Rabanadas- Portuguese Style French Toast (also for Christmas)

  • Portuguese like to make this delicious version of "french toast" at Christmas, but rabanadas are delicious any time of year.
    Rabanadas are commonly enjoyed as a dessert or afternoon treat, rather than as a breakfast food. The bread is soaked in milk or wine, dipped in egg, and then deep-fried in oil and after they are usually sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
    👉🏼 Ingredients :
    1 loaf of bread (baguette) - from the day before
    500ml of milk
    1 lemon (the rind of)
    1 stick of cinnamon
    4 eggs
    some oil (for frying)
    for garnishing :
    some white sugar
    some cinnamon powder
