Truly beautiful. Never heard of these Wolf Rayat stars so thanks for the introduction. I too saw one of the Starlink Trains at Cherry Springs while shooting at the CS Vista on Sept 16th. The sky will never be the same. I'm so sorry for your loss...Zeke was beautiful.
Absolutely amazing Trevor. You inspired me to become an astrophotographer. It’s been 9 months since I have started my journey and I have 230 subs. I am so grateful I found your amazing channel. Keep capturing those stars! Clear skies.
I love the way you handled the colors. The blue feels more natural than the usual HOO cyanish hue. But what I really love is how the nebulae are bright and perfectly saturated. You did a good job. :)
So sorry for you loss, it's really tough when they cross the rainbow bridge. Fantastic tribute, beautiful image. I used the same music you had on the starlink train for a waterfall reveal (Deep Steep Canyon Waterfalls at 7:00)
Super cool image Trevor, and great video too! Thanks for sharing tips and tricks in pixinsight, and for sharing your editing setup for your image. Enjoyed the watch! 🌌
Another fantastic video Trevor! ...and LOVE the tips on processing!! Like you, I am also mixing the benefits of PixInsight together with those of Photoshop. My images have taken a definite turn for the better as a result; and, just judging from your fantastic capture of WR134, it appears yours may have too. Thanks for "sticking" with us (your subscribers) and continuing to deliver your wonderful videos and images.
Your should do more "at the computer" style videos... It is a blast to watch you and hear you explain steps to achieve stunning results, and you just keep the viewer on their toes when it comes to the result. Amazing video man, keep it up!
Sir, I think you're the only one who shot this dust cloud for the first time, Congratulations! Sorry for the huge loss, I can feel your pain, He was your family member, you will always cherish the unforgettable memories and moments.. 🙏 Rest in the peace Zeek❤️💐
Great work, very useful. I am 2 years in to this hobby using PS exclusively till this Summer. Now it is 50/50 with Pixinsight doing most of my preprocessing and the rest in PS. A steep learning curve. I would have loved to see the rest of your processing of your Wolf-Rayet in PS in this video. FYI, on a OSC ASI2600MC I have been using the Antalya RGB Triband Filter. It is almost a good as taking mono RGB with filters. Saves a lot of time,
Absolutely amazing as always, this hobby can be all about pushing ourselves to the limits! I also agree with the starlink stuff, I’ve seen about 3 Passovers at my house and it’s definitely a growing issue, maybe our image stacking programs will remove these in the future for us if they get really bad, but hopefully not for a while :)
Thank you for all your advice an content, you've been one of my main astronomy influences since starting this hobby, and you've been a wealth of information! My condolences for your loss! Rest in the Stars!
Stunning image, and a lovely tribute. Sorry for your loss. If you want to add another time-saver to your workflow; After Star Aligning, do a Star Removal, either with StarNet V2 (free), or RC Astro's StarXterminator (license), both available as plugins for Pixinsight, on the HOO and the RGB. Then open the starless HOO and the RGB stars as layers in Photoshop and blend them as you normally would.
I wanted to second this. I process similar to the above. I use a one shot color camera with an L-Extreme filter due to my light-polluted skies. So to get better stars I shoot a few hours with the L-Pro filter. After I align the images I will remove the stars using RC Astro's StarXterminator and then use pixel math to insert the RGB stars back into the image. Love your videos, thanks for keeping us motivated in this hobby.
Wonderful video as ever and thank you so much for the star alignment tips - so helpful and informative. Could you have just extracted the RGB stars with starexterminator and added them in as a star layer? Beautiful image and moving tribute. Clear skies to you and Zeek❤
Excited for this one bro. You snuck in another upload while I was occupied haha. I just started my 1 year anniversary image, collected 2hrs of Red last night on my very first target I ever imaged in October of last year. I’m hoping to finish with a minimum of 20hrs
As usual another amazing video. Three years ago during Covid I started watching your videos. Last September I started my finally started my journey. I found WR-134 just by watching your video. Stellarium wasn’t all that helpful. Got 3 hrs during a full moon and thin cloudy night. Man I can’t wait until the next clear night or next year when I’ll have more time. What ever comes first. Man you weren’t kidding. You only get a few nights maybe each month. Beautiful capture and thank you for what you bring to the community
sorry for your loss, and may zeek rest in peace. i have a question, why don't you screen blend the rgb stars onto a starless layer, instead of sacrificing the SNR of your narrowband with the empty RGB image?
Stoked 🤘🏼🤘🏼. your a true inspiration to us all Trevor. just about to get the final peace to my guide scope and camera with the asi air plus. saving for the AM5 now but that’s gonna take a couple months
MUL4 is the target Designation. I entered it into NINA 2 nights ago and it took me directly to it. I captured 5.5 hours on it 7/19-7/20/24. Used Paulman astro's Foraxx color palette on it in pixinsight. Great video Trevor!!! Clear skies!!!!!!
WR 134 is in most star catalogs, including Stellarium. Just just use the Hipparcos designation: HIP 99377. And so sorry to hear about Zeek. Our canine buds may be short lived, but we have the memories to cherish.
Yet another great video! What are your thoughts on the Chroma filters? I have some Antlia ALP-T filters coming for my new duo. It would be cool to see you put together a "filter war" video series. Sorry to hear about Zeek. Give Rudy a pat on the head for me.
Nice seeing you back on TH-cam. You have been missed here man. Just for a fun, have you ever tried to crank up the saturation on the rgb stars layer? I love doing it to see what star types they actually are. You can try doing it too and add it to your narrowband information. It would be fun to compare.
Trevor could actually give the guys at nasa some lessons in AP and processing! Phenomenal work. Also Im so sorry to hear about your dog! Its no different than losing a family member or loved one. Just know hes up there in the heavens with God now! He's at peace.
Yet another great video Trevor, thank you very much for posting. And sorry for your loss of Zeke. I’ll be facing the same dilemma likely in the coming weeks. A question for you. What filters do you use? They’re not listed in your equipment used list and there are many options out there. Thanks again. Cheers. Ps. What part of the province are you in? You mentioned Steve at the beginning and I think I know which Steve that is! lol.
Trevor. LOOOOOVED this video man. HUGE! eye opener for me, as I just started using Pix. Those tools are amazing. I'm going to start adding RGB stars in my images. This image is next level man. Amazing work as always, honestly. You're still one of the reasons I love to setup and capture. I'm so glad to see you shooting new things, and inspires me to do so as well. Well done my friend
I have a ?... u have used the filter wheel but u haven't that I've seen but don't remember seeing a tutorial about your filter wheel and types and sizes of filters used for astrophotography can u do one? Or share Intel. Thanx
Sorry for the loss of Zeek. Dogs are truly God's angels here in earth... Condolences. I guess pixinsight needs a starlink constellation removal tool developed.
Just wanted to say thank you for your videos of all Astro photography videos that I’ve seen yours have inspired me the most to purchase my first telescope for deep sky imaging. I still have many questions before I purchase, and I wish there was a way we could communicate one on one, so I can build my perfect set up. I have already committed to buying the red cat 61 but I am torn between the color or mono chrome cameras and the guide scope. I sure could use your help but thank you for your videos. I am truly truly impressed with your knowledge tutorials everything keep up the good work I’ll be watching for new videos.
I have the William Optics Mortar Tri pier with I optronics CEM45 Mount and wondered if the Mortar Tri pier could be used with the AM5 since the Starfield Tri pier you are using look a lot like the W/O Mortar Tri Pier.
Excellent image Trevor, I love this Target, you got a lot of details for 13hrs, Ive just done a colab on this target, 51 hrs of HOO, video going out in a couple of days! How did you get the difraction spikes in the image with your refractor? They definately add to the image! I was using my Esprit120 refrctor, my colab partner 'Astrobloke' was using an SCT. Great video mate. Clear skies!
I just found your channel. I’m super interested in Astro photography. Can you do another beginner series? I noticed your other beginner videos are about 3 years old.
Great Great image Trevor! Thanks for sharing a object that is right in front of us but would have never known. In Stellariem V1769 Cyg should get you pretty close. Thanks again.
Hey Trevor, I noticed you set up your tripod to straddle the crack between two slabs. Was this on purpose? I had been theorizing that each leg should (if possible) get it's own slab. My wife does say I over think things sometimes.
Excellent image! Apparently WR134 was one of the first emission line stars Charles Wolf and Georges Rayet found, in 1867. So technically, the designation refers to the star not the nebula, which I can’t imagine they could have seen, even with the 40cm telescope they used. But it doesn’t seem to have any other designation, like a Sharpless or Cederblad number. It’s not marked on the Millennium Star Atlas. Nor on the hugely detailed TriAtlas, as best I can tell, as it is so crowded. Anyway, great capture! Definitely an OIII filter object.
Oh, so very sorry about Zeek, Trevor. Guess we're all star bound eventually, though. Great capture and so, so interesting! Beautiful image as well. I'm pretty new to monochrome imaging and I've got a lot to learn, but I saw first-hand that the stars in narrowband leave a lot to be desired so I started capturing RGB stars. However, I haven't yet tried to integrate them back into the narrowband images. Is there a way to do this directly in PixInsight? Thanks so much as always for the great information and tutorial, Trevor!
I've adopted a similar technique the past few months, RGB stars over narrowband nebulae. Works great so far! I need to revisit this one for more OIII data, c'mon Hyperstar!
Hi Trevor, sorry for your loss! What's your impression on the starfield tri-pier? Is it really stable? I am thinking about putting am5 + relatively heavy/long OTA ~1000mm length on something. Currently use zwo carbon fiber tripod with a smaller scope, but I am afraid the long and heavy tube will need more
Cool. For the RGB star layer in PS you can just change the blend mode to color without changing opacity as a normal layer, then you get the color of the RGB stars mixed in with the smaller Ha star from the layer underneath!
So sorry for your loss! A great tribute to a good boy.
I am sorry for your loss, but what a beautiful tribute. Run free, Zeek!
Thank you :)

So glad to hear that, Adrian! Clear skies :)
I love the way you handled the colors. The blue feels more natural than the usual HOO cyanish hue. But what I really love is how the nebulae are bright and perfectly saturated. You did a good job. :)
Interestingly that "Cyanish hue" is the natural colour of Oiii emission.
@@TheScholesie09 I know, i'm just saying that it doesn't feel natural to me. Probably because I'm more used to making it bluer.
Great tribute to Zeek. RIP buddy!
ohhhhhhhh
u make me MAD at this 15:22 astro work.....

Great video as always... Hi Zeek 😞
Im waiting, can't wait for the new vid!
Great video! What was that star atlas that makes a brief appearance at the beginning. The one with the clear overlays on the images.
At 1:07 in the video, it's titled "WOLF RAYAT 134". Spelling error on Rayet? Or is this a sub class of a Wolf-Rayet star?
Fantastic job congratulations.
Godspeed Zeek.
Hi Trevor, sorry for your loss!
What's your impression on the starfield tri-pier? Is it really stable? I am thinking about putting am5 + relatively heavy/long OTA ~1000mm length on something.
