I love this channel. I don’t even own a telescope, but your passion for astronomy inspires me. When I have the resources it’s a hobby I intend to pursue. Thanks for letting me follow along on your big adventures. ❤
I couldn't have said it better myself. Lol! I'm exactly in the same boat. Once I have the money to buy one, that's it... I'm just gonna sit there and watch the sky, every single night!
Remember to start with visual for a year and maybe a binoculars on a tripod You can learn the sky first before getting a bigger scope. My first scope was a 10" dobsonian. Then upgrade the eye pieces as you can afford
@@knightclan4 my first was a 5” table top. It was amazing to look through at first. I thought there was dust on my mirror because of how many stars there were.
Bunny, please take care of the Biscuit. If he has anymore galactic meltdowns he may figure out the code to the matrix, superluminal time travel, or how to rule the Universe!
You should be on TV. Any production companies in London want a good rival to the BBC’s The Sky at Night but with a lot more madcapness plus Ricktenstein’s awesome soundtracks.... well just get in touch with Mr. Astro Biscuit here. Come on this is great content.
Astro B. (may I call you Astro B.?) I enjoy your content - great and entertaining. On your trips to las Palmas, I’m reminded of an older Astronomy tale (Sky and Telescope 1960’s) - turns out 3 or 4 Amateur astronomers, who were also mountain climbers, had the bright idea that on their attempt on Mt Aconcagua, they would take along a compact 6” telescope to enjoy the dark South American skies at high elevation 6000 meters or so and do enjoyable visual tests of how deep they could go by just looking. Big disappointment though, at altitude they could barely see 5th magnitude - turns out their retinas were oxygen starved at that altitude - so my suggestion to you is that on your next foray to the heights take along supplemental oxygen - and do some tests. I’d be fascinated to hear. Also you could take along the little device nurses put on your finget to read out oxygen saturation of your blood. You'd be the first!
Phenomenal, as ever... Motivating me to put away the Tak and bust out the RedCat once The Hunter truly arrives here for some nightly grabs... Thank you for what you are doing for the community, Breaker!
Your channel is very under rated. Person like you are the reason for giving meaning for TH-cam. I love wach and every content of you. Too muxh of hardworki. Love u from singapore
Another epic episode of astro biscuit. I'd love to see mr biscuit and bunny travel to the southern hemisphere and do LMC or Carina. BTW I liked the other thumbnail better.
Hola yo también soy astrofotografo y es un tremendo trabajo, muy entretenido todos tus videos siempre tienen suspenso saludos desde los mejores cielos del mundo chile.
Couldn't let this print sell out. Can't wait to have this framed on my wall where i edit my own photos. Unlimited motivation from one beautiful picture. Glad i was able to snag one!!
I just discovered this channel and i love it! It wicked funny and unique! Lol. I had no idea what a "floater" was... now I do. 😂Anyway, im not sure how much this has to do with anything but, I live in Western Massachusetts on top of a mountain and am extremely to not have a lot of light pollution. And just the other day I got to see the Arora Borealis and it was stunning! I seriously need a telescope 🔭 Also, those prints are gorgeous! Ima get one! Thank you ❤
Always feel inspired after a Biscuit video! Such original content with science, story telling, acting (even), floater jokes, astonishing images and all with modest equipment (albeit from an epically dark location). So much goes into these videos! I'm guessing the IR Cut filter was removed from the A7s.
8:18 NOT QUANTUM MECHANICS (coming from someone going into astrophysics and who loves quantum physics) Great video as always, I will 1,000% buy a print of that shot 😃
The videos on this channel only come as often as a “Ship of the Imagination” would pass a celestial object during a voyage across the universe. However when they do come by the quality is top notch. Also it means that Rory has something significant to say and/or do. Something that most of us might try and emulate. Showing us a high standard of results that are attainable. ( only wish that the concept of any spare time that I might have to get my finger out and do some of this isn’t solely a figment of the imagination )
Thanks for the motivation I found in your videos, i finally bought me a small refractor to see the planets. I was so amazed with saturn and jupiter that I decided to upgrade to an AD8 reflector. I am very pleased to add amature astronomy as one of my hobbies. I don't think i will pursue astrophotography though, i got burned out on photography in early 2000's all the photo editing in front of a PC got old. I like going outside and visual observing fills the bill for me. 😁
I bought my first 8” dobs a couple of weeks ago. Your videos are amazing and they rekindled my childhood interest, thank you! I don’t know much about deep sky stuff but I think NASA might need to replicate your observations 😂
As a fellow new dob owner, I just want to drop a huge bro-tip that improved my life by simplifying collimation. Check out cloudynights forum threads for the ”milk cap hack”. Basically a bit of plastic befind the screws of the secondary mirror that makes collimation way easier by making the mirror move more smoothly when turning the screws.
You've got hte most EPIC music background on the whole Internet. Astrobiscuit means both epic host and his knowledge/attepmts/adventures/challenges/etc. and these epic tunes that make everything so dramatically better. What a godly channel it is! P.S. A brainwave: Why don't you make short music clips to conquer the net?
beginning people should get a wide field APO Refractor. (easiest to use , less the adjust, and more forgiving with tracking) Get a mount that is rated at 2x the weight of your equipment with a total RMS less than your pixel scale (at a minimum). Spend the most you can afford on the mount itself, or you will have to buy another one when you progress to larger scopes.
I wish the prints were in not such limited numbers because I really would like to have one but by the time I checked your site they were all gone. You do an amazing job
this is a somewhat underestimated section of astrophotography . . . so I'm looking foreward to seeing this altho I'm not sure if this "bogeyman nebula" is that big . . I'd think it's one of the smaller ones, especialy in comparison to the enormous Barnard's Loop emission nebula next to it
Man - I am buying a 114/900 Mirror for 40 bucks "because its cheap" and thinking of printing and building "Hadley" - A 3D Printed Telescope around that mirror. I deem it to expensive for "just toying around" and BOOM - an Astrobiscuit-Video drops that completely inspires me to throw all my money at the wall for Astro-Gear... :-(
Hey Astrobiscuit :-) I used my manfrotto fluid video head once for macro photography, but it didnt work well since the fluid head have tiny tiny movement. Love your channel :-)
1:46 meanwhile me in the netherlands. I mean, the darkest spot I can go to is the ocean, and even there I can't even see andromeda with a small pair of binoculairs, let alone the naked eye.
Even in dark skies, visual observing can be disappointing , mostly fuzzy blobs, no colour. If you take pictures you can get really nice images even under quite bad light pollution.
Sorry, but you can see Andromeda with small binoculars from within the city. Even in Rotterdam/Den Haag. Light pollution sucks here, that we can agree on.
Is the Sony camera astromodded? How did you align the mosaic frames? Any guiding or dithering? Quite frankly i cannot believe you got that result (with the Ha nebulosity) from a junk skywatcher mount and unmodded undithered unguided setup.
Will you do more prints of your older shots? You did an amazing Galaxy one many months ago and it blew my mind. I'd love to have a picture of it. I love your videos so much. I want to get a telescope again but probably just for looking at the moon. I sold or gave away my filters and eye pieces and just let someone take the telescope away. I didn't have a motorized mount so I figured it would be like 5000 bucks to get anything else in focus. I would fiddle with the dials to get a shakey mars. Anyways, love your videos.
Been sunny all day. I watch a Biscuit video, I get inspired ... then it clouds over at sunset. Welcome to astrophotography.
so relatable
The music is, as always, just perfect. Riktenstein rocks.

soo true, like when he postes even if i lost my arms and legs it will still be a good day :)

Thanks for your work, AB. Keep it up.

So great to have the Richard Hammond of astronomy back on form again. Thanks for a top video!
The resemblance is so uncanny.

I always like the drama in these videos. Just when things seem to be going smooth, disaster strikes! haha.

This dude is killing it everytime doing the impossible with amateur setups.
Having a biscuit with my tea this morning…
