From a retired Plant Operator, get in the habit of ALWAYS lowering all impliments to the ground when you get off the tractor and if you are actually parking it, release the hydraulic pressure in all circuits after shutting down the engine.
It means that your seals are not remaining loaded between uses.
Its not going to matter if you leave the system pressurized once, twice... or even more but if its done for years it will shorten the life of the seals.
Lowering impliments when you get off is a safety issue.

@@ionlythoughtit2890 If they already have a large patio/covered porch area, I could see that. Cats would scratch up screen-like material, but he could easily use hardware cloth to allow Lil to be outside without the outside dangers. As a city person, I always thought it would need to be chicken wire, but after Morgan's demonstration of how flexible chicken wire is, I've become a firm believer in the usefulness of hardware cloth. There are DIY suggestions using hardware cloth all over the internet, too.

Awesome tractor! I think you should get some goats to help reclaim your pasture. They will eat brush and small trees as well as the over grown grasses. That will free you up for other things. Then you can get in there an clear out the unwanted trees etc. You can sometimes rent goats if you don't want to buy them. Any breed of goat would do but with all the predators around I would get large goats with horns. Don't get them until spring and all you need to provide is an electric fence and water for them to drink. Once they have cleared one area move the fence to another area. Goats are amazing animals.

It was a good move to go new vs old. I am in NH and have rebuilt several old tractors for my small farm. My one bit of advice would be either load the rear tires or get chains before you try to do too much snow removal. You don't want to deal with getting your snow removal tractor suck and even with 4wd it will likely happen without chains or atleast loaded rear tires. To be honest that newer tread pattern scares me with respect to snow and ice so I would probably start with chains. You probably only need them on the rear tires. That said loaded rears are always helpful with a loader.
But I would really like a nice new tractor as appose to my antiques that require I be a mechanic as well as a farmer.

Morgan, congrats on your tractor. My grandfather's farm, settled in 1811, used horse power for raising crops until the end of WWII. Then Grandaddy got a red International Harvester. He made a wooden platform for behind his seat so his grandaughters could ride along going up to Uncle Probe's farm. Around age 88 Grandaddy's daughters decided it was time for him to stop driving. His car went to my uncle's farm for repair and never came back. In about 1971 my sister and I went to the farm to visit. No grandma and grandaddy. It was ladies aid quilting afternoon. We called around and found them. Grandma had got on the wooden platform and off they went to ladies aid!

Well Mr Gold, I think it’s great you got a new tractor but I think you’ll wish you had gotten an enclosed cabin for it, heat in winter when you are out plowing snow and A/C in summer when it’s blazing hot outside.
The other thing, got my 2-T-Shirts having to do with Releasing the Quackens and All Ducks go to Bed in blue and orange; and two hoody’s in blue and orange. Your the first You Tuber I’m following to buy their clothing line.

Even just adding a removable clear plastic cab will help with your snow plowing. It keeps the wind off you and the snow out of your eyes while you're plowing. Very nice tractor. Love the orange of the Kuboto.

Yeah, it’s feeling more like December over here in Minnesota LOL. Also, right as you were about to say, Release the Quackin! One of the geese that was already outside was honkin right with you. Probably calling the quackin out as well. You should figure out which one that was lol. I wonder what the rest of the flock thinks of the parks and wreck gang. Like why are you four geese hanging with ducks? You're supposed to be with us lol. I do notice that the geese that hang with the ducks try to quack, they sound slightly different.

Toby is a special type of working dog with a special type of fur coat and fur undercoat. I think Morgan only washes Toby during the summer and brushes him when he sheds or needs the extra help. Personally, I would think it would comfort the geese if Toby's smell changed very little--he may even smell a bit "duck/geese-ish". Not sure how well predators smell Toby's body scent versus his "marking" his territory scent which would be much stronger smelling. Plus, Toby has a nice deep "big dog" bark that he uses liberally to claim his farm territory. Most land predators will avoid a dog's territory unless they're really hungry and can visually see prey. That said, it doesn't work as well with small dogs and I've heard of people buying the dung of large predators like lions to keep large dogs off their lawns when they've had issues with neighborhood dogs. It'll be interesting when Morgan gets his new puppy (to do farm duty with Toby).
