Love your videos and have helped me get a better understanding of things. Do I gain anything by getting the ASIAir type device with my DSLR and do I need a Guide Scope to get the most out of things or is the GTI going to be good enough. This will be my first go at Deep Space so just trying to see what would work best for my DSLR and 135mm Lens.

Hello, I bought the Apertura AD8 Dobsonian 8" telescope that you recommended in your beginner telescope video. I also recently bought a DSLR camera as well. I tried buying one of the connectors to put my DSLR through the eyepiece, but when I did, it would not focus, I would adjust the focus knob all the way in both directions, but it wouldn’t focus enough to see anything. I was contacting you to see if you can send me the name and possibly a link to the one you use to connect your DSLR to your Dobsonian. The camera is a Cannon Rebel T7 if that means anything. Thanks

I'd love to see the difference if you keep all the parameters the same but use a good light pollution filter for your shot. How much would the light pollution filter close the gap between the two skies?
Hello.I have a question.I have 114 mm reflector levenhuk telescope.Ifi buy skywatcher lunar and solar filter(solar for 114 mm).Can they be uselful for my telescope? Is it possible?Pls reply❤
As a kid, (with poor eyesight), mid 1960's,could clearly see the 7 (ALL 7) sisters, bold milkyway etc. Now I live in bortle 8-9. Your backyard is DARK.
What would be interesting would be to see how much integration time is needed in a bottle 6 zone to match a night's worth of data in a bottle 2 zone
It’s tough starting out as an astrophotographer living in Bortle 9 without any places with darker skies (Singapore)
The comparison makes sense, but it is obvious that under a polluted sky you use a filter eventually. It would have been better dark sky against polluted sky with something like l-pro filter
I live in a bortle 8-9 skys I cant see anything and I got no car to go to anywhere dark plus its been cloudy for 2 months
"no filter".. ok.. yes.. fair.. but how much is the difference with filters. Especially HSO filters.. I moved from a Bortle 4 to a Bortle 7.. I do miss it a little.. I can drive out to a Bortle 3 in about 2 hours, have yet to do that though.
Best astrophotographer 🤩
Hello Trevor, I was wondering why the amp glow from the 294c sensor wasn't visible on the 3min uncalibrated sub? Thanks and best wishes.
Love your videos and have helped me get a better understanding of things. I am going out to Utah in a few weeks and was thinking about getting an ASIAir or a model similar to use with my Canon 90D and my Star Adventure GTI that I just received. Do I gain anything by getting the ASIAir type device with my DSLR and do I need a Guide Scope to get the most out of things or is the GTI going to be good enough. This will be my first go at Deep Space so just trying to see what would work best for my DSLR and 135mm Lens.
Simply awesome 🙏🙏🙏
Oh NOW you tell me??? After I move from Utah to Knoxville? I so miss having Bortle 1-2 just an hour away. Now I can only go from 7 to like 4 if I go all the way up into GSM Natl Park. 😮💨
Go to the road to Lake Chilhowie above Knoxville.
@@MountainFisher Lake Chilhowee is below though. That's the same distance as going to Cades Cove.
@@joeguetzloff4465 Take 336 out of Maryville up to the Foothills Parkway that ends at Chilhowie. I think you take happy valley rd to get to it and it has two overlooks that may be the same distance, but I guarantee it won't be crowded.
Columbus Ohio in parts is a bottle 8 other parts of Columbus are worse. I found a place in a small town 20 minutes from here that's a bottle 5 and its awesome out there. If I ever get to a bottle 2 or 3 someday that will be awesome.
It seems in a lot of places in the western US light pollution is becoming more of a public concern.
Bro I just want a playlist of all your outro songs. They are all bangers. 😂😂
Cool comparison. I could try the Bortle 9 version ;) Why no EAF btw?
I live in Class 6 skies but I'm only about 2-2.5 hours drive away from Class 1 skies with 0 LP...none at all. Unfortunately, at the moment I don't have a car to get out there. But, I have been out there and I can tell you that the MW is that bright out there it can be a little harsh to look at. Looking at Venus, Jupiter or any star like Sirius, Canopus, Alpha, Rigel. etc, can actually be hard. It can ruin your night vision. But, when the Moon isn't up, it's inky black. You're flat out seeing your hand in front of your face. Not funny when you see a possum or some other critter staring at you in the dark and their eyes look like car headlights! Or, a cow creeps up behind you and moos😝
Thanks
Funny, how we have the same skies. I live at b6, my cabin is in b3.
i live in bortle 6, but thankfully I'm not too far from bortle 2 skies
My sky is bortle 5 and it is hard to photograph then northen targets though
That’s sad😢
I live in bortle 4
@@Reptileowner dang, your lucky
My sky is 19.26 magnitude, Bortle 6, when the Oil Refinery 1.5 miles from my house is not in operation.
And here I was complaining about light pollution. I think my city(less than 100 people over the trhreshold to be called a city) went from bortle 3 to bortle 4 since I was a kid, now I know that that is still considered "dark".
Fantastic video. What's the biggest scope you'd put on your AM3; something like a 102 refractor?
Hi Trevor. Another great video thanks! I’m curious about your choice of a 294MC here please. I have a RedCat 51 and always believed that a smaller pixel size was better suited to the focal length (183MC?). Was there a particular reason for the 294? Cheers, Paul
I have a class 4.. southern hemisphere
I wonder
Can you show some full frame shots and how much you crop to get there
Very interesting video. Both regarding the difference between light-polluted skies vs dark sites, but also showing how much über processing skills count.
I can see that my subs (Bortle 5) with just the same equipment on the same target is just as good as yours, but the final processed picture is nowhere near. 😵🤣
Didn’t see the tripod listed in equipment. Curious as to what it is as I’m looking for my am3 currently
Excellent video. How did you get from the raw 3 hour image to the final one? Just standard imaging software edits like exposure, saturation, highlights-mids-lows, etc?
My backyard is Bortle 3. I consider myself lucky.
Can I try to do this in late time when all is sleeping?
Great video! Would adding the Bortle 6 data to the Bortle 3 data make the stack worse or better?
Hello Can i do astrophotography from BORTLE 9. ?
