Yeah, Islam got stubborn, but he won a lot of those exchanges against the best boxer in the division. What are we talking about? It was domination, the knees, the movement, i mean even the grappling(that is better than khabib's). The difference is that he is not that aggressive with the takedowns. Love poirier, but islam won easily and showed that if the takedowns didn't get going, he could win wars.

I think the answer of cheal’s question about Khabib and Islam’s condition is related to where they were raised. They lived their entire lives in the mountains which is u know has a lower level of Oxygen. So when they live and train in such environments, their RBC ( red blood cells) that responsible of oxygen level in our blood will be higher than the normal people who live in the sea level. So training in such highs will make ur body works better when u go down coz u are you used to certain level that higher than the level that u r fighting in when u enter the octagon. I read that but I’m not sure if it is study or not

Dustin is a Blackbelt in BJJ. But Islam is Already a certified Master in Combat Sambo
that training with Gamrot really paid off. I mean, DP is a black belt and a good grappler but doesn’t have great wrestling. his takedown defense was great but give Makhachev his just due… he gutted it out and showed how elite he is.

There's no secret to their endurance. Thr Dagestanis train at altitude and then come down to sea level-ish a month before. Its like having an oxygen injection when they come down. Pro Marathon runners and triathletes do this all the time. Want to have amazing cardio, train at altitude for 3-6 months then come back down and you'll feel like a super hero!!
