Thanks buddy, you'll love the Rustler 4x4 it has pretty much replaced my go to basher which was my traxxas slash. The Rustler 4x4 just handles so much better and is also a lot more capable offroad
2wd stadium truck was my 1st basher. A kit team associated RC10T sport. We slowly modified & desert bashing with friends. Reminds me of those days....I really should get 2wd Rustler for myself 👍🏽 great video dude!

Exactly the video comparison I was looking for. Your comments as well as other comments really helped me make a decision. Going for a 2wd VXL/TSM as I want to learn to drive the car and not have the car drive for me like the four-wheel-drive. Also, the difference in price is a factor as well as more parts to break on the 4WD. Thank you so much for the video and I have subscribed.

Hey great bash session 👍. I enjoy my Rustler 4x4 also. Handled some very rough stuff the other day. Shock cap popping off was only breakage.
Thanks buddy, the rustler 4x4 is rugged, I always say it's like a mini xmaxx it just could take a beating and keep on going. I had the same issue on mine I picked up some cheap aluminum shocks on ebay and they have been holding up great so far

Right on man that's not a bad idea, mine are just some unbranded big bore shocks I found on ebay, they have been great so far though
@@NitroStarGT I had the same problem on my 2wd rustler, my local shop had some aluminum caps and they work perfect, haven't popped off once :) cost like $10 or something, traxxas brand.
I suggest going up a screw on both rear arms of the 4x4 and adjust camber it won't affect handling but it'll have more character when drivin
Right on man I just might try that out on my next run, I really like the way it handles right out of the box with its low center of gravity but I'm always looking for new ways to improve my RCs for a little advantage over the competition
The 2wd model's feel like they have more power because of all the power going to only 2 wheels and so much lighter especially in the front end. Very challenging but fun for the experienced driver 👍
They will have a little more power there lighter and have less driveline loss do to not turning the extra wheels but that being said the 2wd modules dont put the power to the ground nearly as well, though they may have more power on paper the 2wd module wont out accelerate a 4wd truck

They do have weighted front bumpers as well to keep it from coming up so much..My rustler after upgrades does about 70mph now at first wheelie machine..I added wheelie bar and then weighted front bumper totally different truck now...If you don't wanna spend the cash on the bumper harbor freight has stick magnets for like a dollar you can mount on the front same effect..

Id recommend the 4x4 all the way bud, it handles way better then the 2wd
4x4 is easier to drive but 2wd requires less maintenance and is really fun when you learn to control it. Both are completely different and really fun!

Can you use the 4wd tire set on the rustler 2wd car? What will be effet on the 2wd....? Bad choice or good choice? Does those 4wd tire will change control direction of the 2wd car?
That's a good question bud, they should go on the 2wd without a problem looking at the two the offset looks about the same

I prefer the 4x4 it handles so much better then the 2wd in my opinion

I defanatly prefer the 4x4 you just can beat the handling and putting the power down to the ground with all four wheels plus the backflips are a huge bonus

If you're just coming into the hobby for the first time ever, I suggest getting the XL-5. If you have some experience and can handle the higher power of a brushless system, then I recommend getting the VXL model. Or, if you really like getting hands on with an RC, maybe consider the Nitro Rustler! It all depends on your level of skill.

if you are looking to save some money the 2wd but the 4wd is much easier to drive and doesn't get stuck in places
I have 0 knowledge about rc cars. I want to get one to have some fun with my dogs. I need something that can maintain fast speed in grass or dirt and that can take a beating from the dogs. What would you recommend for a 100-200 budget.
Right on bud everyone has to start somewhere, I think you'll definitely enjoy this hobby. I do the same thing with my dogs they love it and sure sleep good after. Well as long as the grass isn't to long a brushless rustler preferably a 4x4 should be perfact for somthing like that there alittle out of the price range though but you could always look for a used one

Traxxas should update the chassis pan to allow for the battery to be moved up an inch or so. This would really help out with handling! It would benefit the Bandit to.

@@fullthrottleobsessions Yeah it's something that Traxxas really should do and should've been done when the 2WD Slash came out. I actually have the 2WD HCG Slash and with some simple suspension tuning (stiffer front springs plus 35 weight oil in back and 25 weight up front) the Slash actually corners much better then my Bandit does lol. The Slash feels very balanced and neutral. The Bandit on the other hand needed softer springs up front ( with 15 weight oil up front, 25 in rear) and allot of additional weight up front to corner and feel somewhat like the Slash. That's just wrong on so many levels lol. A HCG truck shouldn't have a handling edge over a buggy.

@@dylanbrookbank1935 Yeah but the better way to do it would be to have an adjustable battery tray like the Slash 2wd has. Adding weight is a band aid for something that should've been updated 15 years ago when Traxxas updated the Bandit Rustler and Stampede to have way more power then what the old Stinger motor had.
Just talked to Traxxas yesterday and they said that they are coming out with updated chassis for rustler, bandit, and stampede that have longer battery trays. I’ll be keeping my eyes open.
If you need a rear shock tower for the 2wd I have a strc aluminum one you can have.

Aluminum is the way to go i had an old school rustler back in the day the plastic defiantly seemed a little better (thicker) then the newer ones nowadays
An STRC ? barf they are good alum quality but i hate the 2 piece mount keeps coming loose time to try some super glue :D Good luck on the RC ventures

4wd all the way bud you just have more control on take off and in turns it puts the power down nicely plus you can't beat the backflips you can pull off with the 4wd aswell
I wouldn't think 4wd is much of an advantage with that kind of power as most of the weight is transferred to the rear during acceleration.
I could tell you first hand bud it really makes a world of difference, just for an example is the steering the 4wd steering is much more responsive with the front wheels turning and not just being pushed buy the rear wheels like a 2wd truck

It depends on the person I guess, with me I definitely prefer the 4wd I feel I have more control with it over the 2wd plus the backflips you can pull off with the 4x4 is a added plus for me

I’ve had my 2wd for about 6 years and always have a blast every time I drive it. It’s also a durable and easy to work on car.
