There were no video games in the early 70's. There were no computers in the early 70's. So, when videos came into existence they sounded like Yes. Lol 😆 Rick Wakeman is the keyboard player. He is usually surround by 4 to 5 different keyboard instruments: the organ. The Moog synthesizer. The piano. Harpsichord. Mellotron.

This may be my favorite Yes album. I love each song on it. This is definitely a great pick.

Glad you enjoyed this one. They played it to open their shows for a long time. Always got the crowd energized to start things off. And how often do you get a harpsichord solo these days? 😅 You picked up on Rick Wakeman's (keyboards) classical background. He was the only member of this version of Yes with formal music training. Salud!

Another reactor described Yes as "Psychedelic Beach Boys", which is actually pretty good! 😄 And it's probably a good thing that English isn't your first language, because it's probably better if you don't even try to decipher the lyrics! If you like the harpsichord here, Rick Wakeman features it on the song "Madrigal" from the album Tormato (which also features Steve Howe on classical guitar.)

being older I don't understand any of the Video Game references. This has always been one of my favorite YES sings of all time. I don't but interesting that you heard Brazil influences. The end solo is channeling Wes Montgomery's style

You've done some real classic early Yes tunes. I'm not sure if you have done Perpetual Change. I would like to see your reaction to a rather jazzy guitar interlude in that one.

Yes Music is mostly described as Jaz fussion , But I think it's a little bit diverse . Good tracks to listen to are Sound Chaser Awaken Heart Of The Sunrise.

Never have I ever heard of Yes referred to as any type of Jazz. Never. Jazz isn’t this great! Lol

I’m so glad you like this, but it bothers me when reactors say they “sound like video games”. A. Most of their best music came BEFORE video games and 2. Really? YES IS THE BEST and no one sounds like them. Their sound is original and fresh. Video games are not exactly what was in mind when these pieces were written. So please you and all who do these comparisons- i ask you to think before you compare true music to 🤷‍♀️
