I'm pretty happy to see that more and more devices are getting good-to-great HDR performance. So many people were burnt on ''HDR-ready'' (basically) Tv's and monitors to the point that there's tens of thousands of post online saying ''I don't see it'' and ''HDR is nonsense'' that that stuff ruined the reputation of HDR like Google Cardboard (and Phone-) ruined VR for many people :p
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
Still have 0 interest in a Windows device with such a small screen. Give us 8.4" like the OneX devices. And give us 1600p so that we can play at 800p with integer scaling and text is clearer when doing something other than gaming. And I'd much rather have VRR than OLED (it is extremely expensive to have both). IMO, for the major brands in America, the Legion go is still best IMO. But the controllers are uncomfortable to hold, no VRR, and only 16GB of RAM.
85% of the device was perfect the failed 15% is the 16gb of ram 24gb should be the minimum 16gb for cpu , 8gb for the gpu windows already draws like 8gb of ram ....

I hate that I like this. It’s basically everything everyone wants and if you really wanted to I’m sure this would be an amazing STEAM OS device. As long as they have good software comparing to the Ally and good device support.
to be real i have no idea why some firms just throw gadgeds into devices "because they can" like that webcam, when people would most likely preffer lesser price with a simple yet effective package. Unless they planning on some Face recognition lock, which sounds excellent on such portable device with your sensitive accounts logged into it.
Webcams cost almost nothing and are included as a differentiator. If two devices are about the same price and you use a webcam a lot, they've spent $1.50 to buy you as a customer. Customer psychology is weird. People like comparing spec lists and will often prefer tech with more features even if they won't ever use those features.
Cameras of that size are produced by the millions each year for cellphone and laptop manufacturers, Zotac could just grab any internal frontal camera intended for cellphones out of the shelf and integrate it into their handheld with barely any extra costs compared to a camera-less version To add the camera probably will cost them a couple of dollars and change per unit by the end of the production runs of the Zotac Zone in a few years.
FINALLY!!! A product that rivals the ally in hardware but has all the buttons/trackpads like the deck! I been looking at the ally but feel like I would miss the decks trackpads for use with steam input in mmorpgs. Wanted an oled screen too this thing checks all the boxes for me ill be waiting for this release! and a camera to boot! Ive always wondered why these devices didnt come with these! This opens up the possibility of an ocular mouse in future iterations!
If Zotac could boost the RAM to 24 or even 32 gigs, have options for more than a 512GB SSD, and possibly put in a bigger battery this would be a seriously awesome device.
Needs 24GB RAM ideally if it's coming out new and bigger battery, otherwise it's coming out as last gen, doesn't have anything majorly over the Steam Deck OLED and the other win handhelds are all getting refreshes already
Those dual trackpads might actually make it a competitor to the Steam Deck. The dual trackpads on the Steam Deck have been instrumental in my ability to use Steam input to play games like "Dragon Age: Origins" that don't have any native controller support.
Oh my gosh...they did it. They FINALLY made a handheld where the joysticks and buttons are OFFSET, which means no bumping into the dumb right analog stick when playing Super Mario World on my 2024 gaming PC! 🤓 (Yes, I'm serious, haha)
The one thing I need to know: Can the joysticks activate gyro at the touch? Ever since the Steam Deck introduced me to that, I've not been able to go back. If it does, I'm down. If it doesn't, I'll pass. Ultimately not a big deal, but I can no longer live without that feature.
This is the FIRST handheld I'd trade my Deck OLED for.... BUT: Battery life will be a MASSIVE downgrade.... Windows experience vs Steam OS will be a MASSIVE downgrade... and 1080p on a 7" screen is a battery sucker, I'd rather have 800p. I think Valve is doing the right thing waiting for better silicon, just like they did with the OG Deck.
I do kinda want 1080p, for better desktop usability, but I agree that 800p with VRR would be the sweet spot. Unfortunately as I understand it OLEDs with VRR are too expensive in these sizes.
I’m gonna be honest I stopped caring about all these handhelds coming out Nothing is gonna make me care unless you get an eGPU dock, long battery life (who cares if it’s high graphics at an hour), or it’s a competitive price Like it or not the Steam Deck is still the only handhelds I’ve used that I recommend to others
The spec that interests me, and is my only complaint on the Deck: will it support eGPU ? It is the only thing lacking on the Deck! You get amazing performance as a handheld, yet it falls appart docked on a TV ! If I could just plug it to an eGPU dock, man, the deck would be the end for me! (I owned the OG Deck, and I currently use the Special edition OLED Deck...)

Ew Immediately turned off by the left stick placement. Last thing I want to do is hold another Sony controller smh Trigger locks are great. Wish the deck had that. I miss quick tap triggers. It's awkward AF using the triggers as a button masher, like in GoW 48.5Whr, probably a 1080p display, 15W-28W, probably using Windows. It's already worse than the Deck/OLED by default Steam Deck/OLED will have proper competition whenever others decide to make a power efficient device. if it can't match or outperform the Deck/OLED at low wattages, it's a waste of money. Valve set the standard and nobody has brought anything to the table over them other than 'muh power'
I'm honestly not too sure how beneficial a high refresh rate for heavier Games is, since these Handhelds aren't extremely powerful and will probably run most games on medium or low with around 30 - 48 FPS, maybe more, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) would be a more killer way of investing into "Game-Comfortableness"

0:30 The AYANEO Air 1S has an 1080p oled, but only 5.5 inch 60hz. At 16/9 it is just a bit smaller than the Razer Edge
The masses want a steam deck 2 that they can connect a quest headset to, and be able to download VR games to play off of it. SDVR. Thats what the masses want… It would make VR even more portable.
Glad to see trackpads!
2:40 the steam deck also has an integrated mic but no camera
Still have 0 interest in a Windows device with such a small screen. Give us 8.4" like the OneX devices. And give us 1600p so that we can play at 800p with integer scaling and text is clearer when doing something other than gaming. And I'd much rather have VRR than OLED (it is extremely expensive to have both).
IMO, for the major brands in America, the Legion go is still best IMO. But the controllers are uncomfortable to hold, no VRR, and only 16GB of RAM.
4:17 started flirting 😂
shhhh
3:33 Well, that shounds off ... but then I remembered we are in June, so...
I came to comment about this too. 😂
85% of the device was perfect
the failed 15% is the 16gb of ram
24gb should be the minimum
16gb for cpu , 8gb for the gpu
windows already draws like 8gb of ram ....
The most important question that seemed fuzzy is if it runs Steam OS?
It doesn't, that's just big picture mode
steam os is an exclusive ui, other manufacturers will have to create their own or pay steam to use the os
@@draco2xxsource on developers paying to use steamOS?
Battery is going to be a major problem against the 80wh competition.
Looks pretty good. What's the OS tho? if its a full windows I aint buying.
its going to be windows for sure, looks like valve are the only ones willing to give good OS support
I love this and am thinking of buying a handheld but I don’t wanna spend 700 to 1000 or more on a device that’s controllers might break and I might not be able to replace them without spending hella and I’m thinking of the legion go but those fans are sooooo loudsdddddd
good to see an oled screen of that size and resolution finally starting to become available for the sector.
I hate that I like this. It’s basically everything everyone wants and if you really wanted to I’m sure this would be an amazing STEAM OS device.
As long as they have good software comparing to the Ally and good device support.
Sadly its not, as less battery capacity at likely more than twice the power consumption of the Steam Deck is not going to be great for a portable.
to be real i have no idea why some firms just throw gadgeds into devices "because they can" like that webcam, when people would most likely preffer lesser price with a simple yet effective package.
People like comparing spec lists and will often prefer tech with more features even if they won't ever use those features.
yea that webcam is absolutely unnecessary😂
Cameras of that size are produced by the millions each year for cellphone and laptop manufacturers, Zotac could just grab any internal frontal camera intended for cellphones out of the shelf and integrate it into their handheld with barely any extra costs compared to a camera-less version
To add the camera probably will cost them a couple of dollars and change per unit by the end of the production runs of the Zotac Zone in a few years.
If it had at least 24gbs Ram I would be sold. 16gb is a deal breaker. Love my ally x.
Does it have vrr?
Nope
@@jordanabendroth6458 aw, kind of a dealbreaker
Well... 1080P with HDR certainly exceeds the power of the integrated GPU.
OS and sleep functionality?
Well... it runs windows so....
this is literally the first handheld PC competitor to the steamdeck i am willing to even consider, what with the touchpads
If it's 3 times the price, it's not a competitor.
@AthenaAutocross no, it still is
This opens up the possibility of an ocular mouse in future iterations!
the steamdeck oled your granny gets you, and you love anyways
Definitely seems way better than Steam Deck OLED
@@drew2626 Better be considering how much they copied it and the fact that Steam deck is now more than 2 years old.
SteamOS is probably the main reason to get a steamdeck over something like this
@@anudeepk7579theres nothing wrong with coping from competitors.
@@freefall5x how is SteamOS a selling feature for the Steam Deck?
Just for you to know. you can order it online for 650. Free shipping on
3:54 that's what she said
I’ve never been this early. I don’t know what happens next.
*panic*
VRR people. That's what we need on these things.
Why isn't this a thing? It must literally just be too small a market. Hope that changes soon.
Not needed in the slightest. This has everything it needs in a screen. Only other thing would be increasing the RAM.
@@Patrick-y4d1z I would take VRR over more RAM anyday. VRR is extremely important when it comes to a device that has fluctuating performance.
I watched some other vids on this, and it also seems that the screen is native portrait, hence the no vrr
@@fuzzymuppet1990 what does being native portrait have to do with vrr?
If Zotac could boost the RAM to 24 or even 32 gigs, have options for more than a 512GB SSD, and possibly put in a bigger battery this would be a seriously awesome device.
Sound like a Asus Rog Ally X
It really doesn't need more memory for gaming. The battery life is a bummer though. That thing won't last for an hour under load.
Yeah, they need to keep up and nove towards next year gen, not releasing last year gen stuff.
@@DanKaschel That doesn't mean more memory wouldn't be appreciated.
@@GPTLeader if the Ally X had track pads and a better OS it would be the undisputed champ.
This is the most appealing windows handheld I've seen so far, those dual trackpads are legitimately so nice for navigation
It looks like toy from McDonald's in the plastic used
Needs 24GB RAM ideally if it's coming out new and bigger battery, otherwise it's coming out as last gen, doesn't have anything majorly over the Steam Deck OLED and the other win handhelds are all getting refreshes already
Looks awesome I just wish it had VRR, native landscape, much smaller bezels, and a bigger battery.
Why native landscape?
@@DanKaschelbugs with windows
It has a native landscape panel. ETA Prime mentioned it in his video about the ZOTAC from the same event.
Not gonna lie this looks kinda neat. I like the idea of the dials around the sticks and that they put touchpads on it.
I wish for the handheld market mitigates large bezels screens since it is 2024.
120hz? THAT'S impressive? They couldn't be bothered to put a 144hz screen in that thing?? I'll stick with my 144hz gaming laptop thank you very much
With this layout they might as well be the PlayStation handheld version not a fan I take the steam deck over this any day same with the Ally
The one thing I need to know: Can the joysticks activate gyro at the touch?
Ever since the Steam Deck introduced me to that, I've not been able to go back. If it does, I'm down. If it doesn't, I'll pass. Ultimately not a big deal, but I can no longer live without that feature.
Hope it's get amd 890m
amd ryzen 8840 uses radeon 780m graphics
I’m gonna be honest I stopped caring about all these handhelds coming out
Nothing is gonna make me care unless you get an eGPU dock, long battery life (who cares if it’s high graphics at an hour), or it’s a competitive price
Like it or not the Steam Deck is still the only handhelds I’ve used that I recommend to others
I thought you weren't doing VPN sponsors anymore? Maybe I confused something. Sorry I couldn't send a merch message.
Thx. I now know the Screen of the Ally2 which which will be like 1000$
The dial is genius, but I would want it for either
A. Sensitivity.
B. Tension/Resistance. No more floppy, flaccid sticks, boys.
(I owned the OG Deck, and I currently use the Special edition OLED Deck...)
considering how bad the Home Console market got with only Sony & Microsoft competing? yeah i welcome the flood of Handhelds with open arms
... however, yall need to just drop the weird D-pads, Nintendo figured it out in the 90's just do propper Plus Shapped D-pad, maybe do the 4 buttons like the Dualshock if you want the Tactile feedback, either way, no more pucks D-pads are for precission & they need to be as distinguishable by touch as possible
Those bezels are chonky
They do that on purpose so that the next gen can seem like an upgrade
So I withdraw my previous “he’s clearly growing the beard back”. 😂 Linus please please! We loved the beard! Bearded Linus was friendlier. :) (by the way I’m only commenting on it because you have talked about beard / no beard at length!)
Good finaly some other PC handheld that has equvialen of SteamDeck trackpdas, and webcam is also good addon,
but I suposes it use Windows ? (You don't say what os it uses in video) If yes than I stll prefer my SteamDeck with Linux.
How annoying is the subpixel arrangement? Bad pentile, okay pentile, or full RGB?
So............. it's a Steam Deck.... but with spywareOS (AKA windows) instead of linux......
Great, ANOTHER one of these.
To answer Linus's question at the beginning. No. No we certainly do NOT.
Note: (ooh and a webcam to make sure the spying is even WORSE.)
I mean if a good life batery and good screen, coupled with a decent priced handheld, could be good. not like at the moment with More than 900 Euros in Europe for the Rog ally X which is really a stupid pricing.
Ew
Immediately turned off by the left stick placement. Last thing I want to do is hold another Sony controller smh
Trigger locks are great. Wish the deck had that. I miss quick tap triggers. It's awkward AF using the triggers as a button masher, like in GoW
48.5Whr, probably a 1080p display, 15W-28W, probably using Windows. It's already worse than the Deck/OLED by default
Steam Deck/OLED will have proper competition whenever others decide to make a power efficient device. if it can't match or outperform the Deck/OLED at low wattages, it's a waste of money.
I'm team GPD personally, I like the size of the Win 4. THOUGH, this is not not interesting, that's for sure. I do like the dual USB 4, though, the Win 4 does allow USB 4 + Occulink + USB 3.2 20Gbs on the bottom, and has a keyboard, native landscape 1080p display as well.
