Fyi, the dpfe sensor is on the EGR valve for the 2009 Crown Vic Police Interceptor. It is not a separate black box with the two small hose connections and the electrical connection
Thanks a lot for the video. I was going to take my 2010 CVPI to the mechanic Monday. After watching the video, I talked myself into taking on the task. Well it went without a hitch. I'm sure that saved me at least $20. Another thing I did to reset the "Check engine light", was to disconnect the battery hot cable, replace it and it is the same as re booting a computer.

I love what you guys have been doing with the Crown Victoria. I have already usedyour videos to repair my Ford Taurus. If you could please show a full tune up on the crown Victoria I promise to buy the parts I need from your website.
So I’m not a car guy at all.. like at all! I took my car to my mechanic and he said the EGR valve needed to be replaced and quoted me total of $500 between the part and labor. So I decided to check out TH-cam to see how difficult it would be…saw your vid.. And holy crap it looked super easy! I ordered the part from your website and it saved me and 340.00! Thanks!
I have an 06 mercury grand marquis with the 4.6 i got code P0402 and was told to replace the EGR solenoid not the valve. I got the solenoid, but cant find it anywhere on the car. Where is it?
Got a question will the egr valve if clogged or malfunctioning cause the vacuum to leak or no vacuum at all I'm trying to pin point issue with no heat no a/c no blower already replaced the head unit , took the blower out and tested it and it worked , checked fuses and relays but still nothing on the heater , ac , blower ( 2005 mercury grand marquis)
+Cesar Grande Thanks for watching. If any of our viewers needs to make this repair, we carry the auto repair part shown in this video on our website. Here is a link to them www.1aauto.com/2003-11-egr-valve/i/1aegr00273?TH-cam&CTA+Comment&XmME1Q
I have the P0401 code on my 05 Town Car with 88k I know you want to sell EGR valves but mine appears to be working. If I remove the cover from the breather side of the built in DPFE and put my finger over the tube, the car dies out. I removed the EGR and sprayed out the EGR tube and the EGR valve itself with intake cleaner but still getting the code. Any ideas?
I just did this repair and had similar issues (if by housing bolt you mean the one that attaches the pipe to the bottom of the unit). At first i was doing it with a channel lock pliers like he shows in the video. I couldn't get it loose, so I ended up using an large adjustable wrench (set to a little over 1") which allowed me to get enough torque to get it off. Might go without saying, but make sure your turning it in the same direction as shown in the video (push wrench towards center of car)
+Willie Murphy We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
+Cesar Grande Thank you for checking us out. The EGR valve is used for recirculating a portion of the engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders for emissions purposes. 1aauto.com

Besides a code? Wht are the symptoms of a bad egr valve?
Could egr failure cause kicking while switch gears?
Can you show a tutorial on the replacement of the egr tube on the crown Victoria?
That pipe does not come off that easy.
Mine did.
Can you make a video on how to replace the power steering hoses leading to the pump on a 2003 crown Vic

Does the battery need to be disconnected when doing this, as in other replacement of any electronics on a car with a computer?
I have ticking issues when under accelerating. Could a part of this cause it? I heard something about hoses
+Sam M. If the vehicle hasn't had a tun-up in a while you may want to tune it up.
I have a 2008 crown Victoria that’s stuck in limp mode transmission was just changed so I’m trying to narrow down the problems
My grand marquis is giving me a p0108 code. My research shows the most probable cause is a faulty MAP sensor, which is located in the EGR valve.
thank you guys. I like all your videos

Anybody have any clue what size the nut on the egr tube fitting ACTUALLY is?

Where is the purge valve located at
Could a bad egr valve cause a p0353, p0355, p0356, p0357 error codes? Car misfires at idle while in drivd but not in neutral or in park.
Intake manifold i bet
can i reuse the gasket
+wrdmndan akdude You should put a new gasket on.
good presentation, thank you!
Is it the same on a 2011 towncar?
+Kevinb1821 The installation process should be very similar for your vehicle.
What about the dpfe cancer
Any suggestions or techniques on how to take off the housing bolt I am having a hard time removing it?

This is to clear p1405 ????

what's this EGR valve for?
+Cesar Grande Thank you for checking us out. The EGR valve is used for recirculating a portion of the engine's exhaust gas back to the engine cylinders for emissions purposes. 1aauto.com
You forgot to reattach the tube
Is this a regular maintenance item or is this a repair of a bad EGR Valve .
+mrbakerskatz It's the repair of a bad EGR valve. www.1aauto.com/2003-11-egr-valve/i/1aegr00273?TH-cam&CTA%20Comment&ATony
mrbakerskatz These EGR valves last awhile but yes it definitely would be considered a maintenance item in my opinion.
After checking your prices, your part is $42 cheaper than O'Reilly's. I did not have the time to wait, but that is quite a big savings.

You didn't even put a new one on.
This guy didn't "replace" ANYTHING! He just removed, then reinstalled the same old EGR valve!!!!
