Personally prefer EL34, but stealth is also good. It is just that I prefer the warmer tone instead of “clean” and “depressive” stealth. It’s tightness is for death metal, I guess. It is worth noticing that many bands from 80 till 00 were using el34 and Marshalls, this is probably where it also comes from for me. But anyway, el34 is all for me. This amp is just great. Stealth is also great but different, I’d not buy it if I had to pick either one or another, but if I could buy both, probably, I would. I also have the iconic 80w with 6L6 and it sounds quite close to stealth in my humble opinion. So I sort of already have the same stealth tone.
The Iconic is a fantastic amplifier! I’ve got that one as well. Well said on your description of the EL34 vs Stealth cleans. Couldn’t have said it better myself!
