I think one of the things that helps these bikes overcome the certain restrictions in the UK is its cruise control just hold yourself at 15 mph or lower for about 8 to 10 seconds and then the cruise control will kick in and you can just enjoy the ride.

I use Juintech cable actuated hydraulic brakes. Don't need to bleed, use the same cable, incredible easy to adjust with just the turn of a knob and they work very well. Juintech M1 should be good enough for either of those bikes but they also have 4 piston brakes as well.

I push/ride fat bikes up Cwmcarn, and on the canal with the missus down to 14 locks Rogerstone also. I'm a photographer and drone enthusiast, so may take a camera or drone out also, with the fitting on the bars for a hand controller. So could be investing in two used ones before next spring. I know my mountain bikes as a home mechanic and had hundreds since the 1980s. I'm a big bloke, 20st so need a smaller diameter wheel and 4in tyre. My fat bikes are 26in wheel and 4in on one and 4.8in on two others, so know how they feel etc. But like the look of the two you are reviewing here, also the shape of the M20 and Fiido M1 or M21. I don't really need rear suspension, or even front suspension, but reliability as the priority and hopefully distance out with the missus next spring (helping her to get motivated). All I seem to be seeing is dodgy foreigners trying to rip me off for a new one on Marketplace, I guess they are all linked throughout the UK as all the ads look similar, so finding a used one, or even a new one is concerning me.

@@baconbuttties a random question for you, but what controls the LCD display? I have an Engwe engine X and a Deepower x20. Both have the identical LCD's. However when I attempt to lower the speed limit on the Deepower, it does nothing. The only way to lower its speed is in the power assist menu. And the throttle wont turn off. Holding the brake and throttle comes up as error 25, holding just the throttle error 22. Doesnt matter which one I do, it just halves the throttle power rather then turning it off. I even tried copying every setting off the Engine X but that didn't work, done a factory reset too. I don't understand why the same LCD isn't working the same on both bikes :)

If you don't unlock the speed and keep the bike within 15.5mph, does that make the bike road legal? Thanks:)

The Engine X has 250 watt stamped on the motor the EP 2 pro has 750 stamped on the motor, so the Engine would be classed as legal if leave it locked.

i had my suspicion after watching enough reviews that the motor is the same and they just put different sticker and maybe do something in the controller, so they can sell it in europe because they are not going to source new engines which might not even exist like 250w is a joke, the speed limit i can respect but forcing us to use something which has less power then the legs is stupid, i would not spend money on something i could easily do on normal bicycle for few hundreds.

@@baconbuttties yep mate. Had a random Halfords 250w with a water damaged display some guy sold to me a while ago for like £150. When I replaced it the screen had a wattage readout and that motor was pulling close to 600w when faced with any sort of challenge. Managed to flip it on Facebook for £450 after spending 30 quid and 5 minutes of my time fixing it lol. Even my 1500w rated motor will pull 2100w getting me up a hill which is pretty cool. These laws need a serious looking at as even the biggest sellers are putting out bikes which very often are obviously using far more than 250w.
