to be in the language to be authentic. Take "Good Will Hunting" for example, it is brilliant and one of my all time favourite movies. There is lots of cursing in "Good Will Hunting" because it takes place in Boston and shows a young genius coming from a difficult background, so with less cursing it would not be believeable. It is my favourite movie to show a coming-of-age-story and very well written. Much respect to MD. 👏
Who said you could not make a profound, beautiful movie with « ordinary days » ?? Because if you look deep inside... nothing is ordinary ! SO thankful I could see this movie ✨
I wish I could say the same. It seems my parents had a difficult marriage but I hoped that I would find a good man but my life didn't turn out that way. I still have two children but my siblings passed away. It wasn't easy living in a dysfunctional family but life doesn't always don't turn out as we hope it would. Divorced due to emotional and pyhsical abuse. I am better alone.
I don't understand why I haven't seen this on the list of classic romantic movies. This is such an underrated film. 20 years and the magic still lives on.
Just a break away from the swearing, sex & nudity, jealousy, killing, evil & very dark crap that's being shoved in our faces. This movie is for the human soul. Thank you.
I agree , it's good to visit places like this , that really exist because there are people in this world who keep those negative aspects out of their lives.
I'm in 2024 :) I'm from Poland. I had never heard about this movie before. It actually popped up on TH-cam by chance, and I felt in my heart that I wanted to watch it. I did, and I think this movie is very beautiful in its simplicity and truly shows what true love is about. I'm very grateful that I could watch it online. I spent great time watching it.
I married a Ray, but his name is George. i met him through a friend three days latter we went on a date by ourselves. told my friend i’m going to marry him one day. I was 16 and now we have been married for 61 years. yes the 16 is not a typeo best movie i have seen in years. my George has dementia now and didn’t remember who I am . but every time i change his solid dipper he say thank you for taking care of me. “ for richer for poorer in sickness and health “ we are still married and in love. thank you God for my George.
This is one of the best films I have ever seen. So gentle and filled with love, understanding, forgiveness, and patience! Ray and his sister truly hold the fruits of the spirit!!
This film teaches me to love and accept those who love me instead of chasing the past and those who do not care about my feelings. Truly and inspirational film.
Wow. So wholesome. And what a man! What a beautiful display of how a woman adds to a loving man's life and what a man adds to a healing woman's life. ❤️
Another lost woman filled with Marxist Communist / Femi-Nazi propaganda, which has brainwashed her into believing, that she's not happy unless she is a (so called) independent woman. No one is independent, as we are all interdependent. A man needs a woman and a woman needs a man. Helen of Troy was the downfall of two kingdoms, and the character in this movie represents the same destruction. Men and women are not equal but men and women are equally important. Does she finally figure this out?
I honest to God do not know why there aren’t more WHOLESOME movies like this…I’m a person suffering with depression and my God was this movie such a blessing…it brought so much joy to my heart. ❤
Yeah these kind of flicks used to be all over the place in the 1990s. Mostly TV movies that I can recall, a lot of them. I agree they could make good wholesome films that aren’t corny and over the top. Maybe there’s just no demand for them? And television is so different now. There’s so many formats and options now. It’s possible the networks don’t have the financing either and stick to the series formats.
From Nigerian with love... I watched it just yesterday night!... Perfect!!😢😊😊 Now I'm seeking movies like it... I think old movies really are beautiful because they are without the wanton, selfish ideologies of today.
They’re out there. My husband is like this. I met him at 23 as a single mom. He was 29. I realized after I had my daughter I wanted a patient and gentle husband. My ex was mentally abusive and manipulative. He had no respect for me and would constantly cheat. My husband had been cheated on or unappreciated in almost all his other relationships. He wasn’t outgoing. He didn’t care for drinking, partying, or being the life of a party. He’s quiet, patient, meek, and extremely hard working. All he wanted was a wife and children. He just wants to work hard to give us a good life. Most young woman don’t see the value in that. They want a man who brings them flowers, showers them with gifts, and gives them grand gestures of love. I had all that with my ex. I realized after non of it mattered. I just wanted a husband who I was excited to see when he came home. They are out there my friend. There are so many good, loving man whose only purpose in life is to provide for his family. Pray, and I know God will send one your way. So many men yearn to just love and provide for a lady.
I'm so Grateful for the person who posted this full movie online (wonderful to see Keri Russell and Mare Winning ham again!) and to the person who posted clips of this beautiful movie to encourage many more to enjoy it!! Bless you! ❤
I am at a loss for words. Such a lovely movie. For a man to love like Ray was my dream. At 72 my time has passed but I hope young girls wait for the love of their life.
I am 52. I met a man like Ray when I was barely an adult. This movie reminded me of that particular person and while we're no longer together, I was glad to have met and spent some time with him.
Thank you for your comment and recommendation. I am 75 and on my own, but I hope and pray my granddaughter will meet a good man who will treat her right...
As long as there is breath and life in your body there is always a chance to find a special person to spend your final days with. Dont ever give up. One day of true love is better than a day without it.
I didn’t want this movie to end! I’ll be married 10 years this April and my husband is still just as sweet and kind and Ray was. Gentle and would do anything to make me happy. He is a Christian and seeks to love me as Christ loves His church. Ray was such a beautiful example of Jesus who loves with a selfless, consistent love. Beautiful movie! Definitely rewatching!

Same exact part that had my eyes filled with tears! So willing to love even through the awkwardness and differences. Not many people willing to step out of their comfort zone and endure the awkwardness these days
Finally a film that isn't about a woman that has to get married to a violent man. Most of the films are like that! But a loving man who cares about that woman and ultimately they fall in love and live a good life!
Watched this on Christmas day 2022 while nursing myself thru a food coma. Ended up crying at how sweet this story was. I miss these sort of wholesome, endearing and elevating movies.
@@JasonBorn89 And there are people in this world choosing either heating or food to live here in the uK - and this crass woman stuffs her bake!! Gross!!
In this fast paced and insane world we live in, it is nice to be remined about how much pleasure can be found in the simple life. Thank you for the reminder.
That's a lot of projection. She was not portrayed that way at all. He needed to do as much coming around as she did. The portrayal was about everyone coming together with better understanding, not devisivness! Stop taking sides! There are none.
@@shahmanz I actually agree with @ioodyssey3740, I do believe you've missed the point of the movie... I do suggest watching the movie couple more times 😉
A beautiful film depicting acceptance, forgiveness and generosity, the essence of true love. Lessons to be learnt from the husband observing the needs of his wife.
Im a born-again Christian, as of six year's, and waiting patiently for that godly man, now there is no such thing as a perfect husband or wife but I believe a godly man or women can be compatible for each other. amen. ...
I am born again as well as of four years ago today. I am also waiting for my godly husband and I know that God will bring him soon. It’s so nice to see someone born again and waiting on their husband like I am.
I had an aunt during this time in history that found herself pregnant. There were no options. She knew she could not have the baby and raise it on her own. My great uncle ( unrelated) found out and offered to marry her. She was a beautiful woman. He treated her with great respect and they never had any further children. She died early but her daughter was treated very well by all the family.
@@tamaralong8519 my grandfather's brother married my grandmother's sister because she was pregnant with another man's child. He did not want her to be an outcast or have a bad reputation. He was a good/kind man.
I was brought up in a dysfunctional middle-class family with authoritarian parents whom LOVE as in this movie was completely absent. I realized much later in life that even my parents never experienced LOVE in their families either and that gave me solace and peace in my old age to be grateful after all. This movie brought lot of tears to my eyes and wish I had some of the LOVE when I was growing up. I am not complaining and actually been blessed throughout my life, however, missed lots hugs, kisses and encouragements when I was younger.
Me too...my adoptive parents were abusive. When I finally heard 'I love you', it was said on the death bed. By then, it was too late and didn't matter anymore...
I agree!! She seems to be holding their cosy little world in a balance. Such characters always appeal to me as I’ve not come across such people in real life.
I cant imagine many would. I sure as heck wouldnt behave like that if livy was my sister in law. Id be all that sh*t. I wouldnt be tolerant of emotional affairs
This movie is a true treasure, and will be cherished forever. So gentle and heartfelt.❤ One of the very few movies I love watching over and over again.
I cant help to watch this movie over and over again. Beautifully crafted through it simplicity and authentic acting. The bottomline of the story is to treasure and to make the best memories out of ordinay days. It is so enchanting love story that delivers a heartwarming wholesome impact.
At the start of it i was as uneasy as livy. You work so hard for a future and to have your whole future gone, and to live with a man who appears ignorant on many levels. Its going to trigger a trauma response. I see it throughout the film until she changes her perspective and tmfinds a way to keep the old in the new.
I had been married to a boy I grew up with for 6 years. It was a big mistake from the first. I stayed for 8 long years. I was single for 5 years when I prayed and asked God to send me the man who He knew was right for me. Two weeks later I met Mr. Right. We married a year later and 33 years later he is still my gift from God and I still thank Him for this man every day.
I was married previously and I’m divorced now for almost 6 yrs. I too, asked God to send me someone but you know avail. I wonder why he did it for you but not for me.
@@robynalvin2849 I'm sorry but you're only supposed to marry once even if it doesn't work out. Unless one of the two dies before the other. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." Mark 10:9. "Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.". Even if it has been hard I think you should count your blessings you have yet to fall into adultery. I'm sorry. I hope you find solace in Jesus Christ. His love for you is far greater than any spouse could ever provide. God bless you.
@@robynalvin2849Aww …We all have different paths, some paths are covered with more tears, but remember that God saves all of our tears and I believe our tears will be gemstones in our crowns that we lay at His feet after this life is over. I divorced my first husband when I was 29 and married my second husband when I was 57. I’m 69 now and I am blessed with a wonderful man that I know is a gift from God that I feel I don’t deserve. He treats me like his queen. Sometimes “no” or “not yet” are the best answer, God knows what is best. If you try to force His hand you’ll only be sorry. Be patient and thankful for the blessing you do have so that you won’t worry about the things you don’t have. Be blessed ❤🙏
@@robynalvin2849Same happened to me, 15 years ago. I have three fatherless teenagers and I hope God remembers us too. I take them with me to Church every Sunday and I’m a good mother who knows my children are my most important job! We’re probably better off without a man, because if one would be immature, I don’t have the energy to raise a fourth “child”! But I do keep hoping for Mr. Right!

The magic of a beautiful film. The movie stays with you as the viewer in taken on the journey with Ray and Livvy. Skeet Ulrich and Keri Russell's performances are subtle but powerful. Each showing compassion for the other as they navigate getting to know each other under uncomfortable circumstances. Livvy is surprised by Ray's innate wisdom and touched by his gentleness and kindness. Ray's horizons are expanded while learning about the interests and dreams of Livvy. Great performances. Can't imagine another actor representing Ray better than Skeet Ulrich. His performance is magical.
Thank you Hallmark for making this film and itspinkuepink for posting it. How refreshing to see a film filled with kindness, patience and love. We need more of these!
Me too! It's so hard to reach this level of understanding when you're in love (full of insecurities!) and comprehend that she was rejecting you, not because she didn't want you, but because she was punishing herself ...
Yes. i loved him for his wisdom in that! she truly fell into a great world there. God actually does things like that.... i couldn't help but love ray & olivia, both. so very many of the newer Hallmark movies are trashy. so much so that if i had been aware that this is one of the newer ones i wouldn't have watched it--- even tho i accidentally clicked on it! but it's as good as the older ones which you could COUNT ON being good & heart warming (we never missed a one of them when they came on!!! everything else was excitedly put aside when it was time for them...). LOVED this! it is extremely rare that i watch a movie twice but this one, i know i will. Skeet Ulrich truly deserved the Best Actor award for his part. ty for posting.
For me that line showed how much he understood her, and why he was so perfect for her. I know initially he was irritated when ever she brought up what happened, but he also showed how much he listened to her and saw her pain. I also loved when Martha said, "there's one thing I never heard you say and that's how you feel about Ray". Martha told her in som many words that she fell in love with Ray.
This is one of my favorite films and have watched it several times. Ray is goodness itself and that love seeped into her guarded heart. And a simple lifestyle is not to be scorned, especially when they had a community who really loved their well bonded family.
I was married to a man who wasn’t actually very good at being a husband or a father. We had 4 children together & it wasn’t working so we divorced. I was a single mum of 4 little ones swearing to never marry again until I meet a farmer who is 18 yrs older than me & dad to 1 boy. Well everyone told me to not get involved as he was older not well off & had nothing to offer me. I didn’t listen he is the most wonderful dad to all our children 4boys&1girl the best husband & the love of my life. We have done many wonderful things together our children are grown & adore theirs step dad & his son adores me as I do him. Family isn’t about blood it’s about the people in your family I have truly been blessed ❤
This is really "The Magic of Ordinary Days", I love how calm the film is, how meaningful the dialogues are, how humane the story is. Everything is so simple and so powerful. I've watched this many times but still love it. People love Ray for his kind heart, but I think Ray's sister is also a generous woman with a positive energy, she was kinda shocked when Livy wanted to leave, but never judged her at all. Everything is perfect and this is one of the best films I've ever watched. Thank you so much for sharing
I first saw thhis flim about 10 years ago...i own a copy and i still watch it over and over lol its a wonderful lesson, that we could all stand to learn... there is something magical in accepting each other and being together.
I cried like hell while watching this movie. It became my top favorite after it ends. Loved this so much. It was so calming as well as the women empowerment was top notch.❤❤❤
This is 2024 and my mother and dad were married by the 1950's and so I am really enjoying this. It's funny to realize you've been on the earth almost 70 years.
Oh, how I would love to see a "Part 2" of this! Ray and Livvy having more children. Rose and Florence becoming respected professionals. Martha's kids getting on in life. A series would be even better!
I saw it last year for the first time and it has become one of my favourite films to watch ❤️ Love its simplicity, vulnerability, purity, Christian values and its message. Thank you for the upload - really appreciate it ❤
I married a' Ray'.when we met i was coming out of a very complicated long relationship that left me never the same.i was messed up emotionally and all other ways..but i married him still, when i look back i realise i took a huge risk, it could have been disastrous.I must say that after 8 years of marriage i appreciate him ever more for being patient, respectful, loving, kind and so humble all these years.at times i feel i dont deserve him but am thankful that he endured the complications .he taught me by his actions and kind words to emulate him and try to love him if not the same but similar with my imperfections.. Il be forever thankful for experiencing true love with my husband
I love the quiet development of this film and the characters. It really says something about getting to the base of what it means to love and become a family. I first watched this years ago and then forgot until it came up on my algorithm. I'm so grateful to have rediscovered it.
Can't remember how many times I've watched this movie. Bought it from iTunes. Worth having in your own collection. Many years from now, this will become beloved classic. Skeet won as best actor for his role as Ray.
2023 - and this movie is still the most beautiful ever !! Wonderfully done, perfectly crafted with perfect casting - this Movie is the epitome of Everything good and beautiful in Life ! ❤ Movie does full justice to the Book ! Everyone everywhere in the World can relate to this wonderful Movie !
I found this movie on TH-cam by chance. What a lovely relief to watch something with real chemistry between the actors, with suspense, and gorgeous American landscapes. Completely devoid of the ugliness of much modern stuff I enjoyed every minute.
How could I not know about this film before? The story is just so sweet and Ray, good god, is unbelievably wonderful. I couldn’t help but cried when he said “ and I love that baby”. I guess if Livy had not already fallen for him before unknowingly, she would at that moment! I’ll definitely watch this movie over and over.
My dear friend in Oregon and I both watch it yearly, and also the original "Anne of Green Gables". We adore this , and met on a double date in 1971! Her husband and my date (best friends) turned out to be handsome, charming cheaters, but she and I are like sisters. So good CAN come from bad situations. Her friend from Christian h.s. and she sat down and talked when both had divorced their cheating 1st spouses, and decided to marry. He raised her two children and loves being grandfather to her five grands. She had fixed me up with him in 1971, before he had married. He was older and very intense on wanting to marry; and I was just 17 and newly dating, so the chemistry wasn't there on my part. But he was a total gentleman on our one date; and I knew when she and I reconnected and I found out they had married that she had a Ray and was a lucky girl. I smile thinking about them together all these years, and their family is always in my prayers. God is so good! He is always in the backgound working on our behalf, even when we are unaware and when times look bleak. It is only when we look back over time that we can see how he let everything fall into place to bring about His magnificent Will for our lives. And when you study your family history and learn who your ancestors were and their stories, you become aware and thankful for the threads connecting you to people in history. You see how His hand has covered your family down through the generations.
This movie has touched me so much! Most of all, his positive spirit (face to a woman with a past and with no apparent intentions of having a true marriage with him) , his generosity, his forbearance and his gentleness! Due to all these, he finally made her love him! I was never like that in my relationships and that 's a big lesson for me... The second thing that was unexpected, is that he (with no studies, cultural and social status, no experiences on love affairs, as she has) appears in the beginning as a simple farmer with no value at all, but on the course of the events, proves to be more confident than her!
Yes Eva, I agree with you that Ray was a fine man. I believe he was also very knowledge... what is required to be a sugar beet farmer? Ray had to know when to plant (growing season) and when to harvest this very perishable vegetable for the market. He would need to have learned which sugar beet brand to grow in his type of soil. This would require some study in agronomy. How and what fertization for a good yield, which would require some study in chemistry. What percent of (Nitrogen, Phosphorus & Potassium)? Ray would need a good understanding of accounting to keep accurate records to pay back his loans to the bank after each annual harvest for the money he borrowed for seed, fertizer, and fuel. A simple farmer he was not, he was owner and a sucessful operator of a small business.

I wish I could say the same. It seems my parents had a difficult marriage but I hoped that I would find a good man but my life didn't turn out that way. I don't understand why I haven't seen this on the list of classic romantic movies. This is such an underrated film. 20 years and the magic still lives on.
This movie was food for the soul, thank you.

It's been a while since I've seen a FEEL GOOD movie. Hollywood, when It makes GOOD....

We have to learn the hard way. After chasing excitement in ours lives we finally realize ordinary days are the best.
Yeah there’s nothing like living a peaceful time

Yes, men and women are made to compliment each other and become one being - not compete with each other.

Beautifully expressed, such an inspirational movie, great feeling ❤
Yeah these kind of flicks used to be all over the place in the 1990s. Mostly TV movies that I can recall, a lot of them. I agree they could make good wholesome films that aren’t corny and over the top. Maybe there’s just no demand for them? And television is so different now. There’s so many formats and options now. It’s possible the networks don’t have the financing either and stick to the series formats.

Thank you for posting this sweet gentle film. The woman learns so much humility from her husband.
I wish I had met a man in my lifetime that loved me like this❤😢
It's never too late.

You probably met multiple men like this, but you didn't want him because he was too nice.

Gran you're still alive, you won't get all she has but who says your Ray isn't out there still hoping someone like you
Seems like you may have at least 20 years left...perhaps you should get out. 20 years is a long time alone.
This movie is almost 20 years old but hasn't aged a day. Beautifully done.
Seems as though it's picked up in popularity because clips from the movie were making the rounds on TikTok a little while ago.
Man reminds me a lot of my husband. The kindest man I ever met in my life. He was the best husband and father anyone could ever imagine.❤

Ray is often able to hold his own when she tries to use logic from her superior education. Shows education is more than just going to school
That's a lot of projection. She was not portrayed that way at all. He needed to do as much coming around as she did. The portrayal was about everyone coming together with better understanding, not devisivness! Stop taking sides! There are none.

The spiritual love that Ray has given to Livy is the treasure in a relationship as a couple. Love this film. ❤

I cant imagine many would. I sure as heck wouldnt behave like that if livy was my sister in law. Id be all that sh*t. I wouldnt be tolerant of emotional affairs

One of the very few movies I love watching over and over again.

The magic of a beautiful film. The movie stays with you as the viewer in taken on the journey with Ray and Livvy.
Skeet Ulrich and Keri Russell's performances are subtle but powerful. Each showing compassion for the other as
they navigate getting to know each other under uncomfortable circumstances.

I must agree, this the best punch liner for me and very profound.
I love that too, it's so powerful and deep!
I really love Ray's tone & how he wants to please her...one of my favorite movies

Well everyone told me to not get involved as he was older
not well off & had nothing to offer me.

Remember watching this move few years ago. Glad found it again❤
But he was a total gentleman on our one date; and I knew when she and I reconnected and I found out
they had married that she had a Ray and was a lucky girl.
Beautiful movie this is what we need in theaters!
If I ever meet a Ray I’m gonna hold on to him for dear life🤞🏾💍💕

Ruach haKodesh put love in her heart for Ray
U can’t make someone love you, not even if ur practically a saint
Another lost woman filled with Marxist Communist / Femi-Nazi propaganda, which has brainwashed her into believing, that she's not happy unless she is a (so called) independent woman. No one is independent, as we are all interdependent. A man needs a woman and a woman needs a man. Helen of Troy was the downfall of two kingdoms, and the character in this movie represents the same destruction. Men and women are not equal but men and women are equally important. Does she finally figure this out? 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇
Absolutely refreshing and nourishing to the soul, mind and heart. We need more of these.
What a beautiful story.
This is how God intended it to be.
Hard working church going loving families.
I grew up in a time like this and miss the 1970 and 80's.
I would have never believed the world can change so much😢😢
I'm here because of Tiktok. Can't believe I'd find a free Romantic movie as beautiful and touching as this. I love everything about this film. From the costume & the location to the character's chemistry, made me fall in love with the story, wishing for more. Haven't seen Skeet since "SCREAM".
Even though there are bad men who weren’t taught right, there are men like Ray that exist and I thank the Lord and the parents who raise men like Ray. I am blessed to have met many friends who are like this and God willing hope to meet a guy like this one day. Thank you for sharing this movie ❤
Glad you enjoyed it ❤️
That kick!!!!
poor dogs out of the house into the cold!
