    A very well researched story of a great Queen.
    I wrote to Queen and King Hussain whilst he was at the Mayo clinic having treatment in 1998 wishing them well and sending him a certain Book! , and recieved a beautiful reply from the Palace in Oman . I never expected a response.

      King Hussein was a calculated opportunist ! He knew perfectly well what he will gain from the peace with Israel ! He was promised a lot by the USA. As a Keeper of Faith - one of his official royal titles - he cannot make peace with an Infidel Enemy !!! The law of the Qur'an ! But.....business FIRST ! As for queen Noor , she was/is very anti Israeli and quite antisemitic. She blamed Israel for everything wrong that happened in Jordan and with her late husband's disease ! So, like every one, she has her positive and negative sides.

    I remember when the news reports were that she & the King were early in their relationship. As an American, but being unaware of her Syrian roots, it seemed odd. Yet as the years went by it was very evident that it was a love match. It’s too bad that she’s essentially exiled from Jordan, as she could have been a huge asset if not for family infighting.

    The narrator was incorrect in stating that King Hussein went through three unsuccessful marriages before he married Queen Noor. His third marriage was a successful one and most likely would have lasted longer, but was tragically cut short when his wife was killed in a helicopter crash.

      Agree. But he left his second wife, mother of King Abdullah and three other children, for Alia which was very cruel. That is why there is a rift in the family. King Abdallah was very loyal to his mother. That is also why Abdallahs son is now the crown prince.

    I was gobsmacked when I read a biography* of King Hussein. He was a fighter pilot who wasn't just playing pilot. I gained a ton of respect for him after reading the biography. I gained respect for Queen Noor by the way she carried herself and the things she did as the Queen and wife of King Hussein. *[Interviews With History by Oriana Fallaci - incredible compilation of interviews she conducted with various different people such as Golda Meir, Arafat of the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization), Henry Kissinger, Indira Ghandi, Libya's Ghaddafi, etc., and, of course, King Hussein of Jordan. Very well written and an interesting read.]

    Thank you for selecting the beautiful Lisa Halaby/ Queen Noor on your biography today. I have always admired her, she was and is still a beauty. I remember the time she wed the King of Jordan, that was magical!!!! They truly loved each other very much. Queen Noor was very good and did a lot for her new country and it's people. I like King Abdullah but I think he did not follow his father's wishes after death. Things would have been easier if Prince Hamsah did not revolt against the Government; he sealed his fate. Rivalry with the half brothers was definitely not good. Sad Queen Rania and Queen Noor did not get along, things did not turn out as the late king would have liked. I hope Queen Noor is content with her present life and she can travel to Jordan and visit the 4 children she had with the King. Her husband was the pillar that held their family life together without him, King Abdullah can do whatever he decides. And Lisa Halaby is not part of their life anymore. A very sad ending to a great love story. ❤

It's sad that our fellow men and women have forgotten when or days are gone your precious things do not help or go with you. We need people who do not have evil in there hearts. We all could be so happy if we cared fir each other. I know I am being a Pollyanna. We are kill each other. We all need to arm ourselves to protect ourselves from each other.

      It sickens me to see her cavorting with the then prince Charles yet never taking a stand on the mistreatment of Palestinians in Gaza. She remains mum because of all the American taxpayers money she and her husband receive to keep Palestinians contained in Jordan instead of their birth place ( Rania is Palestinian) The Jordanians complete existence is funded by American taxpayers. To her credit she tried bringing up honor killings and how illegal and backward the thinking was but was stopped by death threats. Killing your daughter or sister for being " immoral" continues to go on. American taxpayers should put stipulations or conditions on the money given to countries that allow this behavior with no accountability like the American feminists who have done so in India where young teenage girls are gang raped ( in full view of elderly passengers) on busses. If the girl survives ( many die from their injuries) and goes to the police the police rape her too or set her home on fire. Many of the parents of the girls disown and turn away their daughters from shame ( it was the girls fault for riding in a bus) and impending harassment and violence. DISPICABLE!

    But really this is sad for her...she was his fourth wife....so her eldest son could never been the heir!!
    That is given to the first son from his first wife....so justified and honest!
    The King of Jordan is the real and justify King married with Queen Rania...and their eldest son is the true heir!!! Justice is been served!

    • @lanaofficiel4042
      @lanaofficiel4042 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What justice??? Rania is a snake and her Palestinian family have taken over Jordan. Jordan has become more Palestinian than Jordanian. It's well known in Jordan that you can't do business in Jordan unless you pay a bribe to one of Rania's brothers. King Abdullah allowed his low class Palestinian in laws TAKE OVER the country and that's what Queen Noor's son took issue with. King Hussein NEVER let any of his in laws interfere with the daily running of the nation's affairs. Queen Rania is low brow, she will NEVER be as classy and sophisticated as Queen Noor. Jordan will go down under King Abdullah. Rania and her family are corrupt and they are talking the country down the toilet.

      Ivanka trump had to convert to the Jewish faith if she wanted to marry kushner. Because he is an Orthodox Jew his children wouldn't be considered Jewish if the mother isn't Jewish. Also I had a college professor who was an atheist Jewish in her 40s who invited her students to her wedding to a 32 year old English athiest. She told him that unless he was circumcised she wouldn't marry him. He was circumcised. I didn't go to the wedding because I was so insulted that tradition and backwards thinking from a woman with a doctorate could prevail.

      Abdullah is half British and whereas Hamsah is of Arab descent on his mother's side and some used that to suggest he would be better as king (they do not have the same history of primogeniture as other countries). Hamsah was accused of trying to take over as King, and even if he was innocent, it is likely there were those who were not. Abdullah had no choice but to take action or his rule would not have survived. Abdullah is a good king - astute and Western oriented like his father. He has kept Jordan from extremism.

      No one served the interests of the USA, but the usa will not let him in. No country would dare challenge the and give a shelter. Sadat was, I think, asked by a third country. Leaders and like countries don't have friends, they deals, benefits or interests. Those deslings are over when the leaders are no longer to produce. Don't take personal. Many leaders, especially royalty, betray their own fathers, brothers, and even sons.
      Sadat paid for it with his life.
