If your worried about getting enough current for AC clutch and radio get rid of the under-drive pulleys, also will help with cooling during hot days.
You already had a 130 amp 3g alternator. Looks like just didn’t ad a bigger gauge wire to the alternator to the battery or earlier models would been to the solenoid. I have that same set up and the 130 amp is more then plenty for my stereo and electric fans ect. But the upgrade definitely helps with for safety and peace of mind. Hahaha I commented be I watch the whole thing! Lol
Great job, sir. The factory 62 amp alt from the factory wasn’t meant for the upgrades we are doing…..at idle. I have an 89 vert and the first upgrade I did was aluminum rad, E fans and a 130 amp.
Fox stang. Best sounding 200hp you'll ever hear. I drove mine for 10 years daily with stock alternator underdriven and with electric fan conversion. No charge problems ever. Lights dimmed slightly at idle but came up as soon as you moved. Currently buried in my garage. Your vids make me want to dust it off this spring. Might do.

@@maxfastest that Mustang is light which makes 190 hp more than enough for a daily driver to kick around in.
It wasn’t the 225hp we enjoyed back in the day… it was the 300lb/ft of torque in the light Fox chassis.

A 200 amp alternator will have no problem keeping up with any electrical draw with underdrive pulleys.
Melted wiring more often than not is caused by loose connections. Loose connections cause higher resistance = heat.
I’ve done that to solenoid also tighten to much and please buy a can black spray paint for that front bumper it’s driving my ocd crazy
Smaller alternator pullies don’t charge efficiently. And it needs a cowl hood 💪🏾

I've owned a few foxbodies, and I never knew that with the flow restrictor on the heater core, glad I came across that info, currently in the middle of putting an entire heat and ac system back in my fox.

Got new battery,new starter solonid,new old school starter,new ,130 amp sve alternator w/power wire,new 190 Waldron fp,new fuel relay,new fuel filter,sve silicone hoses,new stock water pump,new aero motive fuel pressure regulator,msd coil,msd box,msd dizzy,car starts right up great idal,haven’t gotten hot yet
I see a 175 amp mega fuse.
I would recommend getting rid of underdrive pulleys and go back to stock due to alternator doesn’t really charge at idle. Not worth the few hp you get over having alternator charging constantly
I probably will. It’s just what the car had when I bought it. I don’t even have any stock pullies. I’d need to find them

hells yea..they actually made a 95 amp new gen alternator for a while did not have to run any wires..bolt right on ..boom box ac and everything ive never had a prob ..they quit making it for some reason but 5 years later no prob dailey driver(ive heard the stocker alts are 55 amp at idle..low as fk...)
have 93 notch with 347 and just got rid of all my fuel injection stuff and installed a 650 carb with mechanical secondary and intake. Much better power but I miss the ease of cold starts in the mornings.
Those headlights look great.Its that shoddy paint that needs a fixin.Keep concentrating on the white Galaxie to get er finished!

I was thinking about that plaque you got from TH-cam, yesterday. I was at their facility in San Bruno, CA. location yesterday. I delivered new wood glulam roof beams to the construction site next door. They are building huge new buildings next door to their existing building.

did you put a bigger pulley on the alternator??? the one it came with looked smaller..... thats what u want especially running under drive pulleys... it will pout alot of stress on it on idle with the big one ... spin too slow
Just fyi, and me being an old guy, that engine stops making power with stock cam @4800 rpm. so if you’re turning it 6k it’s just a matter of time until a rod bolt lets go. Just trying to safe your daily

You should've used 0000 steel wool pads when cleaning. That, plus a cleaner/ polishing compound & you will be amazed at the results. FYI
Love to hear the Foxbody and the truck. Can't with to hear the truck with the new motor. When you get the Galaxies roaring it will be really great. NO! It will be a V8 SYMPHONY!!! 😁😁😁😁
That fox body has come a LONG way. I remember the rats nest you found under the driver dash. Whoever wired that up had 0 clucks to give.

Nice foxbody man. Me and my brother are going to pick him up one looks exactly the same but with stock suspension and wheels. What suspension are you runnin and wheel and tire size with offset so he can get that fitment look perfect for a daily
Mass air cleaned properly, with a base idle reset.... Fresh Plugs about every 10k miles and ride brother.... #StangBang errday
Hey Craig, aluminum foil and water will clean that chrome right up without scratching it near as much as steel wool.
I have a question did you follow lmrs wiring for the alternator? It’s not correct, do not hook the orange and black wires together on the positive side of the alternator. Also run a ground from the frame to the that alternator.

Love the mustang. Damn she sounds so good!. Several years ago I bought a 05 gt that had 47000 miles on it. I’ve got 115000 on it now and I got to change the cam phasers but been a great car. But I’ve always wanted a early 90s 5.0. I was gonna buy a 93 ( I think it was a 93) red 5.0. Was so clean but dude sold it five min before I got to his house😭. So that y I went with the 05 Don’t get me wrong the 05 been a amazing car but I really wanted the old fox body

If you're going to be working with stuff that rusts from time to time you owe it to yourself to buy a gallon jug of Evapo-Rust. The stuff is magic.

Dude. Get a 3g alternator. Amperage problems solved. If that doesn't solve your amperage problems than you need to check your fuse links and ignition switch. That should be all as far as your electrical. If the heater and AC aren't blowing and that's just simply vacuum lines. If you're running bigger vacuum lines thinking that'll help with airflow that's the big mistake most guys do. Run the stock vacuum lines just like they did from the factory none of us are smarter than the Ford Engineers that created that fucking car.

Only Sloppy Mechanics he installed 6 piston Cadillac calipers and new rotors on his Mustang with a very simple kit, think drill a couple holes and a wheel spacer. Huge improvement in braking.

Hey Craig, I’ve been watching for a while now and love your videos! I’ve got a 72 f100 and I worked on restoring a 65 mustang with my dad when I was in high school. Your galaxy videos remind me of cutting pieces off that mustang and learning how to weld new prices back on.
How bad is the fox body gas mileage? I currently drive a 2000 Lincoln LS v8 and it gets 20 but it takes premium. It’s a nice car: 63,000 miles and fully loaded, but I’m tired of expensive gas. Looking to possibly trade into a fox body if it gets similar gas mileage.
I get 18.5 average If I’m driving normally.

Yo Craig how bad is gas in the town car? I’m thinking of getting a marquis or crown Vic and I’m guessing that they would be the same as the town car. Also do you have any plans to do a carb swap on the Foxbody?
Grand marquis/Crown Vic/Lincoln town car will get 20 highway easy (maybe a little more) but will only get 15-16 city in my experience. I’m not Craig, but I hope this helps!

Right now in the Towncar with 32” tires and 4.56 gears it gets around 18. You can get over 20 easy if you leave the whole car stock
@@williamsanders468 yeah I understand. Currently I’m driving a Lincoln LS (with the v8) and it gets about 20. Bad part is it takes 93 octane and it is destroying my wallet.
@@jpsmith2329 Yeah currently I’ve got a tiny little Ranger, which saves me a lot on gas but I’ve beaten the piss out of it for the last 2 years and I’m not sure how much more abuse it can take. That and I wouldn’t mind having a 4.6 with some flowmasters.
