How To Approach An Insecure Dog

An insecure dog needs a calm and assertive leader.
Do NOT give attention to an insecure dog. Attention and “love” will intensify the insecurities.
Just let the dog be a dog. If you have other dogs that are calm and happy go lucky, they can help the insecure dog to relax and just be dog. Otherwise, still just let the dog be.
Don’t treat it like something “special” even though of course dogs are special!
Go for a long walk with the dog.
Give it rules. Just because it’s insecure, don’t be afraid of letting it know it’s place within the pack. That will actually help the dog!
Give food and water.
Repeat.
