Anyone with undergraduate understanding of media or sociology would know that prageru and breitbart are full of shit, the root cause of the spread of fake news is sadly a lack of education, a lot of right wing talking points can be debunked by high school understanding of history and philosophy/critical thinking, these should be mandatory in high school IMO, at the very least so people can critically engage with sources. I would hope any intelligent right leaning person would agree it is important for people to be able to question the motives and narratives of media sources, nobody with integrity should want their side's arguments to be built off falsehoods

Our listeners have been asking: Is it true that cars are being handed out at the Red Square?

@@BigMacsm245 Actually those Radio Eriwan jokes (as they are called in germany) are one of the few cultural things that the whole soviet block shared. If I recall correctly they started with the soviet "Sputnik" magazine, that was published in all the important east european languages and even in the "imperialistic west". The jokes were intended to garner more interest from soviet citizens and sympathies from the west by showing that the socialist countries could joke about themselves. This way the jokes even made it to west germany (and other places, I'm sure.). Radio Eriwan is meant to be the radio of the armenian soviet capital Yerevan, btw.
      My favorite ones are:
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it possible to be a good communist and a good christian at the same time?
In principle yes, but why would one want to make his live twice as hard?
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it possible to introduce communism into a highly industrialized society/switzerland?
In principle yes, but it would be a pity about the industry/switzerland.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Can you drive 120 k/mh with a russian car on russian roads?
In principle yes, but only once.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Why did they establish a Ministry of Navy in landlocked Armenia. Do you have a sea?
To spite Azerbaijan. They established a Ministry of Culture.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that the USA will turn communist?
In principle yes, but I'm not sure if the GDR can feed two super powers.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Could the dear lord become a party member?
In principle yes, but first he would have to rescind his church membership.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Can one introduce "socialism in one country" effectively?
In principle yes, but one should reside in a different country.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that lice could start a revolution too?
In principle yes, for in them flows the blood of the proletariat.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that the soviet intervention in prague was following a call for help from the czecheslovakian government?
In principle yes, the call for help from 1938 could be sucessfully answered in 1968.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that capitalism is standing on the edge of the abyss?
In principle yes, but we are a step ahead.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that every american has a car?
In principle yes, but each of us has a parking space.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that a stereo radio is superfluous in the soviet union?
In principle yes, you're hearing the same stuff from every side anyways.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Is it true that comrade Stalin collects jokes about him?
In principle yes, but first he collects the people telling them.
Question to Radio Eriwan: What is chaos?
Questions about the agriculture will not be answered.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Can men bear children?
In principle no, but ask the GDR, they'd to anything for foreign currencies.
Question to Radio Eriwan: Can a trabant (the german socialist car of questionable quality) reach 200 k/mh?
In principle yes, it depends on the height from which it is falling.
I... might have overdone it with the jokes. Well now they are here.

@@ke_ag I know I am not the OP. But for me it started, when I was deep in my depression. I randomly encountered a TH-cam channel, that was hating on feminists, which were far left. I also got onto some channels hating on trans people. At the beginning it seemed pretty weird to me and I was sceptical at the start, but the more often I heard it I sooner or later started to be believe it. I started believing transpeople had a disorder, I bought into the propaganda of people, who hate on black and moslems. The thing that got me out of it, was one of my best friends coming out as trans, me having been an atheist since I was 6 or 7, which helped me see some points that seemed irrational, asking my self, if there is other stuff, that isn’t totally logical. Another huge factor was my ex breaking up with me, which made me wanna exercise and working on my nutrition. After looking better I actually started dating a feminist, which didn’t go well, because I still had the emotional part in the way ingrained from all the years. Even though I knew it was wrong to hate on transpeople, it was something I needed to get emotionally over as well. My discord nowadays, is interestingly enough filled with many people, who around me came out as gay. It still took me like almost another year to really get under people again, but here I am 1 month after that year and I am pretty happy feeling. I am not hating people for no reason except the one that the bubble I was in said they were bad anymore. Only thing lately keeping me down is me having corona symptoms, even the test says negative.

As one who actually live in Sweden, in Malmö on top of this which is supposed to be one of the worst places I can say with confidence that quite opposite to what right wingers want to make Sweden out to be we are a prime example of how a western nation can accept massively more immigrants than most do without anything catastrophic happening. The reason Sweden had to put a limit on intake in 2016 was because we can't build the infrastructure quickly enough to keep up; Sweden is a sparsely populated country with cold winters meaning there's a need for effective public transportation and well made housing for everyone, and such things take time to build.
As you point out, the "Rape Epidemic" just isn't there, nor is any "skyrocketing" of crime. Looking at the ultimate crime, murder we notice something interesting. I live in Malmö as stated. This, the most crime ridden city of Sweden there is about 2 murders for 100,000 residents yearly. This is lower than the 5 per 100k the US have _nationwide_ including places like Alaska or rural Wisconsin. Looking at bad places in the US, counterparts to Malmö such as Detroit there are murder rates of 30-60 per 100k, that is 15-30 time worse.
Reality is, Sweden have lately, and historically accepted very large numbers of refugees in regards to the relatively small population. When I was young and spent my time in more physical confrontations with Nazis back in the early ninties it was the same thing, massive amounts of refugees coming here from former Yugoslavia which would absolutely destroy Sweden - today the toddlers who came here back then or kids of young parents who fled here is part of the crowd being outraged about all the Syrians, rehashing all the same arguments which were made about their people back then. It's been people from Iraq during the Iraq conflicts, it's been people from Iran. Back in the 60:ies and 70:ies we were less concerned with color, back then it was mostly the Finns coming here from poor conditions in Finland which were a huge problem; but also people from parts of Europe which were much worse off back then - Italy, Franco's Spain and Greece for example evident by the plethora of racist jokes about Greeks, Italians and Spaniards in existence. Still, throughout all of this, Sweden still is an extremely safe place to be in and the living conditions are as most people know, among the absolute top of the world, and thinking of it it's really not that strange since we've never had any problems with negative population distributions (fewer and fewer young people to provide for more old ones, such as many other European nations have), an influx of well educated people in prime working age and, to be a bit cynical, readily available workers for all the jobs most native swedes are unwilling to perform.
Sorry for the text wall, and cheers for the great video!

My grandfather was a "war child" sent to Sweden.
"During World War II some 70,000 Finnish children (Finnish: sotalapset, the 'war children' Swedish: krigsbarn) were evacuated from Finland, chiefly to Sweden, but also to Norway and Denmark. Most were evacuated during the Continuation War (1941-1944) to ease the situation for their parents who set out to rebuild their homes in the re-conquered Karelia returning from the 1940 evacuation of Finnish Karelia. The first surge of evacuees arrived, however, during the Winter War when the Finns had reasons to fear a humanitarian catastrophe following the expected Soviet occupation." (Wikipedia)
While he was there, my grandmother was living in the town I grew up in, in Southern Finland, and she and her sister had to run and hide in bomb shelters when the Soviets came.
This movie is about that time, I highly recommend if someone wants to see a different perspective on war:
"Mother of Mine (Finnish: Äideistä parhain, Swedish: Den bästa av mödrar) is a 2005 Finnish-Swedish film directed by Klaus Härö about a Finnish war child who is sent by his mother to live in Sweden during World War II."
I think that having this in our not-so-distant history makes us look at war and immigration differently. Americans often think they have it all figured out but sometimes it feels like they forget to be thankful for not having war on their ground, in their homes. And when they forget to be thankful, they forget to really understand, to understand the individual and often completely unfair suffering, the desperation and fear and how everything just completely sucks in general. When I was around 12 years old we had to interview someone who experienced the war, I think it was a valuable lesson for everyone. Soon none of those people will be left here, and we are left to see if we need to refresh our memory by action, or by just remembering not to forget.

They're not addicted to outrage. It's so much more core than that. They're addicted to seeing themselves as purely logical and intelligent, and therefore believing their own justifications for how they feel. They've labeled emotions as feminine, feminine as weak and evil, and therefore recognizing their own emotional reactions would mean admitting that they're weak and evil. So they position their emotional reactions as supremely logical and intelligent (in other words, masculine and good). In no scenario can they ever admit that they have a strong emotion that guides their actions and views. The stronger their emotion, the more they need to justify it as logical.
Their fear of the other is as strong and as constant as the flow of a river.
Notice how they talk about "rape apologists" when talking about sexual assault involving non-Europeans (note that they do not look at "immigrant" rape involving European immigration), but then talk about how murdering "incels" are "driven" to murdering women by feminists? That the only phrase only one of them even bothers to differentiate the acts with is "gang rape?" Because they're speaking to each other, and they understand implicitly that they have a right to "their" women's bodies, but outsider men have no rights at all. The whole of their rhetoric has one aim: to exalt their community's domination of and cruelty to others as at least justifiable and at most (and more often) beneficial, and denigrate any policy or idea that empowers their victims, who is everyone they see as "other."
Difference scares them, because they need to use their emotions and empathy to interact with people different than themselves and they suck at that. Women, with our culture of incorporating emotional and qualitative information into logical decisions, something they cannot do, scare them. They're scared of the fact that they're scared, and can't bear to see anyone else handle their feelings more capably. They're frightened little boys who have made a culture where the boy who beats everyone else down wins, terrified that one day the "others" they've persecuted will gain power and return the favor. Or worse, that those people will gain power and treat them _better_ than they've treated everyone else, and make them and their entire culture look evil. Since they can't handle emotion, they absolutely can't handle guilt or shame. They certainly can't face the fact that their position of being able to bully others- which they see as superiority- means that outsiders _have_ to be tougher than they are just to survive, that they are in fact weaker in all the ways that they care about (physical and emotional endurance, intelligence to think their way out of difficult situations, ability to survive harsh conditions, etc.). So they externalize their fear, guilt, shame, and insecurity in the form of rage.
A process that gets blocked whenever facts show their rage to be illogical or unnecessary. They can't handle the truth, which is that the privilege they were born to, that they love so much, comes with moral and ethical inferiority, as well as a life of so much more ease that it means outsiders are tougher in all the ways that count to them.
Mind, I say this as an American, so I count myself as someone in a privileged, morally inferior position who wouldn't survive one day in Aleppo. I'm not saying that the position makes someone a bad person. I'm not even saying people are obligated to do anything personally about their privilege. We all do what we can handle, which for most of us is looking after our friends and family. But trying to pretend that being so weak that you _need_ to let small children face death in myriad forms (from poison gas and bombs to drowning and starving) rather than tolerate your fear of them is actually strength, well, that's the kind of self-delusion that leads to tragedy.

As a philosophy major, I know there’s definitely some clean up that needs to be happening in formal academia with regard to philosophy, but to see these fucking morons try to claim they have some kind of monopoly over it? Watching their conversations and arguments, it’s like watching a 9 year olds idea of what any of what they’re attempting to talk about is. The most offensive part is not only how completely and utterly wrong all of them are, but it’s how they try to morph it into a weapon to hit other people with. They don’t own the discipline of philosophy or formal logic. And they certainly have zero respect for it.

Tbh, I think once anyone starts citing Breitbart, that person has a duty to research the story at a deeper level. Once it becomes your primary news source, I think it's too late for them.
Same goes for a lot of media in general. It's the core issue. These people still trust the media too much. They read a story, (posted on multiple sites), and report on it. Now, this wouldn't usually be a problem if the standard of journalism hasn't nose dived in the last 10 years. I mean, it's a pretty sad that a story posted on various credible newspapers is incorrect.

Swedens cosent laws are what makes our definition of rape so broad. It’s a very good thing because it makes sure that unless you actually want to have sex it’s considered rape. In Swedish law you can’t claim it wasn’t rape because the other person didn’t say no. It counts as rape unless you get an agreement to sex. It protects people.

You know, on these websites, I always find it rather sad when some people in the US and UK seem to know better how I am doing and what is happening to me than myself, who is actually living in Germany. Each time I comment noting that is just not the case, I get answers ranging from accusations of trolling and lying to telling me that I supposedly just happen to live in the one part of Germany where all is well, and that everywhere else in Germany is supposedly a hellhole. Of course they tell me that without knowing where in Germany I actually live.

I remember The Express also reported something like "a Muslim Immigrant in Germany brutally murdered a random small girl in a Subway Station" years ago. But if you go read any German newspaper, the actual story would be a Muslim Immigrant in Germany Brutally Murdered his own daughter in public due to a domestic dispute with his wife. Now, both versions are equally horrific indeed, but the later real version is an unfortunate tragedy that could, unfortunately, happens in any country by any race/religion/ethnicity. And the Express version is making it sounds like some "natural violence tendency" that most Muslim Immigrants somehow had.
And due to the fact that this is a case of violence lead by domestic dispute rather than some terrorist attack, most newsmedia outside of Germany did not report it. Which created a perfect situation for newsmedia like The Express to take the real picture and the story, and changed the words to make their half fake news.

I remember how he and his lackeys selectively edited footage, leading to an entire organization - which just so happened to benefit low- and middle-income black families - being defunded and eventually ceasing to exist as well as getting a woman fired for comments taken wholly out of context. People fell for it, without a second thought, yet both cases were proven to be fraudulent...and so many keep fucking doing it despite such unreliability. It's infuriating. *Especially* when it isn't that hard to verify whether a story is bullshit or not with the goddamn internet. It shows how lazy, intellectually and otherwise, these fans of Breitbart News are.

This video is timeless. A family member of mine just started getting a physical delivery paper of "The Epoch Times" which is arguably much worse than Breitbart in the ways described in this video even. It is truly exhausting to continually debunk the articles he cites from them and that despite having debunked dozens of them (it's usually fairly easy with their digital version since the sources they cite behind links tend to just be other articles on their site with no sources or links to things that have nothing to do with what they are talking about) he still trusts them more than me or more than any other news source. Why? Because the apocalyptic vision of America they paint fits in with both his religion's "end times war of the righteous" narrative and the fears of change, immigrants, minorities, liberals, and sexually liberated women that have been quietly (and now loudly) stoked by Fox News and talk radio for the past 40 years.
I also appreciate the tone you take and while swearing doesn't offend me, it does offend the people I am trying to reach so being able to link one of your videos to them is huge.

"I don't care, this is meant to be entertainment, not being factually correct"..... Did he just give the game away?

No, if he said "This is meant to be racist propaganda to indoctrinated idiots" then he would be giving the game away.

I love how you so calmly dismantle and destroy really emotionally charged arguments and claims like Stockholm, Sweden being the "rape capital of Europe". The way you remain zen even when these claims are so outrageously and obviously bullshit is something I aspire.

I'm so glad someone like you is fact checking all these outrage mongers. They claim to be anti-snowflake but they sure do behave like snowflakes without any evidence for their irrational fears and prejudice

i might just be tipsy but "i mean... we can hardly expect him to keep pace with an intellectual powerhouse like sargon of akkad" almost made me cry with laughter. iconic line.

I just sigh very hard when someone cites a claim with Breitbart, Daily Express, or the Mail. Worst of all if they cite Sargon or BPS.
Usually it ends up as another outlet for their outrage as they're told, firmly, to get a reputable source or their claim is invalid.
    The alt-fact tears are delicious.

TL;DR really needs to work on his defensive game. "Clearly, I was just kidding." "This isn't meant to be factual, it's just entertainment". He can never be wrong, it's everyone else correcting him who's wrong for "not getting it".

36:15 still gets me heated. I can't imagine putting my life on the line, bravely fighting ISIS, losing everything for it...then getting labeled as ISIS. I'm furious on his behalf.

I was a journalist for, admittedly, a very small newspaper in rural Wisconsin. But even I, in such an inauspicious role, would have double-guessed such an obviously biased headline. These people clearly just get hard at any possibility of their disgusting viewpoints being right and jump on them immediately because they wholly believe that there's no way they could be wrong.
It's really no wonder they're so upset about the state of the world when they've already made up their minds like this.

Black pigeon speaks... though his name is unwieldy, it’s certainly accurate. He’s a birdbrained little shit who shits on things, because that’s the extent of his ability to engage in self reflection.
