Your boat spins so much, probably that's because of your custom setup back side of spartan. I think you should use default back.

Glad I bought a sonicwake, thicker hull and better screw down lid, caught wicked air with none of those problems and it’s self righting

If you handle your boat with care and know it's limits it's not required. I never use hatch tape on mine. However I also spent four days sanding it to have it professionslly painted snake skin green. I have close to $1,000 into my boat.

I love my RC boat and I made it my own. It's been a growing hobby. $1,000 dollars is a drop in the bucket. Most of theses boats a $500 plus before you add the lipo batteries , charger and upgrades.
Here's the deal. It's a Traxxas boat. It's a fast toy, that's it. People who BUILD really fast and well driving boats, usually do not run Taxxas boats. I use hatch tape on my MHZ boats for instance, and they are great well built fast boats.

And that is why the Proboat Sonicwake 36 is a better choice. Canopy screws down, does not leak or come off in crashes. The self righting puts it over the top. The Spartan is more expensive as well. Proboat all the way.

I probably would’ve gone swimming for the battery, depending on how deep the water is.
We have swim about 3 hours with diving suit, but to much mud on the ground. Never found the lipo !!!!

Comme je l ai explique a d autres internautes , nous avons fouille le cours d eau avec des équipements spécialisés de plongée. Malheureusement il y a tellement de vase au fonds que la batterie a ete ensevelie donc introuvable !!!!!! 😉

il a l'air carrément trop léger pour sa puissance.
En 6S ça passe bien normalement, mais en fait, le bateau avait un probleme sur l hélice (surement suite a un choc) donc a l accélération.... il ne reste pas stable ... ce qui a provoque ces accidents en serie 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 En tout cas il marche fort ce Spartan 🔥🔥🔥

I like to tape my hatch but the down side to traxxas spartan is the aerodynamic channels built right next to the hatch and not flat to where u can have a nice flat tape all the way around it.

C est pas écolo mais après 4 heures de recherches avec des équipements de plongées - on a pas retrouve l accus enseveli dans la vase !!! Et c est vraiment ce qui s est passe - !!!

On adore upgrader les coques et les performances sont remarquables...... Toutefois ce Spartan est d'origine, mais nous avons constaté que l'hélice était sérieusement tordue sur ses 2 extrémités. En fait, il a du y avoir un premier choc qui a tordu l hélice, puis lors de l accélération, on voit bien que le bateau ne tient pas .....Puis c'est le Crash....

If you purchase a good hull and build a good boat, and use hatch tape, there's not much to fear. Bring a rescue boat and you'll be fine.

Pacome PIRA Nous sommes un groupe très ecolo, nous aimons la nature, les arbres, les rivières , les animaux, les canards, les poissons, malheureusement lors de ces essais, comme vous avez pu le constater, une lipo a été accidentellement éjectée hors du bateau RC. Nous avons tout mis en oeuvre pour la récupérer. Equipement de plongée, masque sous marin, combinaison de plongée....
Dans ce cours d eau il y a vraiment beaucoup de vase et nous ne l avons pas retrouvée. Lors d une précédente sortie nous avons perdue une gopro (sans la mousse flottante), elle a disparue dans la vase. C est bien dommage, depuis nous prenons toutes les mesures de prudence pour fixer correctement le matériel. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Dans ce petit film on voit bien la première alerte avec l'air qui soulève le bateau qui en ressort indemne, et juste après la perte totale de contrôle avec l'ejection d une des 2 lipos (3S). Elle est encore au fonds de l'eau.....
En fait, à la vue de l 'hélice qui est complétement voilée, on pense qu' il y a eu un premier choc qui a déformé l'hélice puis à la ré-accélération le bateau ne tenait plus le cap ...à fait droite gauche plusieurs fois puis plouf !!!

Papa Bricole moi perso, je préfère conserver les éléments d origine . Tu peux tout faire évoluer mais il y a des critères a respecter :
Tu peux changer le flex pour du plus gros, hélice pas et diamètre different, combo vario moteur .....et la c est le casse tête .... qu est ce qui marche avec quoi . Si hélice trop grosse ... arrachage du flex et ou chauffe moteur.
Si gros moteur faut changer le vario pour un 120 ou 150 ampères ...
C est pas mon truc , faut aller sur des forums spécialisés sur FB et la y a des connaisseurs .

You need to understand that if you throw that much into a pair of 3S packs and a charger, you're doing it wrong. Here's what you could have gotten for less.
