I’m proud of you bro, hell if you only caught 2 that’s still great. To do something on your own and succeed is more than fantastic and I’m happy for you.
Richard Gene the Fishing Machine intro music for a crappie video. Who would've guessed!!😅😅😅 Keep on! And remember, goooo fishin' when you can 'cuz it's gooood for ya!!!!
Before fish finders we use to crappie fish with minnows under a slip float since they swim in schools we would take one we caught tie pice line to it through the lip and other end to a pop bottle the fish would return to the school and we would fish around the bottle and hammer them
Your videos always puts a big smile to my face. I'm gonna have to watch your videos before I start my day to keep me motivated. Stay awesome and keep up the great videos!!!!
For the folks that do that all the time, they've learned the tricks but to the new timer, Crappie are one of the most difficult fish to catch! Esp. the bigguns. If that bait doesn't move just right, forget it! Is it the drift speed of the wind over the lake; not sure we ever figured it out. Good Job you two!
Man, I love you guys videos. Still got a couple weeks up here in VA before the crappie get biting but I can’t wait. Definitely my favorite freshwater fish. Also love how Krystal, with a K, calls em quiet dogs. My daughter calls em silent dogs. Tight lines and straight shots from VA. 👍
Krystal with a K seems like she's a trooper! Lips her own fish and everything! Those are some certified slab crappies, my man. Crappie is my favorite freshwater fish to eat, too. Always been a saltwater guy, but I found that I really enjoy catfishing at night. Those big channel cats on light tackle are a hoot!
Ian I love to speck fish. I fished Dead / Cresent Lake Weds, Thurs, and Friday. We caught over 100. I have a great boat for Speck fishing. Keep up the good video's Love you guys. God Bless
Nice crappie zoids!! ME and my husband use to catch 100s of them on lake Altoona in GA. Dang good eating!! We would have fish Fry's and everybody would show up 😊 Thanks for doing great videos. Especially the one where you went camping with the gators. Best one yet!!!
Next time your out spec fishing, try a little Roadrunner jig with a 1 inch Gulp watermelon shad plastic. The Roadrunner has the little flash blade that SLAYS crappie up here in Minnesota. Give them a try.
Great video. I remember catching what we called specs or speckled perch in a small lake in Hawthorne, FL with my buddy and his wife scaled em, applied a light breading and friend em up. Pretty tasty but nothing like those you are pulling in.
I live in PA and I’ve never gone Crappie Fishing. I also have never been Fishing in Florida and I’d LOVE TO!!! After falling at work last year (15FT) and breaking my Left Femur & Left Heel I have a new Outlook on Life and putting items like this on my Bucket List!! Thank you for all the videos, I watch a lot during my time at home as I’m still recovering.
@@1boortzfan Thank you! Every Day is a Blessing!! It gave me a whole New Outlook on Life!! I almost wasn’t here, as I fell I missed a forklift by a Foot. If I’d have fallen a foot more to the right I wouldn’t be here…..

Ian I seen you were at Georgia boys. If you ever get a chance try to fix that Robin spillway on the ocklawaha. Right at the spillway. Tie up to the barrels.
Awesome video! Our Nursing Home Fishing Team, fished Cresent Lake, and the canal over to Dead Lake from 2-7 thru 2-9-24! Caught a lot of 2lb. fish! My fishing partner and I brought home 97 nice specks! Keep the videos coming, I enjoy them! That dipping sauce looks good, will have to give it a try!
Those were some of the biggest crappie I've ever seen TT. Even the smallest on the table would be a trophy here in Nebraska. And your fry looked awesome!
Aloha Ian. Not gonna lie, left Florida after graduating in 92. Pretty much over the ubiquitous fried plates you got. Dubious fish, scallops, shrimp, and copious amounts of tasteless hush puppies. But, I would eat the crap outta that. Just good ole fashioned fish fry!
Crappie is my favorite type of fishing, so relaxing. It is also my favorite freshwater fish to eat, period ! There is a lot of different ways to catch them wit live bait or artificial lures. Hook and bobber or slip bobber or tight line jigging or casting or shooting docks or trolling ( I'm not a fan of trolling ). Great video, looks like ya'll had a blast !
Crappie…. My first love! I have 5 over 3lbs and many 50lb, 25 fish limits. You’re doing it right! In ca We can only use 2 jigs per rod and 2 rods if you pay extra. Mainly when trolling I pay attention to the wind wave direction, depth, speed (.4-2.0mph) and skirt colors. 4lb test 1/16oz jig @1.2 will run about 8’ deep. 2 jigs @ 1/16ox will run 11-12 feet deep. Remember they look up…. Great series mister!
Don't feel too bad, I'm 56, and I think I only caught maybe only 1 crappie in my life. I used to live in PA, but from what I remember, crappie were kind of rare. Now that I'm a "transplant," you're (hopefully) not one of those types of fisherman that doesn't believe in giving out fishing spots, but if you are, could you maybe just kind of give me the vicinity of where on the St Johns River you guys were at? I don't think I ever saw crappie as big as the ones you were pulling in. It would be cool if I could land my second (but hopefully not last) crappie as that much of a magnitude as on this video. Simply AWESOME bro! However, if you'd rather not say, I guess I can understand it. Like I said though, how about just the vicinity? I would be so thankful and grateful! Keep up videos, my wife and I love them! GOD BLESS!
Dude, those are absolute SLABS! I fish them up north in Wisconsin and they don't get that big! It's super interesting to see you troll for them. We fish smaller bodies of water and jig. But, you are using the same tackle as we use! Jigs and twister tails! Super cool.
The only thing I do different is try putting your corn meal or flour in a paper bag, It’ll keep your seasoning dryer, Especially if you’re frying a lot of fish!
OMG I love this video and how you prepared them!! Thank you so much for sharing your days and what you do ! Coming to florida in April, so hopefully my husband and I find some places to go fishing and crabbing :) We are from Maryland, so we are missing the outdoors right now :) God bless!
Great video as always Tug! I thought Piggly Wiggly went out of business, we had them in Ky 30+ years, haven't seen one in a long time. After watching this I feel embarrassed that I ate a 3 piece fish meal from Captain D's today LOL but it was good :)
I think you have let the spec bug bite you you’re gonna be hooked for life now brother nothing like catching them nice big black specs like that love your videos you do a wonderful job. Really appreciate you.
Dang beasts... Takes along time here in MI to get that big! "Slap ya Mama Cajun Fish Fry", coated in Yellow Mustard then breading. Good ratio of corn meal. I'll definitely have to try the "House Autry" though. I know that lake...lol
Hey tug, I don't know if it's a certain part of texas, but I live right on galveston bay, and what we call specs, are salt water speckled trout, we have croppie north of houston, but that's what they're called is croppie.
Great video Ian & Krystal! Any day fishing is better than every other day. Is Krystal really with a K? I’m so sorry Krystal. I love the prep & cook, delicious! Thanks for sharing!!!
