I just got this car and learned a lot from this video. The dealer didn't have time to go through the entire system because it was getting too late in the day. Thanks! On another note, I am having a little adjustment issues because there are no knobs to twist or press or pull. The steering wheel controls are way too much to handle, but I guess I'll just have to get used to them. Everything about this car is a fingerprint magnet. I am a bit OCD so this will drive me crazy! Oh well. I wish there's an aftermarket product somewhere that will sell custom viny matte stickers to cover them or something like that.

Might be worth seeing if they can do it without damaging the original finish when it is time to take it off. Can I ask what specification did you go for and what colour?

Thanks for reaching out! You can only use the heated seats, not the heated steering wheel. If you have the heated steering wheel option, it’s where you can electronically adjust the steering wheel. There’ll be a button above it. Why do you like to use this feature? I have had someone say they use it because they have an awkward drive so it really helps them park their car at home
@@DrSaahb I like it because because there are lots of places where I repeatedly park. Previously if I drove in forwards I would have to wait till the proximity sensors triggered the 360 camera to check my position. Now it happens automatically, brilliant! Can’t wait to watch some more of you videos, Keep up the good work.
The other half bought a 300de Coupe, lovely car but I couldn’t figure out how to open the rear cup holders in back armrest….not in manual…..was going to call the dealer…..you saved the day 😂

Thanks for the comment. You will need a Memory Stick which is formatted to FAT32 and then put it in the usb-c slot. I would buy a memory stick which is usb-c. If you have an older USB memory stick then you can but an adapter which will convert it to usb-c. I haven’t set one up from scratch but maybe in the future I might do a video. Let me know how you get on please as it will help me and others?

The other way to see if you have the feature is to go into your car, if you look at the Climate Control Menu, there might be an option called “Pre-entry climate ctrl” and if you select that option, you can then set times for the car to warm up etc. I would recommend you keep your car plugged in so it doesn’t lose any battery power for your journey.

FYI the little yellow lines on the rear-view camera signify 1 metre. The closer you get to the wall etc you’ll see 1 yellow line which is 1 metre then 2 yellow lines = 2 metres.

Depends if you are buying new or used. When I did this video I think it was an option. Also when I made the video there was a chip shortage so some features were available and some were not. It also depends on what country you are buying the car. It is best to double check with your Mercedes salesperson.

Thanks for the comment. I have never been asked this but for UK cars we have to manually adjust the rear view mirror. Other countries may have the option to adjust with buttons. If you want to double check then please call your local Mercedes Dealership to get it checked.

@@DrSaahb hi and thanks for answering. The old model has reset option so that you push up, front, back for 5s and roof starts open properly without going to service. And on this touch panel for roof it seems not to work the same I spouse or do I miss something.
Thanks for the reply. I have no idea to reset the sunroof but your car should have warranty, so take it to the dealership and ask them to check it under warranty and they should be able to fix it. It might be that the car needs a software update. Have you also tried saying “Hey Mercedes, open sunroof”?
1. Can you set the ambient lights to glow through or in the AC? Think I noticed that earlier on in the car. 2. How can I set the sensor to beep at the same distance for both the front and back. Noticed the front sensor goes off when there is still a far distance from the object but the back only beeps when it’s extremely close by. Appreciate your response on this.
Thanks for the comment. 1. The car in this video has the ambient lights in the vents. I think this feature is no longer available for the GLC. 2. I would get this checked and resolved under warranty (there should be no charge for warranty work like this).

@@DrSaahb I just got my car 4 weeks ago and it doesn’t look like I’ve got all the ambient light features and looks to be missing the ambient lighting plus package so none in the vents or around the underside of the dash

Is there anyway to get the different modes of driving through the steering wheel? My husband just traded in his 2017 and that feature was handy through the dial on the console.. he is finding it frustrating.. plus the new 2023 GLC doesn’t have heads up display? Thanks for the comment. It sounds like you had the GLC 63 AMG? Or a GLC 43 AMG? Is that right? Did you buy your car from the UK? Another way to check if you have Head-Up Display, behind the instrument cluster (drivers screen) and behind the windscreen, the dashboard area will have a small space. Cars without head-up display will have nothing there. The manual is generic and has to cover all of the options for the GLC.
Hi. Loving the vids on the GLC! Having just moved to the new model also… I have an annoyance with the car and I was wondering if this is normal with this model and version of MBUX. The car always defaults the AC to off! When either switching between driver profiles and when re entering the vehicle after being locked(ignition off). Funnily if you highlight the AUTO button to off then back on it switches the AC back on! Can't understand why it just doesn't leave the AC on as per it's last state! Particularly noticeable when the car is full of passengers on a damp cold day and it steams up! My theory is that it's an MBUX issue ! Would like to hear if yours or anyone else's GLC is doing the same? Thanks...edit, I've just noticed on your GLC that on the climate buttons on the centre screen both left and right say AUTO, on mine left is AUTO, right is AC! I wonder if there has been a OTA update since you have made the video that has changed this and hence created an issue?
@@DrSaahb Hi Dr it's a UK 300D premium model with ntg firmware RL_NTG7_E330.602_23063AC3. interestingly all the you videos I see have Auto on the Left and Auto on the right where as mine is Auto on the left and AC on the right! Tried to find a contact at Mercedes but needs to be MBUX expert really and it just points you to dealers. Any help much appreciated. Be interesting to know what level of firmware people have? So some of the cars I have done a video on had four zone climate control so rear passengers can have their own temperature. Your car has only the front zone climate control so thats why you have Auto and AC on your screen. Have you setup Mercedes Me on your car and setup a profile with your finger as a login to the car?
Hi Dr Saahb, I took delivery of this exact spec car last Friday, I have the dashcam app and have bought a blank 256GB USB-C drive for this purpose, I also have a USB-C drive from my previous car which contains all my music. Do you know if is possible to prevent the dashcam from over-writing my music USB drive. .......... Thanks

@@DrSaahb I plugged them both in and ran the dashcam for a few seconds to test. A Dashcam folder had been installed on both the music USB and the Blank USB which leads me to believe MBUX doesn't differentiate between available drives
@@DrSaahb Will try again now I have made a backup of my music drive. Will also try it in different USB sockets, maybe priority is given to a particular USB by MBUX on boot up.

@DrSaahb I didn't get it. Code 894 is deleted due to global shortage in semi conductors, added to that no climate setting found with 2 zones only appeared.
That is kind of annoying because it is a really cool feature. Hopefully it can be rectified soon so you get a car with the feature 🤞 Let me know when you get your car?
Once a friend was giving me a ride. I came downstairs and run straight to the car because it was raining. I opened the car’s door to quickly get in. My poor friend was exposed to the rain because I had completely forgotten that his steering wheel was on the wrong side 😅😅 I hadn’t gotten use to it, so I opened the driver’s side door to get in.

@@DrSaahb ok. I answered my own question. So if you remote start with the climate control on auto then after its started by the app the vehicle will then heat or cool to the last temp setting that was displayed the last time it was driven.
Any Idea why they went with a touch screen for everything, even essential buttons like heating and air? Hepatic touch steering wheel? Try using that while turning or on ruff surface. I think it is the most frustrating! Cadillac, Lexus, Mazda and Toyota have learned that you cant put everything on a touchscreen and forget about hepatic anything while your driving. And no reviewers are talking about that. Must have a new interior design team. Everything else is really nice.

I think engineers etc want us to start getting used to verbally request to use features like setting the temperature, changing the radio station, put heated seats on etc. Other manufacturers may not be adding these features to their cars perhaps due to cost of engineering etc. The costs to design new things can be really high and this then makes the price of the car higher etc.
@@DrSaahbI have this model, arrived in February. After 9000.km.the mbux broke down when it wanted to do an update. 3 months and it cannot heat, cannot cool, cannot do anything besides driving it. A nightmare
I hope you are getting your dealership to resolve this under warranty. Please escalate the issue if it has been over 3 attempts to try to repair the issue.

@@DrSaahb the steering wheel button, the car door buttons and the emergency buttons... the seat adjustment button is hard to use, tight, not easy to push.... the middle panel is easy to get dirty and scratched... mercedes becomes less mercedes....
I do feel most of the car feels like an upgrade to the previous version. Yes the steering wheel buttons have changed and i do prefer the old ones. The seat controls are a metal finish with haptic style feedback so they are not supposed to move. The other buttons you mentioned have always been plastic. What specification was your previous car and now what specification do you have?
I purchased a #GLC400e in January 2023 in Germany with all #AMG premium packages; I encountered numerous issues four times. On a highway where I was traveling at a speed of 120 miles per hour, I misplaced the transmitter. Can you even begin to imagine how much my life was in danger when I was traveling at a fast pace in the middle of the highway? I have taken the vehicle to the Service Center three times. I am so irritated that I want to get my money back for this ridiculous automobile. My TH-cam channel contains documentation of all of these stories. This car doesn't seem so premium ngl. Child lock is a old manual lever? Bloody hell my old Nissan primera had buttons, my other cars it's in the menus. This car feels like a filler car

@@DrSaahb my jaguar xe and volvo. Been inside the new c class, very disappointed too with the fit and finish. Parts don't feel solid and they did feel cheap. I'm now basing this maybe the same with glc and it's the same interior. Actually caught in between a few options now and your video was helpful in understanding the features, but am also considering the genesis gv70 or g80

No this Mercedes GLC doesn’t do that. I think all Keyless Mercedes has to be unlocked by the hand touching the handles

Yes I wouldn’t be worried about putting my body weight on it. I would use it to help me clean the roof of the car 😂

how do you adjust the rear view mirror?
Thanks for the comment. I have never been asked this but for UK cars we have to manually adjust the rear view mirror. Other countries may have the option to adjust with buttons. If you want to double check then please call your local Mercedes Dealership to get it checked.

The old model has reset option so that you push up, front, back for 5s and roof starts open properly without going to service.
And on this touch panel for roof it seems not to work the same I spouse or do I miss something.
Thanks for the reply. I have no idea to reset the sunroof but your car should have warranty, so take it to the dealership and ask them to check it under warranty and they should be able to fix it. It might be that the car needs a software update.

2. How can I set the sensor to beep at the same distance for both the front and back. Noticed the front sensor goes off when there is still a far distance from the object but the back only beeps when it’s extremely close by.

1. The car in this video has the ambient lights in the vents. I think this feature is no longer available for the GLC.
2. I would get this checked and resolved under warranty (there should be no charge for warranty work like this).

I am not 100% sure. I think the wipers will either automatically come on when in “auto” mode or try it in manual mode and press the rear wiper button on the left or right.

I think the issue is because the zone has been set differently but if you set the zones to be the same and at high brightness then you should be able to see the ambient lighting in very low light conditions.

@@DrSaahb I just got my car 4 weeks ago and it doesn’t look like I’ve got all the ambient light features and looks to be missing the ambient lighting plus package so none in the vents or around the underside of the dash

Did you buy your car from the UK?
Another way to check if you have Head-Up Display, behind the instrument cluster (drivers screen) and behind the windscreen, the dashboard area will have a small space. Cars without head-up display will have nothing there.
The manual is generic and has to cover all of the options for the GLC.

Hi. Loving the vids on the GLC! Having just moved to the new model also… I have an annoyance with the car and I was wondering if this is normal with this model and version of MBUX. The car always defaults the AC to off! When either switching between driver profiles and when re entering the vehicle after being locked(ignition off). Funnily if you highlight the AUTO button to off then back on it switches the AC back on! Can't understand why it just doesn't leave the AC on as per it's last state! Particularly noticeable when the car is full of passengers on a damp cold day and it steams up! My theory is that it's an MBUX issue ! Would like to hear if yours or anyone else's GLC is doing the same? Thanks...edit, I've just noticed on your GLC that on the climate buttons on the centre screen both left and right say AUTO, on mine left is AUTO, right is AC! I wonder if there has been a OTA update since you have made the video that has changed this and hence created an issue?

Tried to find a contact at Mercedes but needs to be MBUX expert really and it just points you to dealers. Any help much appreciated. Be interesting to know what level of firmware people have? So some of the cars I have done a video on had four zone climate control so rear passengers can have their own temperature. Your car has only the front zone climate control so thats why you have Auto and AC on your screen.

Hi Dr Saahb, I took delivery of this exact spec car last Friday, I have the dashcam app and have bought a blank 256GB USB-C drive for this purpose, I also have a USB-C drive from my previous car which contains all my music. @@DrSaahb I plugged them both in and ran the dashcam for a few seconds to test. A Dashcam folder had been installed on both the music USB and the Blank USB which leads me to believe MBUX doesn't differentiate between available drives
That is annoying. Just wondering, were you able to listen to music, using the usb with music on it and it recorded dashcam footage at the same time?

@DrSaahb I didn't get it. Code 894 is deleted due to global shortage in semi conductors, added to that no climate setting found with 2 zones only appeared.

Once a friend was giving me a ride. I came downstairs and run straight to the car because it was raining. I opened the car’s door to quickly get in. My poor friend was exposed to the rain because I had completely forgotten that his steering wheel was on the wrong side 😅😅 I hadn’t gotten use to it, so I opened the driver’s side door to get in.

If you go to the “Service” section on the instrument cluster (screen in front of the driver) you should have an option for oil level.

What about pre entry climate control ?
You will need to use the Mercedes Me app to setup pre entry climate, aslong as the car is hybrid or an electric car.

I should have been more specific. For plug in hybrids only in the UK. It will probably be the same for other countries too.
@@DrSaahb ok. I answered my own question. So if you remote start with the climate control on auto then after its started by the app the vehicle will then heat or cool to the last temp setting that was displayed the last time it was driven.

Any Idea why they went with a touch screen for everything, even essential buttons like heating and air? Hepatic touch steering wheel? Try using that while turning or on ruff surface. I think it is the most frustrating! Cadillac, Lexus, Mazda and Toyota have learned that you cant put everything on a touchscreen and forget about hepatic anything while your driving. And no reviewers are talking about that. Must have a new interior design team. Everything else is really nice.
Thanks for the comment. That is a really good question. I think engineers etc want us to start getting used to verbally request to use features like setting the temperature, changing the radio station, put heated seats on etc.
Other manufacturers may not be adding these features to their cars perhaps due to cost of engineering etc.
The costs to design new things can be really high and this then makes the price of the car higher etc.

@@DrSaahb the steering wheel button, the car door buttons and the emergency buttons... the seat adjustment button is hard to use, tight, not easy to push.... the middle panel is easy to get dirty and scratched... mercedes becomes less mercedes....
I do feel most of the car feels like an upgrade to the previous version. Yes the steering wheel buttons have changed and i do prefer the old ones. The seat controls are a metal finish with haptic style feedback so they are not supposed to move. The other buttons you mentioned have always been plastic.

I purchased a #GLC400e in January 2023 in Germany with all #AMG premium packages; I encountered numerous issues four times. On a highway where I was traveling at a speed of 120 miles per hour, I misplaced the transmitter. Can you even begin to imagine how much my life was in danger when I was traveling at a fast pace in the middle of the highway? I have taken the vehicle to the Service Center three times. I am so irritated that I want to get my money back for this ridiculous automobile. My TH-cam channel contains documentation of all of these stories.
