The first fish & the fish you catch at 19:00 in are both cutthroat trout. Tennessee started stocking those past couple years. They get big too! Good stuff!
Man John, this may be your best video production and footage wise to date! This one makes me want to get in my car and head to TN to fish those spots! Amazing to see all those fish from above! No doubt God created this earth. Have a blessed new year!
What is the best time to fish in New England or is there any chance you can catch a fish when you’re at any region of the United States what type of fish do you get in the winter for Tennessee keep on making amazing fishing videos you’re the greatest fishing content creator ever for TH-cam
Thanks for the drone footage and for sharing a great scripture. Appreciate your witness and fishing video. This seems like a fun spot to fish. If you are ever in Springfield, MO area look me up.
Beautiful footage all the way through. Picked up my day. Man, that area is awesome looking. Underwater Footage was great too. What a great video for Winter. Thanks, John, just what I needed.
Fun adventure! Nice to be catching that many fish in the winter. That rod and reel you found was an Zebco 33 Rhino. If you ever find one again, send me the reel! I repair rods/reels all the time and I've done at least a dozen zebco's.
Yes, you definitely caught a cutthroat. The drone shots were amazing. You have some incredible water down there! Drives me crazy that you never seem to remember a net.
Great video John! What a change… from the Everglades to trout fishing in a river. I don’t know where on the Hiawassee this was, but it sure looked like a neat place. Happy 2024 and God Bless!
I know exactly where you were because I’ve done some work at that TVA installation. I’ve tried to tell my husband how beautiful it is there. I’m tickled to pieces to see this video!!! When I was there working, fellas were fly fishing. The wanted was just sparkling. It’s a lovely place.
Hey John, just wanted to say thank you for sharing your fishing experiences with us. I know you do it for your job but you are genuine with your content. Your footage and creativity keeps getting better every year. Keep up the good work.
Wonderful footage. Such a scenic place, no wonder there's trout. I use a small set of fish grips to hold trout still while unhooking them. Another tip is to hold the slippery rascals belly up to paralyze them. Usually works.
Beautiful river . I love the drone footage and the underwater footage . Your videos are always entertaining to watch . I get excited when I get a notification of a new video. Happy New Year John !
Lucky for you that the road is on the north side of the river so you got more of the sun than over there at the powerhouse. That wind can funnel up through there and durn near freeze you to death this time of year. Great video and great drone footage. Tight lines sir.
I've recently found your channel. I haven't fished in many years but you've got me itching to get out there. Love your show and your drone footage. Just like being right beside you! Thanks!
Nice video John especially the aireal footage see you at your next adventure the river fishing here in Southern California not as cold as where your at be safe.
Hard to believe you were floating down that same stretch of water up by the power house on a " SECRET WEAPON ", blue inflatable tube from Walmart at one time, John!! Awesome drone stuff as always.. Fish on! :-)
That was definitely a good day up there. You ever go on up the tracks and drop off in the “dries” as it’s called? There’s some nice smallmouth in those pools
That was awesome!!! As my channel name implies, I love trout fishing and your video was amazing, they may have been small but they were all beautiful and I bet they were a lot of fun to catch!!! Hope you can catch that one that got away and God Bless!
Wow John, I really enjoyed this video. The work you put into the footage is rewarding to us as viewers. Thanks for another great watch! God bless you brother, I hope you had a great Christmas. In Christ, Micah
Dang! I was fishing on the same river (GA side) the same day! I always fish for trout with 10lb braid on my reel with a 4lb leader. Braid makes the whole setup more sensitive to bites.
Great drone footage & underwater footage, that river was loaded, from the drone you could really see them, thank you for an adventurous year of fishing, hope 2024 will be even better! God bless you & keep you!
I was just watching another fishing TH-camr the other day trout fishing in Gatlingburg. He made a point to emphasize not handling trout without wetting your hands first. I don’t live near trout so, genuine question… is there anything to that?
Yes your dry hands can remove slime on any fish, slime is like a protection for from fish diseases. trout seem more sensitive to it than most other fish. It’s best to wet your hands if possible when handling them.
Amen!!! Seek God first!!! Give him praise in Everything!!! You worked those fish over pretty good. 👍 Man those Yellow Perch make excellent table fare. I've been seeing these heated vest. That maybe be something to look into. Stay safe and have a Blessed Day!!!
He definitely did not land any brown trout. One appeared to be a brook trout and the rest rainbow trout. I guess it could depend on the area. Nice footage but I was shocked that such a big river didn't produce any bigger fish.

They have been stocking cutthroat in some of the TN tailwaters.
That second fish was indeed a cutthroat.
Good stuff. Trout look kinda thin. Must not be alot of forage there this time of year.
Hard to beat reliance. That was a snake river cutthroat. They released some.
Not in this river
@@brianstamey7228 Not sure where you got that theory but ok there in there
The first “brown” you caught was a cut throat trout good catch man

Hey, I know that place!
I was just watching another fishing TH-camr the other day trout fishing in Gatlingburg. He made a point to emphasize not handling trout without wetting your hands first. I don’t live near trout so, genuine question… is there anything to that?
Yes if you don't you take off there protective slime and scale's
Yes - dry hands mess up their slime which increases their susceptibility to infections and whatnot…
I see this as a great question.
Yes. Just be delicate when possible. They are resilient for the most part but some in some locations require extreme care.
Yes your dry hands can remove slime on any fish, slime is like a protection for from fish diseases. trout seem more sensitive to it than most other fish. It’s best to wet your hands if possible when handling them.
Good one,.
