    If the developer doesn't give up on it, and keeps updating it for a few years, it could become great.
    I kinda agree with negative comments saying that at the moment, it doesn't really does anything better or bring anything new to the table, if you already have CMR 2.0.

    I hope they add more cars in the future like the Lancia Stratos or Ford Escort. This game looks really solid!

    What does this offer compared to Colin McRae Rally 1 & 2? As I still love to play those games using emulation. This looks similar but the roads look a bit flatter lacking in camber and bumps, even compared to PS1 games. But I'm still keen to try it if someone can persuade me it provide something extra or above what the original PS1 & PS2 era games have to offer?

      tbh it looks like one of those games that rides on "nostalgia" but missing the point on why those games were nostalgic to being with. Just look at the "car repair". Even CMR1 had more depth in there than this game has. Also the cars look glued to the ground. I hope it becomes better, because as it stands now, it's just another "retro callback" that's just retro in the look department.

      Heard opinion of two people that all cars feel the same to drive and their engine sound is also too samey. I hope they are wrong.

    • @chubz8969
      @chubz8969 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      it is early acess after all. and yes, all the cars have the same sound. the handling differs a bit (at least according to the stats, its rally hard to tell if they really drive diffrently) and right now the game doesnt offer a whole lot more than the demo did. exept for more cars, more tracks and the rally mode. right now its just a "play casually while watching something else on your phone" kinda game, which is fine by me. just dont expect to much for a game that costs less than 10 bucks right now.
      it has potential tho, ill give it that.

    I love this game's concept but it's competing with Rush Rally 3 (a very solid old school Rally title) and from the demo, OSR doesn't compare favourably, I'm sorry to say. The main issue is the handling, the car just does not feel connected to the road, it feels like a sled tbh. Keep going, I have my fingers crossed that you can improve the game but atm, in the words of Simon Cowell "it's a no from me!"

    • @IntroRC
      @IntroRC 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      the way you had described the handling is on point. I think some improvements in the tire physics would really improve the overall experience. But again, if this is going for ps1 era then i guess its pretty on point with mcrae rally or something. A good classic with fun physics was Rally Championship Xtreme for PC (2001). my lord was it fun

      @@IntroRC I can't speak for Playstation titles, I was a Saturn and PC gamer at the time. If you look at what I consider to be one of the best early examples of an accessible Rally Game, Sega Rally, one of the most of the impressive features was how different the surfaces handled. They weren't "realistic" but mud, sand and tarmac seemed to have different properties and the car very much felt connected.I remember that PC game but never played it. Post Sega Rally, my title of choice was the RAC Rally (which was superb on low spec hardware).

    Handling has a looooong way to go
    Right now there are mobile games with better gameplay

  • @ThisIsDownstate
    @ThisIsDownstate 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    i really really wanted to love it but so far i find it kind of frustrating tbh because the physics / handling is just not satisfying. Some of the turns are really tricky to take without losing all momentum. Especially driving in bumper or cockpit view which is always my preference. But, im optimistic it'll improve, it just needs a bit of fine tuning imo.

    Three big wishes for me
    I playing with my minds to buy this game. I played the demo, but there were some things I didn't liked.
    1. Please make very good Textures for the cars, I don't like the pixels on each car.
    2. Please Increase the Draw Distance.
    3. Please add Replay Mode.
    This game looks pretty good, but there are some things I have problems, could you please do this? :)

      With your suggestions it will not be an Old School Driver anymore.
      That is the Point and the Love of the Game. It is Old School. Back then there were no replays and the The Textures were at the technical limited possibilities back then.

    • @midorifox
      @midorifox 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@maxwellvideos1271 The textures were limited but look at how CMR2 looked on pc even back then, or Toca 2. The cars were always good looking. I don't get it, why is everything "retro" just a cheap PS1 filter?
      OP's requests are more than reasonable.
      also "no replay"? Have you played CMR 1 or 2? Or Gran Turismo? Or V-Rally? Or basically any racing game for the PlayStation?
