@@karlamdz5480 sweetie you missed my point.....they wouldn't believe it in the way I wouldn't believe it...which is that yes of course it's true, but it's SOOOO unbelievable! I was using the term idiomatically....not literally.
He listened to his mother, as they say "dont mention the good things you do for complete strangers, it makes you feel better when you keep them to yourself"
Well his parents became Christians and she obviously got it from the words of Jesus (see below). It's human nature to want credit and applause for our good actions but Jesus, who served and walked in humility, in the revolutionary Sermon on the Mount, speaks about the nature of GOD, which is what born again Christians become conformed to (i.e they get a NEW "nature": 2 Corinthians 5:17), by the power of the Holy Spirit. "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you" (Matthew 6:1-4)
Good man. Amazing man. The story and his reaction to all of the survivors standing up put a tear in my eye. And the fact that he didn't boast about it for 50 long years just shows the class of the man. He helped the kids without any selfish reason. Lots of love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
My eyes welled up the moment that lady sitting right beside him was brought to Sir Nicholas Winton's attention. Your spirit will always live on! All respect to you sir. The same goes to these survivors too. Really hurts to think of what kind of hell they went through. A big salute to all of you. Love and greetings from India.
I would have stood in line for over a week just for the chance to shake hands with Sir Nicholas Winton. This story brings faith that Humanity will survive the miss deeds brought on by a different generation of people. I cried, watch again, an cried again . The story makes my heart sing. Ive seen this about 4 times over the last 10 years and completely takes all my emotions more and more and more each time. What a Man , What an Act of Selflessness and to boot he kept it all to himself for so long. Respect to 'Thats Life' as well. My favourite programme growing up.
The look on his face when he realized the whole crowd of people were kids he saved. That's so awesome that he got to meet them again in a better setting ❤

Race, religion, nationality, sex are just essential private details. Main point is the fight between good and bad people. Thanks for being such an inspiration Mr. Winton. You are an inspiration and example to us all.
In two weeks time he saved hundreds of lives, he could do nothing and let it pass like millions of others did but he did what international leaders didn't and never would do, great that his exemplary deeds got exposed while he was still live and he deservedly got showered with so much love and respect which was long due.
This is what I call a true hero. He never boast about what he has done for others during the war. Kept it in his archive. Reached the age of 106 years was a blessing well deserved and also to see what he has done and meant for others without realizing the impact. And by saving all these children back then, he gave birth to new generations. Bravo, my kind of hero❤
No words - quite a few tears. Refugee crisis all over the world, at least no genocide (for now), but the World needs 20000 Wintons to help refugess. Untill the less-than-palatable powers that be at Davos put action behind their lovely words of the last 10-15 years of addressing global and national inequality.
😭😭😭😭Many times I watched and saw this true life story and each time I cried, so touch by this incredible man. I am from Asia, yet this man Sir Nicholas touches all our hearts
I am here because of the movie and to see the real hero behind this heart moving story. I dont even know the man but I felt in love when I saw the love he was spreading without knowing it.
In india , we always believed that “ नेकी कर, दरिया में डाल” mean Be discreet with your kindness , and this man MR. WINTON stood up to this proverb ♥️♥️

He lived to the age of 106, it's almost as if he was given a little extra time to live for each life he helped save.
I was already welling up, but you just had to say that and make me choke...
My thought exactly.
He did more than just save the children, he rescued the lineage of generations.
I’m crying so hard. God bless him. We need more people like him in this world. Thank you so much ❤️🙏🏻

During a time of unspeakable horror God sent an angel to rescue those children. What a wonderful human being. May he Rest In Peace .
How is this not a goddamned movie already? Good lord!
