- Hey Guys!
Leda's Sword is amazing in 1v1 Duels, highly recommend a high dexterity build to try this weapon along with the Fine Crucible Feather talisman and Retaliatory Crossed Tree Talisman to focus on the backstep playstyle. Use the Full Needle Knight Leda armorset for maximum cosplay!

Don’t forget Leda’s weapon art removes both buffs and debuffs off the enemy that hit. So let them buff up and nullify em out
I'll be honest, I had no clue it did this. That's amazing! Thanks for filling me in
but be carefull it also removes debuffs and status effects
@@midorayo1149I. I😅I
This weapon is very rude to moonlight greatsword enjoyers
@@lykos9836 damn I didn't even consider how hard it counters DMGS, you can just use the weapon art any time they try and buff lol
Based “I don’t really care if it’s meta” player helping keep og pvp alive.
I don't really see anyone having mentioned this, but in case you're still curious - the reason the backsteps feel like they come out faster than rolls, is that backstep happens the moment you press the input - whereas roll happens when you release it (I believe this is called "negative edge" in fighting games?). This is due to rolling and sprinting sharing an input - the game can't tell whether you want to roll or sprint until you release the button. But when you input a backstep, you aren't holding any direction on the analogue stick, so there's no need for the game to wait and see if you want to sprint.
That split second of extra time it takes for the button to release really makes a difference sometimes.
Also love your commitment to the cosplay. Fantastic stuff!
makes a lot of sense that the backstep comes out on button press instead of button release. Makes a massive difference
Damn, this build looks fabulous. The attacks flow into each other so beautifully
They really do! I loved playing this build, makes me like Needle knight Leda a lot more
Funny thing is i think the one handed move set is better than the power stance but the backstep power stance is better than one handed it shreds hp
@@ALUCARDTWILLIGHT agreed 100%, I think the powerstance works better for the back step because you hit with both at once and it breaks most player's poise. The 2H moveset is better overall, but the light Greatsword doesn't do much poise damage on its own so it doesn't work as well with the back step strat imo
@@VonSchnitz yh not doing more poise DMG really hurts when every one is beefed up. I've been trying to work on a different build myself with renallas sword and the carian sorcery sword (yes the one with garbage damage q,q don't remind me). It's been a really fun experience minus the sorcery DMG which is basically tickles. 1H moves and raiper poke kinda compliment each other.
@@ALUCARDTWILLIGHT I'm hoping they buff the poise damage that light greatsword does by a bit come the first adjustment patch
casually walking around with a harpoon sticking out of your head, still full hp. that other guy must've been so pissed
twas but a flesh wound
Important thing to note about using the Fine Crucible Talisman - you'll be taking 15% more damage from all sources. So use with caution. It's totally worth the downside if you manage to avoid even 1 attack with the back step i-frames and land a punish back step attack. Have fun with the build!
is it good for pve? or not worth it?
@TrialFireWork I'd say that dodging & evasion talismans are generally inferior in pve compared to straight up blocking or endure spamming through attacks. Remember that fromsoft designed the bosses with bloodhound step in mind, an ash most traditional soulsbourne pvpers consider to be outright broken.
@@TrialFireWork if ur playstyle is more dexterity based u will get punishes mid combo of a boss that wont be possible with a dodge
@@TrialFireWork test it out for yourself! It's good for certain bosses since back stepping is easier than rolling. Not so good for other things
Leda's Armor also boosts both running attacks and backstep/rolling attacks
Forever wearing Leda's armor, coolest drip, awesome weapon and my favorite character from the DLC.
@@Caspianm2 Leda's armor and sword are both so slick
I was skeptic of using Leda's Needle as well as that crucible talisman (because I cannot do ravioli backsteps and overall am not great), but you absolutely convinced me to make a build like this. Didn't know about that Leda talisman tho, very good to pair with the armor! Thanks for the vid
Bro I suck with the ravioli back steps too, I only managed to land 1 in this play session 😂 the back step i-frames are so good regardless and the light Greatsword moveset is so satisfying
My build was pretty close to this one already, so I just swapped out one of my talismans for the feather talisman (which I never used because it didn't look great from the description) and it's honestly one of the more fun builds I've done in a while. Backstep punishes are great.
@@casual2694 the backstep talisman is so fun! adds a whole new dimension to your playstyle
Good fights dude. I like the fast edits to matches too.

That is a very neat build idea, and very well executed at that. I might try this out myself!
thanks! I definitely would recommend trying it

Also the preformance is good, well done

@@VonSchnitz true, but sadly I won't be able to try it myself. Been dying to try out Elden Ring but my old potato pc can't handle it. If you want to edit the armor to get 50 poise break for fashion, I’d use the black knight gauntlets over the oathseeker since the colors remain consistent with the set.
@@AskwhoQ fantastic idea tbh
I wish her sword was a smithing stone weapon I don't like that ash of war at all, and the sword itself looks so sick I would use that sword with so many builds.
Yeah wish I could put a different ash on it
well u can use Mylady for one of the sword, u dont need to use two Leda sword.
@@Darealpokgai milady it to thin looks like a rapier almost I do use it though since you can put ashes on it.
Ive been using the fine crucible feather talisman in the arena since Day 1 of the DLC with Milady and honestly, its the most fun I've had with back steps and methodical movement in PvP since DS2.
Now to do Leda's quest again on Ng+7 round 2 for the crossed tree. Awesome video. 😁
@@vooligan9499 glad you enjoyed the vid! And glad we can get a little bit of DS2 in Elden ring now!

This looks interesting thanks for sharing.
Ofc, happy to share all my best build ideas 💯
I've been looking through your videos for a bit, def got a sub from me, love the content!
glad to hear it! welcome bro!
Beautiful
This build has everything and I'm all for it!
it's a great build, all around versatile
You could use the Black Knight gauntlets and greaves to preserve the fashion of the build, while giving yourself some more poise!
Very nice build. Unique and strong too.
and most importantly, very fun!
We had a couple of duels yesterday with this Leda Build and i accidentaly bumped into your youtube account today. My Characters name was Luna. Sad there's none of our fights here.. GG's though! You're cool. Subscribed ;)
@@DenisMastorakis hey thanks for the sub, and GGs if we fought! I don't end up recording everything, especially when I'm first trying out a new build so I may not have had footage of our fights. Perhaps in a future vid 😄
I like how fast the weapon allows you to attack
@@dferas5535 it's a very swift and flow-y moveset, definitely stylish
@@VonSchnitz I'll definitely try them out alongside the fist weapons
Leda is the goat for helping me during Rellana 🐐
Solitude armor works nice with the Leda chest piece I found
Holyshit sick build
You should try it with the dryleaf art! So you look like a cool monk hehe
Thanks dude! Definitely recommend trying it
I was trying a bird monk build using the divine bird gear and the kicking talisman, we'll see if I get it to work well and I'll make a vid on it
If you use the Lacerating Crossed- Tree talisman that you get from helping Leda kill the hornsent, you can also further empower dash attacks that works with the armor even more in case you want to swap to another weapon that uses dash attacks as well to add further mix ups
I was less interested in the dash attacks for this build
@@VonSchnitzYou can go for the other talisman from helping Leda kill Ansbach, that’ll give you boost to backstep/rolling/crouching attacks
Nastyyyyyyyyy
The backstep lunge attack comes out really fast its hard to dodge it. Although you take more damage, the fact that it can catch people off guard is worth the payoff. I wonder if itd be cool to use this technique for some cool boss kills. I just realized another thing, you can actually make use this build for power stancing two daggers because of how fast you can hit back with the lunge attack, double Sacred and Flame Erdsteel daggers here I come.
@@sticky0159 sounds fantastic for daggers, and this is definitely useful on many bosses
Bro your so good lol
@@Buddyguy1988 hey thanks 🙏
Well you have inspired me to make a very cute build indeed.
enjoy it!
3:08 rare unicorn sighting
This build looks actually so solid.
@@NaYoungSeung it's honestly good 💯 had a high winrate using it, only lost to very good players and mostly because of my lack of knowledge of the matchup since these are new weapons
Dude I have seen so much nostalgia trip shit since this dlc, this, takes me back to when Praise was still around ravioli stepping in ds3 with onikiri/ubadachi. It's a shame his job contract forced him to stop uploading and streaming.
this talisman works with quickstep spam too. (retaliatory crossed-tree)
that sounds deadly, I'll need to try this as well
What is that thing u did at the beginning against the harpoon guy?
@@itheghxstz-7763 you mean the back step? I'm using a talisman that gives my back step i-frames, just like rolling
Someone told me recently that 88 poise isn't enough to survive a hit from an 88 poise attack. You need 89. Is this true?
88 has been the correct poise to have for like 16 months. Not sure if the recent patch changed that
so I am doing a Leda "roleplay" for PvE
and am thinking about using both her talismans. not sure what other 2 I should use tho
Fun set up, using Rellana twin swords on my int faith build, but the low poise damage these do make them a real struggle to use against high poise, hyperarmor, and meta set ups (suprised you didn't run into swift slash lol)
13:52 also after all this time how is black flame ritual still so unbelievably ass lol
@@emsharingan8639 oh I ran into a couple swift slashers, no reason to include footage of me getting stun locked by bleed swift slash 🤣
Please do a Moore inspired build or atleast make one with the verdegris armor and talisman I think it has a lot of potential 🙏🙏
@@pete-ot4nu oh boy I'll give it a shot! Using verdigris talisman in PvP means I'd need to go heavy roll which is often suicide
How to ravioli backstop without previous Input? Like I would normally whiff and then reverse back step. How do you do it from neutral?
@@LunarSpellbook just have to be fast with your input, you tap your dodge button, then immediately after hold the left analog stick in the opposite direction that you want to move. If you end up rolling, you're pressing the direction input too fast. If you end up back stepping normally, you're inputting the directional input too slowly. It takes practice to get the sweet spot. You also cannot do this while locked on to an opponent so be sure to unlock
@@VonSchnitz I figured it out pretty quickly after logging in because it was bugging me that I didn’t know lol. Thanks tho! I really loved this video, as I am a huge fan of dark souls 2 pvp! Tried the talisman and I love it, but the damage debuff makes losing easy. You’ll be taking so much more damage while trying to use backstops in a meta that doesn’t need them. However I will be practicing with it, but a losing streak makes me have to take it off for a bit.
@@LunarSpellbook it adds a large risk, but with a pretty massive reward if you know when to use it. You have to play extremely carefully with your HP and never go for trades. just whiff punish with the backstep
Does the armor and talisman increase all damage after back step? AoW as well?
No, just the damage of the backstep attack. That's the single attack you input immediately after backstepping
2:25 got me acting crazy
@@sleepy1629 backstep i-frames do that 😎
Well now i know two talismans i didnt know existed. I missed her questline on my first playthru. Dev gonna nab them
the retaliatory talisman is from her questline, but the fine crucible feather talisman is found in the ancient ruins of rauh. both are great pickups
u can use sword of light to buff damage too right since her sword has holy damage
@@Darealpokgai certainly can!
do you play on one of those saves that has every item unlocked?
@@turbotegs2102 on this character, Yes. This is my PC character. I also play a few characters on PS5 that do not have this luxury. However, the PC character helps me create more builds for videos, otherwise I would need to play through the game each time on a new character on console
4:58 cat agrees
I'll start featuring kitty meow cameos more often
Def try to switch talismans for more focus against Sleep Builds
you could try the crit talisman for extra backstab damage
@@edgelord447 that's a great idea! Once I get better at the reverse back step, that's definitely the play
is it exactly the same build for Pve or is it only Pvp?
I mean you can do whatever you want in PvE, it's a very risky build vs bosses unless you're great with the back step timing. This is a highly skillful and flashy build , but very fun and satisfying to pull off correctly
It's honestly absurd how many armors have effects that are harder to activate and/or weaker than Leda's armor and also have a downside. This armor is going to be everywhere soon.
Wtf? That first clip was cool. I love the build man, but I think this build is for skillful players man, but thank you for sharing, the clips were amazing
This build certainly takes more skill than most, I felt like I was actively fighting against my muscle memory to try to make the backstep timing work lol. I feel like it can end up being a top tier dueling build with practice
@@VonSchnitz yep I kinda see that, the one fight with the guts greatsword, your back step timing was right, but I think the reason why you got caught is because of the distance, you have a gap between the enemy, so I think you should've delay the back step.
@@hystericbunny76 yep for sure

Uplifting aromatic , buffs damage + gives a defensive bubble , craftable perfume
Uplifting aromatic, consumables don't get consumed in Colosseum now so if you make 1 you can use it at the start of every match!

It's a consumable you can craft. You get the cookbook somewhere on Jagged Peak

Hey anyone in here duplicate by anychance I really messed up not doing her quest I didn't get the damage talisman

@@lonelykraken2768 there are ever several ways to get two. 1. Go to the next NG+ cycle and do it again. 2. Have someone trade you another copy. 3. Dupe the item. 4. If you're on PC, you can use cheat engine to simply grant yourself items
are you playing on PC or Xbox?
I do PC & PS5. This footage is from PC
They nerfed the talisman to improve back steps 😢 Is this build still good?
@@slimbu8136 have not tried it in patch 1.13 yet. It's probably still good, just requires more precise timing
@@VonSchnitzI don’t have the talisman yet but have you tried it yet in the new update?
The thing is the tali gives you a soreseal like negation penalty. On top of that you are using cosplay armor and playing at 150 so everything deals nuclear damage to you.
You're absolutely right and I don't care, still kicking ass 💪
This is totally unfair to other players, your cat gives you an unfair dps buff >:3
He sure does! Need that morale boost 😁
Holy moly Rust Bucket is even cheesier than he makes himself look in his videos. He's so insanely sweaty
@@deepism he's a great player and we were both trying out new things, don't think he was being too sweaty there. I really underestimated the new Trina's swords and didn't use my back step i-frames as well as I could've
@@VonSchnitz Yeah I'm not saying he's bad at all. But holy moly it looks like it would suck to fight him.

@@maartenneppelenbroek you don't know what you're talking about
A. It only stacks i-frames like that when you animation cancel it with a particular bow skill. Do you see me doing this here?
B. Where in this video do I spam backstep?
@@VonSchnitz Fine, it's not OP. Try fighting against it...
@@maartenneppelenbroek I mean it can be a little annoying, but I fought a couple people using it in this video. It wasn't that big of an issue.
I agree that the initial surprise can be devastating if you commit to a high momentum running attack and get reverse back-step backstabbed off of it, but once you see an opponent has that talisman, its pretty easy to play around it and delete them because of the reduced defenses
The backstep talisman is pure cheese because most players hated ds2. Unlucky for them thats still my favorite FS game.

Nice build but I don't think it fits my play style
Rolls have 0 startup, you gain invulnerability the first frame of the roll. Back step has a faster recovery. So it lets you attack faster, you can even cancel the recovery by blocking. and get close to 100% invulnerability
The new bloodhound step😔... From soft never learns🤦
You think this build would do already in pve? Lmao
This build is illegal !

rofl understandable and unfortunate 🤣Some of my next builds will be much more approachable
Unsubbed because you didn't pet the cat immediately.
I gave him some snacks and pets in between matches 😊
I'm sure you're having fun, but unfortunately, the amount of cheese Fromsoft included in DLC is very bad for its longevity, especially in PvP.
More variety is excellent for longevity. Balance is a little wonky right now, but that's to be expected. It took them a dozen patches to balance the base game and they will be patching the DLC regularly until balanced is achieved
15% is barely that much
@@hunterprice321 it definitely matters. It can be the difference between dying in 3 or 4 hits
this is hilarious because of how bad the netcode will always be. not because of some stupid talisman
Of course, noobs love to say this as if everything, like player skill, is meaningless just because of "bad netcode".
@Hop3. but it is. On a consistent connection, sure. Not in this game though.
Why bother using aromatic in arena if they dont buff, giving yourself more damage isnt part of your build and neither is it skillful. Just makes you have to hit them fewer times to win, but why be so sweaty to begin with lmao, why enforce an unfair fight until the opponent buffs as well? Ill never know why people spend so much time waving their arms around in the air before a fight instead of actually fighting.
Consumables don't get consumed in the Colosseum now after the DLC patch, so it's clear they wanted to promote consumable use. I don't see it as tryhard at all to use 1 consumable, what's your problem dude?
